Cow ROM is a customized ROM. It has been deodexed, zipaligned etc.. It is no longer like the Stock ROM. Update is only for Stock ROM.
Does this value pack really make sense for us? Facial unlock is not that robust.
Hi, my friend just bought this mobile but stock rom is a bit slow and he want use custom rom. Which rom should he use?
Try using hybrid 2.1

i would prefer creed's rom v 2.0 (with 14 toggles and boot animation fix) along with tweakv6 scripts by [email protected] and a pinch of unneeded system apps and services frozen by Titanuim back up = 1.8k+ atuntu
repencis v3 & hybrid v4 are the best
Creeds Rom !
Hi guys!
I'm new to Android. Just got my SGY last April 3 and still learning. Although I have downloaded and installed apps/games. I'd like to learn how to improve the ROM. I have also updated my firmware to the latest DXLC1.
Would anyone here want to guide me through? Also, what would you guys recommend in making my SGY faster? Lastly the SD card suddenly "removes" by itself from time to time. I have to press the power button for the SD card to come back and scan.
Thanks!
Im using creeds v2.5 its nice but the status.bar sucks
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA
Install creeds Rom v2 then just install the little update v2.1
It will be the best
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA
install creed's rom v2.0/v2.1 for bug free or repencis v3 with update 2.0.
Im using terma with buzzrom statusbar green and adw launcher ex.light and fast

What is the recommended ROM for SGY?
Thanks
stock one?
This is like, the 5th thread this week about ROM preferences. Anyway, I'd recommend Repencis v3. Its pretty awesome.
That depends on you, whether you wanna stable or beautiful or fast.
Every custom rom has it's pros & cons, & also unique features.
So do try yourself, opinions differs from head to head
In my opinion hybrid 4.0
Still then I like stock for it's stability
custom rom-hybrid v4
stock-any latest one( i use ddlc1)

customized stock is a stock rom-->tweaked-->optimized-->bloatware removed-->modified to accomply your personal references. its always my favorite one.
Repencis v3.0..:''(
Nice Rom ...
What I think is stock rom does not give memory options obviously. I'm running out of memory in stock. Good or the best option is to go with custom rom like creed or repencis which supports partitioning of sdcard IMHO.

i dont get why do rom devs choose older firmwares as their base rather than thexlatiest one available at the time they decided to make a rom? even compleatly new roms use old firmwares.....
lol misspelled question -.-

It depends on the dev. Devs like pratyush dont own this phone so they make a rom with whatever stock rom they get. The dev of hybrid uses latest firmwares because he owns that phone. But there are also some devs who used the cooked roms as their base, modify them and upload it for example evanlocked

If you're looking for a great AOSP and up-to-date features you should try KXP and Fusion Kernel.
KXP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859518
Fusion here (wifi modules are inside dthe zip file): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926299

Thank u very much....
It is also a good kernel but will it work on this Rom.. KTG anzu kernel dev says that it is for stock ics..!! Can I use this?
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
ktg works for ICS stock and other roms that are based on stock.
maybe he confused with the AOKP rom based on CM10.
and what aokp rom based on ics 4.0.4 you will install? I do not know.
I mean this Rom :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609516

ok friend?
I looked at the rom you mentioned and as I said I really did not know. It is based on CM9, CM9 soon only a kernel will work. The kernel KTG I said before will not work in this rom. The zip of the rom already comes with a kernel, but I suppose you want a better kernel but, as you can check, developers are focused on developing for CM10 and stock, then there is not much choice. I even use the rom AOKP but based on CM10 with the FUSION kernel and works very well, I have no complaints. Give it a try. Good luck
