Thread title says it all...
I am only able to access:
*Member-Found Deals
*Job Board
,for some reason. XDA states: "The XDA-Developers.com Marketplace, also known as MP, is provided free to members with at least 8 posts at XDA-Developers.com".
Yet, I clearly have more than 8 or 10 posts... Anyone know why this is the case?
Cheers.
maybe this?

Your account is too new - you need to have been here much longer before it will be active in the marketplace.

If you bothered to read the rules of XDA you would see that you need at least 50 posts and to be a member for a year before you can interact with the marketplace

Right, thanks.
Hi
I am a junior member of XDA but I have a good experience of flashing ROMs. But the problem is that I cannot post any review/reply about that ROM due to this policy by which you should have minimum 10 posts. I understand that development-purpose threads are for developers but this policy restricts us to do any sort of development-related discussion even if we are capable of doing so. So I would request XDA to please remove the policy. Thanks.
Oh great. Another one of these threads...
It's only 10 posts. It's NOT 50, 100 or anything. It's ONLY 10. You're already half way there so go and help some people in your devices Q&A section to get your other 5 posts.
If your excuse is going to be that you haven't got the knowledge to help people out, then you have no need to post in development.
In fact, I pretty much guarantee you'll have nothing relevant to post in a development thread anyway.

No full-form.
XDA was a HTC device back in the PDA days, and that device was responsible for the birth of this site. More Info.

If you can contact an administrator or senior mod, they may be able to help lift your restrictions. But you have to be able to convince them that you are knowledgeable. This is not guaranteed. Easiest thing to do is to hang out in the General Forums and help other new members so as to attain your 10 posts.
I'm personally tired of threads like these. Funny, I don't see anyone anywhere complaining about lifes rules. What's the difference here? Everyone here had to adhere to this rule, why should you or anyone else be any different? I just don't get it...
Ohh!!

Well, removing isn't really an option, that would allow idiots to spam noob questions after 1 day.
But I've been here since mid 2011, been reading a lot, just not posting anything.
And I still have to meet the 10 posts rule. Maybe it's an idea to have either 10 posts, or being on the forum for a certain amount of time and have an x amount of pageviews or something.
Nonetheless, rules are rules, and rules are not to be broken :good:
For all you 10 post whiners in this thread, have a look at this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2166989
A thread created by a new member. 4 of his 5 posts are uuseless threads ffor which answers can be easily found by a bit of searching, what would happen now if this Guy was let loose in the development forum? I am not saying that all of you are like this. I have also seen some members whose first post was an extremely informative thread, but that's at a minority. Rules are rules and they are there for a reason, i realized this after staying on xda for more than 1.5yrs

No, and no. Xda has nothing to do with Google. We're not just an Android forum. There's lots of other forums for Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, even Windows PCs, as well as several other mobile OSs.
Android is just the most common platform for our users.
Just have a look here to see what's on offer...

so they had read in the image ..
the nesecita our help by sending PM to manager (eagleeyetom) to withdraw its decision and that it was unfair ..
I hope all Xplayers community support it ..!
I don't understand why XDA moderators closed their thread but I think that it must have been for a good reason...
Anyway why is this topic on the development forum ? I think general discussion is the right forum for this.

What happens is that on your page .. the developer says that those who donate, will be able to have the firmware before, but also later, release them FREE to the entire community. I mean that's just to support and encourage hard work.
oh and it's true ... You're right I did hurry and did not realize .. Moderators please move this thread to the General section please ..

The application for RD covers more than "Did you release anything?" It also asks how you will help the community in general. Only XDA can sell the work developers contribute here. It's a lot like a university saying they own the rights to your projects. I don't think either side is right, but you know what you're signing up for.

But surely there've been Portal Posts promoting paid apps made by members of this place, that XDA does not profit from? Besides, XDA can't possibly sell an Android ROM, right? I'd like to get the full story on this; I don't like the sound of it at all. What the heck happened that could possibly justify their abuse if it isn't your reason?
well he is going to release a free version after one month
developer of dixperia roms did something like this too but why no one told anything to him?
XDA doesn't seem to be on the right side of things on this.. atleast they don't sound like they have a logical reason to be right.
Overlay team was doing right,.. that's my opinion.

They do have an area for announcing paid software, but that's the only place it's permitted.
XDA doesn't sell ROMs directly, just advertising and stuff like that.
There could be 1000 reasons, but they're really between the dev and XDA. Only one side of the story is given by a blog post and most people aren't going to admit they were wrong and then ask for donations.

Well known Recognised Developer team that works on 4.4 for Xperia 2011 devices(including xplay), has built their own 4.4.2 firmware. They offer an early access version to people who donate $5 on their website. After 1 month, it all becomes free to the public. Apparently XDA didn't like that, and revoked their recognised developer status and deleted the thread. The development team is asking us to PM the forum administrators and show our disagreement on the matter.
Also, achtojan hasn't posted anything in the past 3 days on xda since this happened, can't blame him.

XDA FORUM RULES - #11
So basically they should have just made the mandatory donate version on their personal website, then when it goes free they could have posted it on xda and still accept donations. The rules aren't very well laid out concerning this. It certainly doesn't justify revoking their RD status.

They didn't technically break rule number 8. The development team isn't saying "donate now and in a month you will receive it". They're saying donate now and receive it immediately, or wait and get it for free. Or is that still not allowed? I've seen many paid services on XDA, I guess the teams main mistake was posting it on XDA instead of just their website.

The problem is, that all of they're firmware can only be obtained for a fee. That is against the rules. If they posted a link to a donate and free version then it would be fine, but everything they linked to is for money. Not OK.
That makes sense. If that's really the case, I'm on XDA's side.
Below each thread I think you can find a link saying Submit to XDA Portal. Just curious what does it do? When to use it?

If you believe a thread is worth to be mentioned on https://www.xda-developers.com/ you can share/submit this thread to the "News board" where it might be posted/mentioned after evaluation. By the way: The feature is not available (at least I haven't found it yet) in the XDA 2013 style I use.
