Actually it is possible because I saw this option in ViperX ROM so it must be possible. In ViperX tweaks there is option to change default GPS app to yours. I tried it with sygic and it works only in HTC car option there was always only 2 options for google maps or HTC location and you just click on google maps and after that you had sygic as GPS app in HTC car.
sorry for my english

Allow me to rephrase. Not possible in a stock, unrooted ROM.
Sure, if you want to throw away your warrants, anything is possible. That's rather irrelevant for most One X owners.

Is there a good working navigation program? I tried with navigon but it wouldn't start. Tried out IGO with 800x600 resolution but it will only use 1/3 of the screen?
Any good tips?
Have you tried Google Maps or Navigation?
Brian
Yes but I would like to have maps in phone, not downloading when you need it cause it's gonna be expensive when drive down in Europe.
Try Sygic 11.2.3
It's very nice and compatible with ICS.

You can precache areas in google maps so you can navigate the route even if you have your cellular turned off when driving.

Good !!!!!
I use CoPilot 8.2, it is pretty good, and not so expensive. I have it on my GN right now.
If you don't Google navigation then try Waze. Social navigation

Pre cache does work great but won't do navigation mode w/o an internet connection sadly. Still very useful as long as your not driving...
Peter let us know if you find one that works well on ICS please

Interesting... figured it was good for navigation. Thankfully, I switched to VZ, so my dead-zones are almost non-existent in America

I tried Igo (build 8.4.2.139242).
It works but it uses only 1/3 of the screen, so it was very small. It said it was 800x600 resolution and thought it would stretch out to fill the screen but it didn't.
Downloaded Route 66 Follow me from market place. You get 30 day's trail.
It works but the follow me function in which you use the camera wouldn't work.
Addresses are also incomplete for Sweden so will see if I find another one to try.
Copilot just updated their app and it now works perfectly.

Sensation Xe has an amazing app called Reader which gets integrated to My Shelf, this is the best reader for epub I came across, I bought HTC One X and found this app is missing, Please can some one post the .apk for us to install in the One X phone
I had the same problem. Install Kobo from Play Shop, sign in with the account to originally purchased from and you should see your books there.

Do you stil have your XE? If yes: maybe you can use Titanium Backup to back-up the app and then install it on your HOX.

Normally you have to copy it directly in the app directory. I will check it and add a little tutorial later.
Tutorial:
- Doesn't work in the normal way... app isn't add to the application list. Sorry.

Mantano apps comes real close to Reader

I'm currently waiting on delivery of the D110 HTC car dock. Didn't really do my research thoroughly and only just discovered it doesn't appear possible to change the default navigation app from either HTC locations or google maps. As I have paid for sygic and rate it highly idea anyone know of a work around to have it as the default in car mode.
Thanks in advance.

It is possible to change but only with using a custom rom as far as I know. If you were to have ViperX rom installed there is a tweak which allows you to change from the default software. Other than this though I do not believe it is possible with the standard stock.

Thanks for the reply. I have a quandry now because although rooted I'm an ARHD traditionalist and looking forward to mike releasing his JB rom. Had another suggestion that Car Home Ultra from the play store could be the answer. Thanks again
I'm pretty sure that suite tools (optional addon when installing arhd) can change the default car mode navigation app

Yes recently found that out. Under "others" near the bottom is the option to change default navigation app. Thought my problem was solved but unfortunately made no difference

Hey there,
1. I hate the HTC car app, how could I changed it to the normal Google car app?
2. I'm on Stock 4.0.4, is there's any chance to download and use Google now?
Thank you!

Hi guys I just got my One X updated to Jellybean (OTA) and realized that the "Google Now" doesnt really work for Asian Devices. Just do the following simple steps to activate google now to its full potential
Step 1: Download play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bruce.setlocale
Step 2: Set your current locale as English (United States) or (UK)
And Bam! Your google now should start working in the google voice search app
Really? Not sure if your JB is from HTC or CM, but my phone uses CM and Google Now works perfectly fine without this.

No this is a problem for the Sense JB
thanks to this guide! Google now works on 3.14.707.24
thanks man! worked like a charm!
Mine just worked from the home button press.
Works perfect for thailand.
Thanks! Ironed out the issue for my HOX Google Now.
Does this fix the problem that google now don't talk? Because it's work fine for me except it's not talking
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
edit: thanks man, google is talking to me now
This fixes Google Now, but then it changes the keyboard as well. US English is a grayish keyboard, while English (xxxx Asian Country) is a black themed keyboard with no directional arrows (both languages had their arrows turned off, but US English still forced them on). This is my experience, might not be for anyone else.
I'm using English (uk) and it works fine for me. I downloaded more locale 2 from play and just made sure I selected matching languages in both Google now and more locale 2. Having American spelling etc, really didn't appeal to me!

Not sure why yours changed back. Mine remains English US after restart. I just tried.
Thank you so much! It worked magically! Well actually. this also solved my cards problem, which were not appearing in Google now. :cyclops:
And Bam!
Thanks, this worked for my wife's Note 2 a well (didn't have issues with my HOX)
It's working fine for me. The only thing which doesn't work that it DOES NOT talk back. This solution didn't fix it though.
