Here is a guide for those who want to post a question and didn't read the rules shown to you by XDA upon signing up; because for Pete's sake...what did the kittens ever do to you?
Step 1: Do a general search at XDA, Rootzwiki, Android Forums, etc. for your question. Chances are it has been asked before.
Step 2: If you can't find it in a general search, but think it might be in a thread, do a search within that thread, or check the OP (original post).
Step 3: If you can't find it there, do a Google search.
Step 4: If all else fails, and you can't find the answer, then it is safe to ask the question.
Step 5: Hit the thanks button when someone answers your question, don't post just to say thanks.
The developers, themers, and senior members work very hard at providing amazing stuff for free! They are more than willing to help you if you have a valid question that hasn't been asked before. As any sensible human being knows, you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
So please follow these simple steps to avoid getting flamed or shut down by a moderator.
Hehe. Nice post. I also wonder why the noobs aren't using the q&a..... Is it possible that was put there to...... ASK QUESTIONS?!?!?!

I understand that you are trying to emphasize that we should utilize the ability to search the forum for the answers to our questions, but there is no need to be a **** about it.
As a newcomer to the DINC2 forums it makes me want to move to a different site than XDA. As a community we should be ready and willing to help each other, sometimes people do not have the time to dig through everything that a search brings up and/or figure out how to word the search in order to find what they are looking for and it is just more convenient to ask the community as a whole for assistance since there is a good chance one of us has experienced the issue or knows where to find the answer.
I'm sorry for the little rant but I think that in general there is no reason to tear someone down if they "didn't follow the rules of the forum" how do you know they didn't search and couldn't find the result they were looking for?
Like I said we are not here to complain about each other, but to help each other. :screwy:

As most people know..I'm more than willing to help those that have already tried to learn or search.
But what isn't worth helping is someone asking for a fix when its posted just one or 2 pages back in the thread.
Or starting a new thread asking how to do something in the wrong sub forum especially when there is already a thread on how to do it.
I think my reputation is known enough that I'll provide you will the help I can of its something that's rarely used or hasn't been stated many times. But when I have to post how to fix the aokp camera at least once every page for a week...its not worth it.
^^^^camera patch, market fix, camcorder patch, mms fixes.. to name a few.
If you don't like to search and learn then OK. Go over to rootz.. they don't like to search before they post either.

Dude, all he's trying to say is search. He's not trying to be a ****. The problem is, if you don't have time to read the threads, or at least search the thread, don't use that ROM. Or, do it the old fashioned way and flash and see for yourself.
As an older member here, I can say that it seems that the new generation of vivow users are getting lazy. I don't mean to be a **** myself, but I also grow tired of seeing the same questions asked (not to mention cluttering up the thread) at least once every page because people don't wanna read at least a page or two. I do try to help people where I can, but when I help someone and immediately the post after mine is asking the question I just answered, you can imagine it'd be a little frustrating.
All we're asking is that you at least read the op. It happens to be in the forum rules that you should search before you post. If you can't find the answer by reading the op, search the thread.
