[Q] I think phone speaker stopped working

Hi! I have an EVO with Synergy ROM and I have it installed a long time ago. Today I noticed I am not receiving any sound at all, nothing from music, ringtones, speaker while talking, etc.
I have checked all settings, volume, etc.
Does anyone had that problem before, and if so, Have you fixed it?
Thanks!
First step in troubleshooting when you are running a custom rom is to make a nandroid backup and flash a stock rom. This will rule out if it's software or hardware related. If that doesn't help, your speaker is blown.
Blown speakers are an easy fix on the EVO. Just look up your closest Sprint tech store and let em know there is a blown speaker. Don't even worry about unrooting. Let em know you will take a "used" or not new part and they will probably do it for free if you don't have insurance...
If that doesn't work they are pretty cheap, you can get the speakers from Globaldirectparts.

[Q] No Sound In Call

There is absolutely no sound when I make a call or receive a call on my Evo 4g. The sound works fine on speaker and notifications and ringtones work as well. I recently rooted it using the revolutionary method and cant seem to figure out the issue. I have been using Mikg rom 2.61 but have tried flashing back to stock.
Any Ideas? sorry if this has been posted before
It's probably a hardware issue. I had an old slider phone that did the same thing, only worked on speaker.
You can unroot and take it in to Sprint and have them take a look at it if you can't find another solution.

well i'm confused because the sound works on everything else so it makes me think that it isn't a hardware issue. I however have no idea and would appreciate any ideas how to fix this
Did u make sure your incall volume was set in settings as well as thru the volume rocker I've found a few ROM's that had incall volume in the tweaks and even tho my volume rocker was up it was still really quiet until I turned the volume up in tweaks/settings

i recently had the same issue. when i answered the phone it went straight to speaker. i couldnt find any solution in the settings. before making a drastic decision like switching ROMS. i decided to shut off my phone. unplug the battery for a minute and rebooted. that was the soluiton. sometimes we as moders overlook the obvious.

The volume through the earpiece and the volume through the speaker are different speakers, unless I'm mistaken. Your notifications, ringtones, music, and putting it on speaker during a call all use the speaker on the back of the phone. The in-call volume is the only thing that uses the earpiece. Even if the two speakers are connected, it could still be a hardware issue.
There's an app that controls volume, and it has an option to turn the media volume lower than 0, which then routes the volume through the earpiece. I don't remember the name or where I saw it, but if you can find it then you could use it to diagnose.
If you run an RUU and the problem still persists, then it's most likely a hardware problem. At that point I would unroot and take it into Sprint for a replacement... unless you think you can replace it yourself.

I'm having the same issue, but it was working before I rooted it with revolutionary. After unrooting it stopped working back to stock. Why is that? Mind you I am now with metro pcs and the evo is new.
Do you guys have a car symbol in the notifaction bar?
If not, the ear speaker is easy and cheap to replace. Just search on eBay and you'll be able to find ones that give you a screwdriver to open the evo

[Q] Buzzing Earpiece - Cant find "Voice Privacy" setting in CM9

Just got my Sprint Gnex last night, and I've only used the phone a few times today, but even with the volume all the way down, the earpiece sounds blown. Or buzzy.
I was reading a few other sites, and they said that turning on Voice Privacy from Dialer settings might help. But running CM9, I don't see that option. Does it exist? Or should I try to just replace it because it's a faulty speaker? Seems like a pretty common issue.
If it sounds like the person is talking through a kazoo, then take it back.
good day.
Don't know if still watching this but it should be in call settings. It is on my one v

[Q] Note 2 Static sound problems

Hi,so my gf's Note 2 arrived today, but it seems to have a certain hiss problem. Whenever she enters apps, clicks on something or does anything, the back speaker starts buzzing for like 4-5 seconds. Same thing applies to calls aswell, just this time, the buzz is nonstop(in the ear speaker). Plugged in the headphones, same thing. I have a Note 2 myself, but mine has none of these problems..
I swear to god i googled it in so many ways but i didnt find anything that could help me,this forum is my last resort. Any help besides "send it back" or "send it to a service" is more than appreciated.
Oh i do have to mention, this one time she was talking on the phone, the damn thing stopped. No hiss whatsoever. But obviously it recurred..
Please help?
did you try factory reset?

Dual notification sound on Bluetooth

Ok I wasn't sure exactly how to title this, but when I'm connected to Bluetooth, I hear two notification sounds when I receive one. For example, I receive a text and my phone makes the sound as well as my car's Bluetooth speaker. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Hate to bump an old thread, but I just got my pixel 2 xl yesterday and am having the same issue. All notifications play twice, once on phone and then a second later through car speakers. Can’t figure out why. Any info? Thanks!
It's sad that this doesn't bother anyone. I don't even have a Pixel 2 XL. I don't have this issue on my stock ROM, but any custom ROM based on AOSP has this behavior. I understand that most people seem to like it this way, but I'm disappointed that there is no option for the rest of us.
I mute my notifications when connected to a Bluetooth speaker.
