S-ON S-OFF - HTC One X

Hello
This is the first time m on a native android device(jumped from HD2) .so please forgive if I sound stupid..
Have Unlocked the bootloader using HTCDEV.com.on the top it says **UNLOCKED**
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
Isn't it suppose to say S-OFF ???cant really make out if actually unlocked the bootloader
Is thr any way to relock ??

It's supposed to say UNLOCKED if you used HTCDev's method to unlock.
If for some reason it is S-Off'ed by revolutionary, it would say REVOLUTIONARY --> this is not yet available, but if it is, thats what it would say.
Make sure you got correct stock software installed on the phone, then in fastboot mode, use this command:
fastboot oem lock
Now it will say RELOCKED, you can't revert it to say LOCKED.

[Q] ENG S-OFF vs SHIP S-OFF

I have searched all over and I cannot find an understandable answer to this question: what is the difference between ENG and SHIP S-OFF.
When I S-OFF'ed my Marvelc with the Goldcard method, I had SHIP S-OFF. I do understand that ENG S-OFF provides more features. It also seems that SHIP S-OFF is a radio patch and ENG S-OFF is an HBOOT patch. Is that correct?
To me, SHIP S-OFF seemed a lot like the HTCDEV bootloader unlock. I couldn't even access system.img or boot.img through fastboot (I had re-locked my bootloader with theq86's tool, but still had SHIP S-OFF.)
HTCDev is way more limited. ENG is short for engineering. Therefore, you must have an ENG HBOOT to have ENG S-OFF.

i`ll tell you
when you s-off it means that you can have total control over the nand and can write anything to the phone, and the s-on s-off imformation is stored on the radio partition of the phone, with the simlock and whatnot.
having s-off means that you can flash any hboot, but that hboot will be restricted to what kind of hboot it is.
for example. stock hboots will usuall not have fastboot commands enabled at all. where as the htcdev hboot does have fastboot commands enabled.(if all of them, i dont know) the htcdev bootloader unlocking system wont s-off your phone but when unlocked it enables you to write to the rom, recovery and system partitions.(i think thats right) the main thing is that it doesnt let you flash radios, and *shouldnt* let you access the radio partition at all, or else you could just s-off. (thats what the wildfire s-off campaign hopes to achieve)
but, the big man, the eng hboot, short for engineering hboot is what is used by the htc developers to issue fastboot commands to the phone, including s-on s-off command. what people want usually is to gain full s-off by any means the can and then flash a hboot that is fastboot enabled so the can use these commands.
something to note though, once you are s-off i think you can flash the htcdev hboot and use these commands without needing to unlock it. but that is speculation as i xtc clipped and i own the old wildfire (buzz)
hope this helps pal
The htcdev hboot has some fastboot commands built in, but only some. The eng hboot contains many more.

[Q] I can't root my HTC DHD

Hello, i'm strange , but popular problem, i can't root my DHD.
I tried AAHK but after download and put ruu on my sd card DHD restart and i get red triangle. AAHK say a must do: V+ ald power i click reboot, i did this and second time red triangle, after this same it go to bootloader and nothig do, AAHK says to try again hack if downgrade is succesful, but downgrade isn't succesfull. I tried wih goldcard method too, but in bootloader isn't happened too.
I read this:
"Downgrade Image Won't Flash
If the downgrade image won't flash from hboot, it is because you did not read above. Relock your bootloader by typing fastboot oem lock into a terminal/cmd prompt, then rerun the kit."
But my bootloader is already locked
Bootloader:
*** LOCKED (OOW) ***

HTC Sense 3.0
number 3.13.110.4
I think the problem may be in LOCKED OOW and S-OFF, but i buy this phone with it.
Please help me, if you speak Polish please answer in this language
had the same problem download stock rom with baseband 1.32 or less put the rom on the root of the sd card now use andriod control to put ur phone in bootloader after the installation finishes use visionary plus to root the phone hope this helps...

[Q] How to upgrade JB Firmware with a S-Off HOX

Guys,
I'm trying to get my JB flasher tool to work with S-Off devices. (Mine is S-On so I can't test)
Can anyone with a S-off phone that's upgraded the FW let me know the procedure. There seems to be confusion about which commands work with a locked bootloader and S-off so don't speculate, only respond if you know it works.
Specific question:
If you have a CID of 11111111 does it need changing to a compatible CID from the androidinfo.txt? If so, how? Does the bootloader need to be unlocked?
Can the bootloader be unlocked without htcdev code? If yes, how?
Can all fastboot commands be run with S-off but a locked bootloader?
Thanks
DO NOT UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER!!!!
You will have to add the Super CID to the android-info.txt before flashing but other than that it's the same process as S-ON users

As easy as that. Thanks:good:
PS So S-off will ignore the broken signature?
Also, if someone has already unlocked their bootloader (due to not realising the power of S-Off ), I assume it'll need to be relocked before installing the firmware.zip?
PS Can boot.img be flashed via fastboot if its locked on a S-off phone?
Also, can I replace the recovery.img with CWM in the zip, or even just remove it. Same goes for the boot.img
If you're S-OFF you basically have the same rights as someone with an unlocked bootloader plus more so you can flash CWM/boot etc. through fastboot without unlocking the bootloader. As you said, S-OFF ignores the signature. So long as it's a proper update.zip it should flash without issues (I should qualify this by saying I'm basing this on my HTC Sensation and what I could/couldn't do with S-OFF. If I had an S-OFF One X I could give you a 100% answer)

[Q] Bootloader unlocked, s-on, want to get s-off

Hey all, I got my One the day it came out so I was lucky and was able to unlock the bootloader through htcdev. I haven't wanted to get s-off until now since I was pretty content to have the bootloader unlocked and s-on. I was looking into the rumrunner s-off but I wasn't sure if since I already unlocked the bootloader if I could use that method. Currently I am using CM 10.2.
In fastboot, here is what my phone reads (if that is at all helpful):

I know for a fact you would have to go back to stock everything. I would take a look through the original thread I know this has been talked about before in there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2473644
thanks for the reply. I looked through the thread and couldn't find anyone that was in the same position. Maybe I'm just bad a searching but I did look through the thread already.
Look around page 8/9. From the looks you need to go back to stock with the stock kernel for it to work properly.
Thanks again. I haven't been able to find the stock files anywhere. Any suggestions?

Does the phone not go past this screen?
Did you update the phone before this happened? It looks like someone's tampered with the phone and tried to relock it while running a custom operating system, in return the phone will throw a Security Warning.
Head over to www.htcdev.com and sign up, unlock bootloader.

Can't be, the bootloader is still originally locked, the flag on the bootloader should say relocked already if they did that. I think it's a issue with the battery as it seems very low looking at that message a bit down below.
Never advise people to unlock a "locked" bootloader because it could break potentially good warranty !

All very true, knowing how hboot firmware works; Security Warning seems to show up when the /system partitions been altered. But this seems new.
Here Katie, try to install this on your phone: http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe you will not require a bootloader unlock. You're going to have to run this using a computer, if you get "phone not detected" issues, install this: http://www.mediafire.com/?eqrqb44r3ot18g1
Good luck.

You can't mess with a system on a s-on hox without a unlocked bootloader or s-off, so it should say relocked in any way. Even if it was s-off, making an s-off hox back to locked and s-on will proper brick the device !
That ruu will not work. The device is s-on and has a hboot of 1.72 and you can t downgrade a hox that is s-on. That ruu contains a Hboot of 1.39.
@katie1
Save yourself the hassle and don't try the ruu, i already know the outcome. You have 3 choices
1: turn the phone off via the fastboot/bootloader menu, if it doesn't turn off or charge you can try the battery charge script via fastboot. Download the following file and place it in the fastboot folder on the pc and execute it with the phone in fastboot usb mode (bootloader)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/aaah8gqz8j024xz/Batt script.bat
It will continuously reboot the bootloader and charge the battery. It's worth to try......
2: claim your warranty at the seller (at least contact the seller about this issue because it can't be your fault at all)
3: unlock the bootloader via the HTC dev site (which may break your warranty) and flash a custom rom. But you need to get the device charged first, see #1
I would go for option #2 first

You already had an unlocked bootloader so unlock it and flash a custom recovery, from there you follow procedures to install a new rom.
