Have you tried HTC-Dev site to unlock the Hboot it will unlock the boot loader but will not gain you S-Off.
If you need help PM me your msn addy if you have one and i will try and help ya out

Rooting and installing custom ROM will not get you network unlock, after this you will still have SIM locked phone.

Thanks for the input, I have tried HTC dev but it won't accept any of the roms my MSN is [email protected]
Is there any software I can get to unlock the network I know it can be done with some phones ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA

Managed to achieve s-off turns out that none of the software works on windows 7 lol
Next problem to solve is just the network lock anyone got any suggestions?
I was thinking of making a backup using cwm and then rooting through it to find the file with the key in it does anyone think this would work ?
My phone is now s-off with cwm installed. Hboot 06.01.001 courtesy of rev.

Nice one for solving your first problem, unfortunately about the network unlock, there is currently no free way to get the code that anyone here knows of, we've searched through just about everything that can be searched which leads us to believe it's hidden away in a partition we cannot get to yet. There's an in depth thread on this subject somewhere, we searched and tried many different things but unfortunately it was beyond us.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium

its hidden i think in /dev/smd0 i think as i can S-On from XTC Clip with the following commands
adb shell
su
stop ril-daemon
echo -e '[email protected]=7,1\r' > /dev/smd0
if we can find out what simlock the network lock is i think its on forty as mine prints out with this command
echo -e '[email protected]?40\r' > /dev/smd0
# [email protected]?40
@SIMLOCK= 00

I can send a copy of the backup files if that would be of any use although if flashing a rom wouldn't unlock it then the file won't be in the backup so I would have to try and find the bios file for the phone and change it for one from an unlocked phone
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA

Do I need any software to read the files that are on the phone rather than the card ?
And a bit of a noob question but what is xtc-clip? if you don't mind me asking.

Ordering xtc clip tomorrow so will see how far I get with that

unlock htc wildfire?

Hello, i have one piece htc wildfire which is network locked...can anyone tell me how to unlock it?
create goldcard and flash with any wwe rom you want
Hey,
I got an unlock code off of htcsimunlocknow.com but I am not sure how to enter it into my phone. It has been flashed with CM6 RC2 and it won't ask for any sort of sim unlock code even if I put an invalid sim into the phone. I know the phone is locked with the Telstra for sure!!
So if anybody knows how to enter the unlock code I would be able to say how reliable that site is!!
EDIT: THANK GOD. I had a nandroid backup of the original rom that came with the phone so I just flashed back to that. Inserted the invalid sim after the flash and it asked for the unlock code which I entered and IT WORKED!!
Also, the site i mentioned has a live chat and the fella helping me was so patient as it took my about 30mins for me to actually pay as I was stuffing around withy my paypal and he got the unlock sent to my email about 10mins after the payment went through! I'm not sure if flashing back to cm6 will make the phone locked to one network again though :/

gold cards are fairly easy to make all you need is a spear sd card (doesnt have to be very big) heres a guide: http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/
As far as I know, with a goldcard you can root and debrand your phone, but not sim-unlock it.
If it is possible to remove the sim-lock using a goldcard, please explain how.
Confirmation
I confirm, I just spent the night flashing my new wildfire to simunlock it, the flashing finally worked but it is still sim locked !!!
Really very surprising, it means the simlock info is stored somewhere which was not affected by the flashing, which is quite astounding.
If you have any info about what to delete for that...
I unlocked my wildfire for 25 euro on the web. I sent my IMEI and in about 2 hours they sent the unlock code and it worked perfectly.

Who is your provider?? you can try unlock code from your provider and get your HTC wildfire unlocked..if not you can get it from online provider..just make a try with Prounlocking and get unlock code for your mobile and get it unlocked..
Go to a phone unlocking shop. I got one done for £15 in the uk. Or you could ask about and see if you know anyone with a xtc clip. As that will s-off your device and remove sim lock. Good luck
Also sim lock stuff is stored in with the hboot and radio and stuff.

I found a code for $9 at Nck Codes. It wouldn't work with CM7, has to put a stock ROM on the phone to unlock then flash CM7 again.

[Q] Changing isp (sim card of another company .how i s-off my WFS again?????

Well i changed sim card with one from another company that is not in the list of 'RUU htc unlock bootloader'.My bootloader is unlocked but it's S-ON.so i cant root it and i cant pt CM-7 rom that i want to. How i make S-OFF again??????
Unless you used an xtc clip you never had s-off
Sent from my HTC_A510c using Tapatalk
Why?? im from greece. i made the process of unlocking bootloader in htcdev.com using a simcard of vodafone Gr but now i changed company (cosmote GR)that is not supported and doesn't exist in the list of RUU.Now when i start the phone using vol down and power button (with the new simcard inside) it says bootloader unlocked but S-ON.
---I m not sure if it was S-OFF with the previous simcard--.
p.s Thank u very much generraly and really really congratulations to the forums of xda for the great work and action.
If you unlock via HTCDev you are only unlocking the bootloader you are not making the phone into an S-Off state.
Changing similar card will not effect your bootloader, if your bootloader says unlocked then your unlocked. Just root and install cyanogenmod 7

Ah ok .really really thanks guys for ur fast reply
And something last , which of the ways to root i should use to root it.

[Q] HTC Wildfire S not booting up

I searched the forum for such an incident and even though there were similar incidents none of them could help me see where i was going wrong. The phone was sent to get its screen replaced and the idiots at vodafone reflashed it. Ever since it refuses to pass the HTC screen. It can still go to bootloader and flash mode. I tried the simple method of putting the .zip on the SD card but it tells me CID error, I honestly dont want to send this back to vodafone i fear if it returns this time it might explode if i try to turn it on.
Summary:
1. Phone wont pass the HTC screen
2. Tried the simple reformatting method
3. ?
Any insight to this puzzle would be greatly appreciated
thanks
do you know your cid? if you do you have to open the file you're trying to flash and edit the text file that needs your cid

no i dont, and the methods of obtaining it i saw in the similar instances required the use of a CID getting app, but this requires the phone to be on and booted, which it cant do
Have you unlocked your bootloader? If you have, boot into the bootloader, enable fastboot and flash ClockworkMod Recovery, then install a ROM.
The bootloader doesnt seem to be unlocked, i'll look into it and post the results thanks
Ok by some miracle the phone is now booting but i want to ensure its stability I used the CID getter app and the CID is [VODAP102] please tell me where specifically to pop this in the readme file in the zip
I put the CID number in the android-info text file everywhere i saw that it needed a CID number and it goes to bootloader checks the .zip then return to the hboot main screen :/
Specs on bootloader screen:

Still havent made any progress, once again my plea is for assistance with this quandry
I also tried flashing ClockWorkMod Recovery and it put me back to the bootloader screen
Ok, I have been doing some reading and it seems this can be solved by making a goldcard and flashing from it, or by unlocking the bootloader, I tried both of these procedures with the relevant guides found on this site. I am now lost and confused to wether i should still try to fix it or jus throw it into a wall

I live in Jamaica but the HTC Wildfire S i got is from Vodafone Germany. I would allow you to do remote access but i wish to understand this process as I am getting a HTC G1 soon which I want to MOD the hell out off
You say that ever since Vodafone sent your phone back, your phone hasn't been booting ? First thing to do is send it back to them, if you're absolutely certain it's their fault.

[Q] Updated Radio - No Sim Card - No Service

Hi everyone,
I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction on an issue I am experiencing with my G2.
I am not new to flashing roms, etc, but I ran into an issue upgrading my radio to the latest T-mobile version (.30). I followed the instructions correctly and it updated through HBOOT and I restarted the phone. All was fine, I was connected to WiFi, T-mobile's network, and GPS locked on nice and quick. This morning, the Jelly Bean rom I had just installed last night (and tested the new radio with) froze on a black screen. I pulled the battery out and restarted and was unable to connect to the Tmobile network. It says: No Sim Card - No Service.
I've searched and tried everything I could find in the forums with no success. I tried an EFS wipe, reinstall of the rom after a clean wipe, reverting to the old radio version I had, restoring my previous Jelly Bean rom that worked fine with the old radio, and nothing seems to work.
I finally registered here and hope someone can assist me with getting my phone working again.
Thanks!
It sounds like either hardware or firmware, its possible your simcard slot randomly went bad. But before you go and replace it I would do a full partition. Boot to hboot and write down everything on that screen

Ok, I wrote everything down from system info. Is that what you meant? I am not to familiar with HBOOT besides when I S-Off'ed my device.
Thanks for the reply!
I meant write down everything here, need to confirm stuff so I don't give you bad advice.

Reading more of the post I am thinking I do not have true s-off because of my current CID info. Guess I will try that first!
Thanks again!
What method did you use to root and gain soff? If you used gfree then I would use your eng bootloader to change cid
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
fastboot reboot-bootloader
And then I would flash one of those pc10img.zips I linked you to (post 30)
If you didn't use gfree then unroot and son, then follow the xda wiki to root properly
These steps should fix your problem if its software/firmware
And if it won't fix almost for sure hardware

I am pretty sure I followed this method back in 2010. My phone has been s-off and rooted ever since. Am I not truly s-off? I am a bit confused!

Sorry, had to wait 5 minutes to edit the post!
Well I'm questioning if you are being you don't have supercid, this is usually something you would get along with the rooting process. That same post I linked you will tell you how to check, be sure you confirm as you may run into issues otherwise

If I were truly rooted, would I be able to change my CID or not?
Thanks again!
Well rooted is the wrong term, you have an engineering bootloader and so with this you can change cid, but this isn't my concern. There is true radio soff and fake soff, fake soff can cause issues when flashing pc10img.zips,
this is why I would highly recomend checking, like I said the instructions are there. Let me know if you have issues
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
Sooo...I did not unroot, root, and all that jazz again. I felt risky, installed the pc10img from the link you gave and it worked without a hitch...except it did not fix my sim card issue. I finally had another tmobile phone to test with and it was a dead/fried sim card. I had an extra, had it activated and tada! It worked. I am enjoying the new recovery though compared to CWM.
Thanks again for your time and help!
Well I'm glad it all worked! Yeah it seemed like hardware and I'm glad it was the chip vs the phone!

Well according to your own post you already have hboot 2.00.0029 which is the one from htc dev, you need to unlock it using the unlocktoken.bin from htc dev, you did follow ALL the instructions at htc dev including the email they sent you,?
Once you unlock bootloader flash a custom recovery best one is probably 4ext
Flash a new new rom then flash the boot.img.
Look around the forums for more info.
