OK, I am hoping someone can help me here.
I am using TommyTomatoe's The EVO Classic v0.0.6 Rom.
Everything is working great but I cannot get text to talk to work for texting and emails. Google Voice search works fine.
I have searched the forums and tried wiping the voice data from settings-application. I have done the same thing for Swype. Neither solution worked.
Anyone have any ideas as to how I can resolve this?
Thank you

With all the past froyo roms every one that I have tried i've gotten that new voice mail notification but there is none.
I changed my voice mail number as directed to *my phone number.
But i'm still getting the notification...
Anyone have a fix?
Thanks
Just changed my voice mail number again. Now with out the *!!! Still getting notification..... seems like no one has a positive fix for this....
In the RC1 thread, cyanogen posted that they have a temporary fix and it will be in tonight's nightly. They are investigating what the actual issue is (apparently it's something with the way Sprint handles things).
Oh okay. Thank you for the info.
Finally get a straight answer.
Hey guys!
I have browsed through many threads about getting Sprint's VVM to work on Cyanogenmod, and I can't get it to work.
I've installed two different versions of the program, got the text messages from 9016 saying that it was successful, changed the *86 to my phone number, (with and without the *), and cannot get it to work. AND, Google's VM doesn't work either.
Do you guys have any input? I need this to work, and I'm having a heck of a time!
Thanks!!!
Anybody know? I still haven't been able to figure out how to fix this, and have been missing many calls while at work, and not getting any voicemails!
Good luck on getting an answer. It would be real nice if some one could start a thread on how to do this.
The answers are buried in THOUSANDS of posts throughout the CM threads.
For those of you all that respond with "just use Google voice"... some of use don't like Google Voice.

I have it working on CM6 Final. I flashed SPRINT_VVM-signed.zip and installed Sprint_VVM.apk and it worked fine for me. I still get the text notification, but the Voicemail app still works like it should. I know that I can block the texts from appearing, but they haven't bothered me enough to do so. I am attaching the files I used, I hope they help.
Sorry couldn't help ya, I had both VVM and GV working before settling on GV.
I simply cannot get Sprint's VVM to work. Nothing worked.
I finally got Google Voicemail to work though! I've been trying to get this to run on my Hero since last year!!!
I like it, and it WORKS... So that's good enough for me!
So made the awful mistake of trying to use google voicemail and I absolutelY HATE HATE HATE it. I've tried to get rid of it uninstalled the AP even did a wipe and reflashed my rom but it still highjacks my SMS. Messages and my voice mail.
God I HATE this application please help me!!! I've searched and tried everything I can find but I can't seem to get rid of this virus software.
I just wanna use sprints vvm and SMS.
Log into Google voice on your computer and change the text settings back. If you accidentally ported your number to Google, unport it. There is an option there. I did the same before and there is a thread about fixing it.
You will get through this ...

Ever since I installed srf 1.2 I have had a problem with the voice mail app downloading anything. I get a text from 9016 ANDROID that gives me a number to call so I can access my voicemail. I have v tried to use the fix on the sprint site to no avail. Has anybody else had voicemail problems?

I also have this problem and would like to find a solution.
Same here running Synergy RC2.
I found that when I wiped everything and reflashed the ROM, all was well for a little while then back to getting texts when I should have been getting a VM on my voicemail app
I've been having trouble trying to get my voicemail notification to work. I use tdj's cm7.2 and every time I need to dial mail center to find out if I have any new msgs. I've tried adjusting in call settings and even tried third party apps like youmail, but it just wouldn't work. I heard visual voicemail was good, but I couldn't find it on the market.
Is there any way to fix this problem? or does anyone know of a better app I could try? I would really appreciate any help on this. Its getting quite frustrating.
