Anyone else try getting warranty replacement due to 100% battery problem? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

My screen is getting more and more blobs I think due to dropping it and so I'm wondering if the 100% battery problem will suffice in getting a replacement? Thanks everyone

Nope it wont.
Sent from my awesome Hercules
thank me.. please

Batteries aren't under the warranty so if they are "faulty", they won't replace them.

I got my first replacement claiming the 100% battery problem, but I was also within my 14 days.

Are they still doing warranty replacements? I have tried getting my phone replaced twice already because of dust in the camera and both times they shot me down. Maybe warranty is over? Either way I'm going to try again tomorrow saying that my power button is not working or something.

It's not the batterys fault tho.. It's software or hardware related..

Don't make **** up, just tell them the truth. "My screen is getting more and more plagued with these awful lines and discolorations."
Whoever said batteries aren't covered is full of it also. I have had my battery replaced by tmobile for every phone I have ever had, including this one. All "accessories" are covered for 90 days, the device itself (no back door, no battery, no headphones, or charger) is covered for one full year. Let's get the facts straight people.

Just got an extended battery, any tips?

I seen somewhere tips for calibrating an extended battery, I was wondering if I could get some advice. Also I'm running Synergy RC2 GOD MODE.

-Charge battery to 100%
-In recovery, wipe battery stats
-Lets phone die [so that it automatically turns off]
-Charge back to 100%, use as normal
Try juice defender also

I use juice, I just need to charge this baby up and let it fly.

I had the extended for awhile i couldn't get over the bulk of it .
Have a hero and a TP2 so i just keep 2 charged batterys at a time and switch
I found the cheap ones work just as-well as the 60 dollar ones at best buy aslong as you condition them
I only paid $13 for this battery. I haven't even seen it's full potential yet. I'm a bit worried cause now I cannot use a case for it..but gives me more reason to try going red with it. Anyway, I was switching between 3 batteries and it wore out
My back. It was convenient yet annoying. So these batteries just need some conditioning?

I got mine for 8 dollars on Amazon lasted 2 days all i would do is calibrate at 100% completely drain then repeat for the first few charge cycles.
Worked like a charm just couldn't get over the girth
Hmm I see. I can get used to it, I just cannot have it in my pocket at work anymore. And its no longer protected so it is risky but I needed a change since I'm not getting the 3D right now lol

Worth buying a damaged Gnex off Craigslist

Seller said they dropped it in water. It holds a charge but will turn off shortly after being powered on. They're asking $100. Worth it or should I pass? Sounds like a hardware problem so I don't think its fixable without dishing out a lot of money.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I think you answered your own question. I'd say its definitely not worth it considering a lot of factors like how long it was in the water, what they did after they pulled it out, etc etc...
Replacing the logic board is cheaper than replacing the screen, so as long as the screen isn't cracked it shouldn't be that bad. However, you're not going to be able to easily find a replacement logic board yet. If it is well and truly broken, your best bet is to keep the screen and housing, then buy another Nexus that has a broken screen and frankenstein it together.
I'm looking for the back housing to a Verizon one, if anyone knows where I can get parts for them?

Not a good idea in my opinion!
Its like buying a used car with some issues and spending a lot of money to fix it's known bad issues then after sometime new bad issues will come up and you'll keep fixing it and so on that if u bought a new one wit would have been cheaper! Electronics are even worst!

Cars are different, though. Any issue with an engine that completely prevents it from running is not going to be traceable to any one particular part, especially if all of the parts are really old.
These phones literally have four major components that are easily replaceable, and only two of these components are going to keep the phone from being operational. If you replace both the logic board and the screen, it's practically a new phone.

Vibration / vibrate motor dead or dying... Help

Well having the first problem with my S3. the vibrate motor seems to be messed up. It is still moving, but very messed up. Not strong at all. I'm guessing I'll have to replace the motor itself???
Anyone have this issue? any can offer any guidance? Or a place to buy parts?
Im not sure if its replaceable whitout breaking anything hopefully im wrong but unless your not an exper whit DIY guides don't bother :/

Unless you're an expert, you will probably do more damage than good. Are you not covered under warranty?
If you are, just do a warranty replacement. If you tamper with the phone tmobile will charge you full replacement cost.
If its weak, wait for it to get better. That happened to me too.

Well then, you should then get it back to where you bought it or to Samsung becaus it could be a hardware malfunction.

I bought a vibrate motor on ebay for like $10, and installed it myself. Took like 5 mins. Super easy. Now all is good!

[Q] Is this a digitizer issue?

I just got a Note 2 where I was aware that the bottom portion of the screen (about 1 inch) doesn't respond to finger touch. The kicker is that it does respond to the S-Pen. The previous owner said that it did respond to her finger until she got a new SPen for it. Then it started. It's not a huge issue for me because it is in very good shape and I got it for less than $300 bux! Just wondering if it could be something that could progressively get worse.
Thanks for any input.
It could very well get worse over time, try not to drop it or subject it to anymore physical damage. The digitizer layer is different from the Wacom layer (which is what powers the S-Pen) so you're lucky in the sense that as long as that Wacom layer doesn't get damaged, you will always be able to use the phone until you are able to afford a repair on the digitizer.
$300 for a damaged (and let's just face it its most likely a dropped phone issue) doesn't seem like a good deal.

Normally I would agree, but It is actually in Very good shape. I'm certain that at some point it was dropped and they tried to fix it . I'm actually happy with it for $ 287 bux. I see these things Sell for Close to that with damaged Screens on Ebay, and for around $250 for ones that are listed as for parts or repair,

ive always been under the impression that the warranty follows the device...seems silly to deny someone for warranty just because its second hand, if its still under a year and no physical damage.......

[Q] Galaxy S3 Shattered

Broke my screen looking for a cheap trustworthy repair service. Local place wants $300. Looked through the posts lots of tuts. but no offers of it as a service any body know of anything?

Lmao wait. Are you saying you think taking the battery out can fix a broken, glass screen? Unfortunately you have to buy a replacement screen and install it, over pay at a local store or if you have insurance pay the 130 deductable

I agree though, anywhere you send it to is likely gonna charge close to what you already found. You could Google and check ebay and craigslist for galaxy repair service to be sure though.

What screens have you been changing? It seems pretty straight forward I am just not wanting to replace the lcd as well as it can get quite expensive. The hardest part it seems is getting the class off and unstuck and cleaning it all off any tips or suggestions?
