[Q] Paid apps not showing up in app drawer in ICS - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I attempted to purchase and install a paid app from the Google Play store but got the "An error has occurred" message. In order to circumvent this problem, I went to play.google.com and tried to install it that way to my device.
The push seemed to be successful and said "installed successfully" but it's nowhere to be found in the app drawer. It shows up in my apps list in manage apps but not in the app drawer.
I tried the usual fixes including clearing data/cache from the play store app, services framework, and launcher...all with no luck. Any ideas on how to fix this issue. I've uninstalled and installed the app over and over with no change.
For reference I'm on
ROM: Decks ICS PB22
Kernel: Mason's 0.14
Launcher: Nova

Since that ROM is still in development, you are likely to run into problems like that. The only thing I can say is to re-wipe and re-flash the rom.

Could it be a permission issue?
Try fixing the permission in CWM or something?

Fixing permissions and reflashing didn't work. It could just be the rom, I'll post if a future update takes care of it but I have heard of these kinds of issues happening with the updated Play store.

Market won't show my apps after flashing Calk's 2.5.1 Full

Flashed Calkulin's E4GT ROM V2.5, Market worked fine first time I selected "My Apps". Second time I tried, I would get one of the following:
- "Apps and games owned by this account will appear here."
- "Applications and games owned by this account will appear here."
Tried reflashing the ROM
Tried clearing Market Cache and data
Tried Uninstalling/reinstalling
Tried downloading new apps from market (from both PC and device)
Tried syncing AppBrain
Tried Market Doctor in Titanium Backup
None of these resolved the problem.
Here's another thread reporting the issue for the Galaxy S II:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20504383
Any help resolving the issue would be greatly appreciated!
I can't believe there are no other responses to this. it doesn't matter what rom I run, weather it's custom or stock, I see this message and I can't get to my apps. definitely seems like a problem on google's end.

Certainly seems like a Google issue. This is an issue for me on stock and any other custom ROM (with or without Titanium Backup).
Contacted Market support and was told that they couldn't help me if I was on a custom ROM. I told them that I was on stock...so far no reply (it's been 2 weeks).
I did notice that this issue first started after I tried purchasing Read It Later Pro. Market shows that the app was PURCHASED and ready to INSTALL but the transaction never went through. This is when my trouble started. Like I said, so far no acknowledgement or help from Google about the issue.
I'm noticing that the "carrier" field in my Market Account -> Settings is blank (it should say "Sprint".

Anyone else have the same?

Yea use Titanium back up and freeze the market updater app. After that reboot device and problem should be fixed! Good luck!

"Not Supported" message
I'm having an issue with the Market (Google Play): About 70% of the apps I look at in the Market tell me "Your device isn't compatible with this item".
At first I thought it was a botched ROM flash (tuesday -new beggining) so I did a full wipe & reloaded the same ROM; same issue (about 90% of apps gave that error).
I recently loaded Paradox II (the 3/05 release) and did a full wipe as directed (flashed the wipe util's that were posted). Before restoring any of my apps I checked the market for the paid ones I use that were installed while on the rooted factory ROM (like MyBackup Pro) and got the same message. Some of the apps that "weren't supported" when on the Tuesday ROM were all the sudden supported & downloadable.
I had all apps backed up with MyBackup Pro and installed just the apps (no settings) using the BusyBox option. Every app worked just fine & market links restored but when going to market to update one of the installed & working apps, it'd say not compatible.
Thinking this was a market issue, I uninstalled the updates, cleared data/cache, and installed various versions of Market (including the new one) that were talked about in other threads about Market errors... did not fix it.
When going to the Market on my computer and looking at apps that are installed or were installed pre-custom ROM, it has my SGH-T989 grayed out. I checked build.prop and couldn't see anything with the device identification that looked wrong.
This is preventing a lot of my installed apps to not be able to be updated... Any ideas as to what is causing this? Did I fubar something when doing the first custom ROM flash?
Here are some of the major apps that are saying they are incompatible:
Adobe Flash Player
Astrid Task
Documents to Go
Dolphin Browser HD
DropBox
MyBackupPro
SuperUser

Is there a list of these files anywhere that you know of? I ran in to an issue a while back on my G2x when doing something similar to this after a failed theme flash.
Under system/app I have marketupdater.apk but nothing else...
/data/app. Mine is called com.android.vending

Update on this issue...
I cleared the cache/data for Play Store, uninstalled updates, turned off data, cleared cache/data for Market, went through and deleted all Market related apps/folders:
data/data/com.android.vending (folder)
data/data/com.android.vending.updater (folder)
data/app/com.android.vending.apk
system/app/MarketUpdater.apk
system/app/vending.apk
- I reinstalled the last version of Market that was posted on goo then let it update to Play Store. This resulted in more apps being "compatible" but still had quite a few coming up as "incompatible" (that I had installed & knew worked on the GS2). After further research I found a scenario on another Samsung phone that the lowering the LCD Density caused this same issue. After setting it back to 240 & reinstalling the Market again, the issue was resolved...
I would love to lower the density again but don't want to mess up the Market. Does anyone know of a tweak that will allow this (I'm thinking a build.prop mod)?

[Q] "process com.google.process.apps has stopped"

In the title of this post I quoted the error message my 2013 N7 gives when I boot it up. It is acting seriously messed up and I' ve been trying for days to fix it. It won't download updates or anything, and the Play Store won' t open. I found some threads here by people with similar problems, and I would like to try the suggested solutions but for some reason my tablet's menus don't offer the actions I need to do, like enable downloads or reset app preferences. I've looked everywhere and tried everything.
At androidcentral they had me wipe the cache partition, and I was pretty sure that wouldn't help but I did it anyway. I've lost many hours to this, posting in various forums and trying everything I can think to do, and every avenue is closed to me. Please advise.
Have you tried a factory reset?

If you mean "com.google.process.gapps" then you need to reinstall/update Google Play Services from the play store.

The play store won't open. I can try to uninstall/reinstall Play Services if there's some other way.
On my device, when I go to settings -- apps -- Google Play Services, there are buttons for force stop, uninstall updates, disable, clear data, and c!ear cache. I don't see one for uninstall.
Trying just to update the app won't work, attempts to update anything always abort.
If you'll please suggest a course of action, I'll try it and get back to you. Thanks for your help.

[Q] Google Play Store Keeps Crashing on Rooted Note 4, What to do?

I have a Sprint Note 4 which is rooted and yesterday I downloaded Lucky Patcher and the Modded Google Play Store to replace my stock Google Play Store. So through Titanium, I backed up the stock Google Play Store and then I uninstalled it, since the Modded Google Play Store would not let me install it without doing that. I also cleared the cache and data on Google Play Store and now it just keeps crashing all the time. When I try to download something, it starts to download and then immediately it crashes and gives me the "Unfortunately, Play Store has stopped working" error. I get the error no matter which version of Play Store I use now, whether it is the modded or the official version. I tried clearing data/cache to Google Play Services as well, to no avail. When I try to restore my backup of Google Play Store through Titanium it stays frozen with "Restoring Google Play Store 5.1.11" and I end up having to force stop Titanium. This is so annoying! What can I do? Thanks so much in advance!!!
1) Go to Application manager/All, scroll down to where you find these three: Google Services Framework, Google Play, and Google Play Services. Force stop and delete cache and data for the first two (in order given). You won't be able to force close Google Play Services but choose Manage storage and scroll to bottom to clear all data. It's annoying that they may try to restart, just clear again and reboot quickly.
2) If that doesn't work, got a nandroid backup?
3) Re-flash current ROM, if no.
4) If stock and no backup, consider another ROM or start over with Odin stock tar.
Note: options 3 and 4 may require clean install.
Note 2: I've tried to suggest from least inconvenience to most; hopefully, the easier methods will do.
Edit: you may also see an option to uninstall update to revert to the original system application; consider that as option 2 or 3 for Google Play.

Ok I just did that now when I run Play Store it doesn't crash, instead it is says " Check your internet connection and try again" It seems as if it isn't recognizing that I actually do have a connection? I heard that if you go to the files on the phone to "etc/hosts" file and put a "#" in front of the second IP address in the hosts file that it will work but I just tried that and it didn't so I reverted the file back.
Also I tried going to settings>accounts and removing my Google accounts and re adding them but Play store still says I have no connection (which I clearly do). I made sure my date/time settings are right as well. This is happening with the modded play store and the official 5.2.12 Play Store.
YouTube randomly crashes now as well and gives me "unfortunately, YouTube has stopped " Google play store is still not recognizing that I am connected. I think I have tried just about anything besides flashing back to the stock ROM
Did you try step one again after swapping the Google Play versions? Worth a try, if you didn't.
One more thing: Lucky Patcher creates an Odex file. You should use the Lucky Patcher option to remove the Odex and restore the original. If you're ROM is deodexed, Titanium may not fix this for you. You can manually check for Odex file as well. Titanium is also useful to check for unneeded dalvik-cache files.
And one last suggestion I omitted: in recovery, delete all cache and dalvik cache and reboot.

Hmmm it is working now after hours of fumbling around with settings. Both the Modded and official newest Google Play Stores started working after I turned off "Google License Verification Emulation" and I had to turn off "Google Billing Emulation". Very stressful lol but they were the default settings and I didn't really want to mess with any of the settings as I am just starting with Lucky Patcher.

Was that Google Play version 5.2.12?
I flashed that to system yesterday and everything was working except that it didn't populate my applications and notify updates until a day later. I had to search for updates that I knew were available. Today, the apps populated and I got update notification for available updates. I think it may be part of the battery savings that lollipop is supposed to be bringing; less Google Play wakes.
Consider that your manipulation results may have been skewed by Google not immediately syncing the update.
As for my experience, I did find myself doing step one and considering flashing the nandroid but waited for applications to sync. They did finally sync this morning. The longer sync of apps may have been induced locally by the use of Xposed module "Recent Apps" which can be configured to force close apps and remove from recents, reducing wake times.

No, it is the Modded Google Play Store version 5.1.11 right now that's working but there's a newer version of it that is out. I'm getting frustrated messing with lucky Patcher (if anyone can help me with the basics of it? that i would greatly appreciate that as well. Last question I have is that in my etc/hosts file and there is a "#" before the second IP address in the etc/hosts file. Anyone know what that "#" is used for in front of the IP in the hosts file? Thanks again!!!

The # is used in scripts to comment out; meaning ignore that line in your host file.
As far as LP, there is a help link to read. Discussion threads on LP may get closed on XDA; LP may be a useful tool but leans toward piracy. Not saying this pertains to you but there was a thread that the developer participated in that xda allowed to remain open with a warning. That should be sufficient, unless closed as well.
Edit: found the thread and warning http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45933638, post 21.

Google Store Crashing but only when rooted.
Why is it that when running stock lollipop 5.1.1 on Galaxy S6 Edge is it that Google Play Store constantly crashes when I'm rooted.
When no root it works fine and dandy.
Soon as rooted the bloody thing crashes constantly..
The only way I managed to keep rooted was to use stock google play store and prevent it from updating.
This I can cope with.. If anyone else has come across this issue and found a better way to fix it please let me know
My note 4 lollipop 5.1.1 device has rooted but fix problem in Google play when I update big file(like no system apps) apps so when it's completely update after start beginning wht can I do it

Some apps not updating or installing on Google Play (EMUI 11.0.0.140 - EVR-L29)

Hi,
Anyone getting an error on Google Play Store installing apps or app updates? Some weeks ago one of my installed apps had an update and when installing it gave an error -- no error code as far as I could see. The update continued to be listed every time I went to the Store and stayed there. Finally I decide to uninstall / install the app hoping it would fix the issue. But no, then I couldn't install the app all together, producing the same error. I've contact the developers and after some weeks they replied saying it was an issue on Google's Store. I've reach Google which after investigating, are not aware of any similar problem. I've also done all the procedures recommended in such situation like cleaning cache, data, ... from Google Store; removing and adding back Google ids on the devices, nothing. Unable to solve this I finally gave up some days back.
Yesterday, the problem started with another app update. I see the update, click install, it downloads, starts installing, gives an error and goes back to be listed in the available updates...
Any help welcome.
Thanks.
Same thing happened to me, the reason is Google Play, I uninstalled Google play since my Chinese version didnt come with one, I then had to use a third party installer and installed the newest Google play and everything went back to normal and was able to install all the apps I havent been able to in the last 2 months but didnt care enough to figure it out until last week when I got fed up.
Hi,
Thanks for the inputs.
I've the EVR-L29 running Google services so I can only remove the updates from the Store, data and cache; which I did but didn't solve the problem. I also removed Google user, reboot, and added it back. Issue still persists...
I've contact Google and seems they are not aware of any similar problem. At least that was the feedback I received.
I do see a couple of comments of other users of the app I can't install with the same problem; someone with a Xiaomi and another user with a Huawei phone.
Any ideas? Thanks.
The only thing I can go by is what occurred to me I couldn't install chipotle app or anything, it took uninstalling it, I do know there is a command to uninstall apps and there was an app as well, been awhile but if memory serves me right, the app you used to find the location was App inspector then you had to uninstall it through and adb command line. I would check to see what version of Google Play you have installed. The version I installed that fixed my issue was version 25.4.20-21
