Where does one acquire that many cards without their packaging? Seems shady to me.

When you get your Sandisk 32gb micro sd class 4 card try putting 16+ gigs of data in it. The moment you get a pop up that say "Not Enough Space" or the data fails to transfer on the card, then you have been had. Good luck. I purchased micro sd and usb flash drives in the past from Ebay and have been scammed before. I used my credit card so I didn't pay anything.
You should wait for Fry's Samsung 32gb micro sd class 10 cards to go back on sale for 34.99. They are on sale every other week. Don't believe the $50 retail price for these class 4 cards, which is a joke.
Seemed kinda shady until I saw this:
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GB-...JYCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334366622&sr=8-1
And that's with prime shipping. Just grabbed one.

Just for the record, I wasn't "had", it really was a 32gb card, i have over 16gbs of music alone on it, people just need to know the tell tale signs of a fake sd is the bottom line.

I just found THIS 32gb micro SDHC memory card (CLASS 4). Has anyone purchased one yet? I'm real tempted to get one but am a little uneasy spending this much for it to just be a fake. Doesn't Amazon protect you even when you buy from their resellers?
UPDATE: HERE is the review page for the company selling them. I don't know how accurate it is but the second review from the top is most likely about this card.
never heard of topram brand before, and $170 isn't exactly a bargain... especially if it turns out to be a junk card

I didn't say it was a bargain...
I purchased a 16gb class 4 card from topram. I used it in my hero (with A2SD) and now use it in my evo. The card works well and is the correct size (I have filled it with around 15.x gb to test).
I think I paid $18 for the card. When I need more space I will buy more 16gb cards before I would spend that much money.
edit: the card holds 14.92gb.

Just curious, what file table system do you use to format these cards to work with most cell phones. FAT32, FATex, NTFS? Or do you use the internal phones format utility?

If not using a2sd (i'm not on my evo, plenty of space), I do FAT32. I haven't had any issues, movies play well, pictures save quickly.
Just get the 32GB Sandisk from Verizon. It writes at 5 mb/s anyways.

Actually, Verizon screwed me over one too many times so I won't have anything to do with them. If you have to ask me, I'd say don't deal with them. Other people seem to have good experiences with Verizon so I guess they just don't like me. I must be flagged or something in their system. Anyways, I go elsewhere.
I'm gonna wait 'til 32GB Class 6 cards are ~$50 bucks, then I won't feel bad about missing out on verizon's screw up.
I would never buy this.

Gonna have to wait for 2 years at least. If you haven't noticed, 32GB standard SD cards aren't even breaking 32GB/$50 yet. Let alone a Class 2 32GB MicroSD, which has only been out for a few months.

Do not purchase a 32GB micro SD card from ebay. You will get a 2GB card, relabeled to 32GB. It'll even appear to be 32GB when you put it in, as they hack the firmware on the card. But try loading a full 32GB on it and it won't work.
Buy it from a reputable dealer. Yes, there are some legit cards on ebay, but fakes are a RAMPANT problem there.
Any legit microSD 32GB card will work. I'm using the Kingston class 4, found here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139391
He should be ok buying one off ebay since ebay and paypal will refund if it's not as advertised. They often do miss label the class though. I bought a class 4 off ebay and tested it, and never reached over 1mb transfer rate.

Well, if one's willing to take that risk and hassle, yes, they should be able to get it refunded. Personally I just don't think it's worthwhile. I think that the odds are more likely than not that a "great deal" on a 32GB card (<$50) is going to be a 2GB card with a "3" printed in front of the 2 and a hacked firmware. The ones that are going for closer to $100 are probably legit, but the newegg card I linked to goes for $100 and you know what you're getting.
If you decide to do it, be sure you test the card by filling it COMPLETELY to make sure you get the full 32GB (minus what you lose to marketing BS...a "32GB" card should give you a little shy of 30GB (29.88GB on mine). What it formats at means nothing. You need to actually fill the card with data to know for sure. There's a program called h2testw that can do this test for you.
I have a scan disk 8gig sd card, the one that came with the phone. I'm looking to upgrade the sd card. I have two questions (I did search on xda sorry if I didn't see this question answered already)
1) What's the highest gig the Evo 4G will support?
2) What type of sd card should I get, like company name and all that?
Thanks.
32gb, san disk class 6
There really isnt a best card, just get the highest class you can afford.
The one piece of advice though, do NOT buy memory cards off ebay. 80% of the cards on there are fakes. Purchase from an authorized retailer, like newegg.

The company that has had the most positive results is SanDisk. Not all packages will say what class the card is so look for a "C" with a number inside of it. 10 is the best right now but SanDisk ones are hard to find. Like a previous poster said, Class 6 is the most popular and fairly nicely priced.

Unfortunately, it's not just eBay. Both CircuitCity (when they were in business) and most recently BestBuy have actually had fake SanDisk cards ON THEIR SHELVES. That's pretty brazen by the forgers.

Because SanDisk seems to be such a big target for forgeries, I switched to Kingston for my memory cards in my phone, tablet, camera, my kids' Nintendo DS, etc. I've been very happy with them.
Just recently I got a 32gb Class 4 Patriot for under $40 (for my Acer A500 tablet) and I'm very happy with its performance. So don't overlook Class 4 if money is a bit tight because it will get you a much bigger card for the money that still does the job well.
I have a 16GB Class 4 Kingston in my HTC Evo 4G and currently have it partitioned for running Synergy RLS1, which is also performing very well.
Hi I'm planning on buying a microsd card for my ATRIX. I want a 32gb one. Ive never bought one of these before so I dont know much. Can someone recommend a good one that would work with the ATRIX?
I'm buying off of amazon, so if you can, try to include links to amazon with the product.
Thanks in advance

I just purchased the SDcard I quoted above, and by all reviews it surpasses the advertised speeds. Well worth it for $36 including shipping.
And remember...
The new(ish) Sandisk 64GB microsd also works in the Atrix. Got mine last week.
A little pricier... but you can NEVER have too much storage!
Using the SanDisk Mobile Ultra 32GB microSDHC Class 6
happy with the performance, i haven't tried the 64GB card yet but i guess i will have to soon..

Hi. I've been following the threads about 64gb msd cards with interest and, as a new note user, there is one thing that still worries me. Are these cards reliable? I've read so many negative reviews where a card dies after a few weeks/months. People have frequently lost precious data 'cos they got no warning of this (yes, I know you should keep backups). Can those who use them tell me how long you have been using a specific card for? Are Samsung cards more reliable in the long term? Just can't make up my mind whether to risk it and go for the larger capacity. On the other hand, I've also read some similar tales of 32gb cards failing after a very short time...

I just bought the Sandisk 64gb micro sd card at microcenter computer store in NJ, also came with the adapter to fit into, for a price of $59.99 + tx.
I removed my 32gb card copied the info from it, to my computer desktop, then I transferred that info to my new card, Then I installed into my Note 10.1 and wallah works perfectly,I did not even format it, I used it right out of the package, Hope this helps, Plus I thought the price was Great, Ive been looking around for one,and when I seen Staples had one listed for $120.00 YIKES.. 1/2 the price at Microcenter ,

Thanks for the info! Yeah, that difference in price is a real shocker!!
I live in the UK, though, so can you tell me the product ref of the card, or post a pic of the packaging? Then maybe I could match it up with one on Amazon uk. We don't have a Microcenter in this area.

That's exactly what I'm worried about! Sorry to hear that! Seems there are a lot of faulty cards around and I've read many such comments in reviews on Amazon. Even 32gb cards, which you'd think would be more reliable, maybe. Can you tell me more about the cards I.e, were they both the same product code and bought from the same place? Did you have any trouble replacing the 1st one?
