there's no perfect radio for everyone. Try out a few of the recent ones and see what's best for you.

I've had best results with ugla4 hands down. Atnt Houston area.
zippity doo da.

I'd suggest UGCL1 which is the latest North American radio. For me i have seen a great improvement in signal strength and data speeds.

[BASEBAND][RADIO] SC04DOMKKD and new SC04DOMLA1

I do this post today because I discovered this radio, flash it in CWM recovery and I have awesome results with it in download and upload, stability, and more...
It's not originally for the I9250-model, but for Japanese NTT Docomo Galaxy Nexus (SC-04D), which should contain the same hardware.
It works...Test it...Enjoy...

Works here indeed.
Do we know anything about when this release was created?
My GNex is GSM, VODAFONE FRANCE, and this radio boost really my connection, that's really awesome ! When I go to the countryside, after with edge reception, now 3g @ 1200 kbps down !
In my home, after 2200 kbps down max, now 2900 kbps down, fantastic !

Works good for me 3/4 3G all the time, with KK1 i had 1/4 or even Edge.. and i also lost my connection dropping all the time with Android 4.0.3 and KK1
I don't lie, I think you see that, lol... Happy to share this very good baseband...

I tried this one out for me:
Ping dropped from 130 to 90 and data was extremely stable with 2 bars stable like you normally see with Wi-Fi.
The rest can say.

You should upgrade to the KL1 radio, kk1 is old.
###########
Now on this one (compared to the kl1): ping slightly faster, download horrendously slower (0, 57 mbps - kl1 gives me 2,3 mbps), upload more or less the same. Back to kl1 for me..
Tested at the exact spot & on full signal. o2 Germany
To Vangelis13 :
I'm very surprised by your results for this radio, I've try before KL1, good radio but the best for me is SC04DOMKKD, after one week of try for both...

It obviously depends on network coverage and country - not everyone is going to get the same results
I'm happy to stick to 'proper' i9250 radios as I'm getting awesome battery life with it
This radio works with canada aws bands?

As a person living in California, which radio should I use?

I'm using the XXKK6 Radio and that is for GSM/Euro, but the UGK radio is for North America. Would it be recommended that I use that or what?

Try both and see what's best for you. Seems like you'll see people with both reporting good results.
I'm in WA on T-Mo with xxkk6 and I get great speeds and pings.
Nancy Pelosi - She transmits on all frequencies - runs on zero cylinders and possesses not a lick of common sense.
Sorry - couldn't resist.

Simple wireless and nexus

Update: Solved
Thank you, Flashed UGLA4 and am having no issues now. Before I was dropping signal left and right. Was starting to wonder about Samsung products. I prefer HTC but wanted my third Nexus phone..............
So If anyone is having data dropping in and out with T-mobile Flash Base band UGLA4 and all is good.
The baseband that your running isn't the best, have a look here and try the latest release: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405345
Are there newer versions of this base band?

That's not exactly a rule. They do operate on a higher frequency that doesn't penetrate buildings very well, but that doesn't mean that you'll always get bad reception indoors...
OP, you should try some different radios and see what's best for you. Easy to flash and test.

While I currently use AT&T I have done quite a bit of testing in the East Valley with a TMO 4G SIM in my Galaxy Nexus. I'm looking to switch as soon as my contract is up. What kind of speeds are you getting? I've seen up to 8Mbps in Tempe but typically saw 1-6Mbps in the Valley.
I tested with UGLC1 and XXLA2 radio with similar results.
I case anyone is interested AT&T averages 800kbps-5Mbps in the East Valley. AT&T service absolutely sucked last night at the Tempe Town Lake Fireworks show. There were several thousand people there though :silly:

The SGII can access T-Mobile's 42 Mbps network while the GNex can only access at 21 Mbps.

I have yet to see a phone hit 21+ let alone 42. I am getting 2-3 and my SGSII was getting average 6.

Sounds about right, you're getting half the speed on HSPA 21+ that you were on 42.
