[Q] Kernel for stock rom - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Is there any kernel that is recommended for the stock rom on the HTC Wildfire? Because I rooted the phone and I'd like to keep the stock rom (I got used to it) but I also want to OC the phone.
Thanks.

Hcdr kernel... I used it while I was on sense rom

Thanks, I've flashed this kernel but when I had hit reboot the phone it got till the point where it says 'HTC Quietly Brilliant' and it got stuck there. I've left the phone there for about 15mins and it didn't change... So do you have an idea of what I did wrong?
Anyway has someone else also got a kernel that is recommended to use with the stock rom?
EDIT:
I've installed the InfinityPLAY kernel and noticed that my wifi range has been decreased drastic. I'm here up in my room where I've always had a good stable wifi connection but now it can't even find it... If I go downstairs it finds the wifi without a problem, has anybody have an idea of what's wrong?

I'm using nFinity MC4 from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995301
And SetCPU App, to set the clock speeds. By now it is best to my stock rom

Works on sense ROM and no bad issues by now

Thanks man!
I finally have a good kernel that doesn't mess anything up and is overclockable (is that a word? ).

great, which one do you use?

I'm using the nFinity MC4 kernel from the link you gave me.

On MC4 wifi is dropping and going offline when not using for some time, when screen is off. Is it normal or should use another kernel?

I am not sure about stock but in cm there is an option to change wifi sleep policy... go to settings>wireless and networks>wifi.. press menu to select advanced settings

Phone keeps shutting down randomly

So after rooting my girlfriends g2 and installing cyanogen mod and coredroid mod the phone sometimes turns off.when my girlfriend turns on the power button it just shows the HTC screen and load from thr beginning as if you've just turned on the phone.I hear the it might be cause she gets no signal in school or something about the CPU speed....i'm not really sure but all I know is she never had it before I rooted her phone. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm confused. What do you mean by you installed both Cyanogen mod and CoreDroid mod.
it has to do with the cpu settings
I´m having the exact same issue after installing the cyongenmod 4.2. Please how to chage cpu settings?
Cyanogen 4.2..? Pardon me, but that's a typo correct? Either way off the top of my head the only app that controls CPU and is free is rom toolbox, look for it on market

If you're on a fresh install of CM, thr cpu speed isn't the issue; CM defaults to an overclocked speed.

WiFi issue with ADHD

Hi, I used to use ARHD 6.x.x and I noticed that I could not locate my home WiFi (always out of range, even when beside the router). At the time I thoyght it may be a router issue, until I tried the IceColdSandwich Rom, which found my WiFi with no problems, and seemed to have an amazing range. I just went back to ARHD 7.0.0 (I'm a big sense fan ) and once again I cannot find my home WiFi (just my home network, not any others), does anyone have a possible solution/fix for my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Note: I've tried all the "WiFi fixes" on the market, none have helped

Full wipe and new flash?!
I've tried that before with no luck :/ even went to the point of redownloading the rom

Try using another kernel?
are there any you can recommend? I've tried a few but none seemed to resolve the issue

If possible use the kernel from rom that worked. If think it's lordmod kernel. Im using it.
the kernel I am using is an ICS kernel, but I'll try using the Lord mod sense kernel (if I can find it)

AOSP kernel will not work on Sense ROMs. Or it wilk but you'll giant issues with it, like your wifi or data and system apps force closing. You can browse the dev section to get a sense kernel.

Hi if u use the rcmix v4.0 ROM it is just like sense with tweeks.it's a great rom nd I have never had any problems with the wifi nd it is by far the best rom for desire hd in my opinion.and in the tweaks u can change the kernel aswel.

I've never tried it, but I'll give it a go
edit: I don't think it's a kernel issue now, and it may not be the rom either, I tried the latest official blackice rom, and i couldn't find my home wireless network, but I found others. it's very confusing as it has always worked perfectly fine before
edit 2: okay so I pretty much cycled through every available rom for dhd and the only ones that had wifi working were the ICS ones (unless specifically stated that wifi was not working). gingerbread seems to hate my home wifi now for some reason. anybody have any ideas why?

sorry for the double post, just wanted to bump it and let you all know that the problem has been solved the channel on ny router (which was set to auto) was on channel 12, seemingly undetectable by by gingerbread but detectable by ics, so I just changed it to a compatible channel thanks for all the help though!

[Q] CM9.0.0 RC0 Camera Issues on T-mobile G2 / Desire Z

Camera is functional for pics and video but i can't turn flash OFF (whether flash is set to on, auto, or off, it always flashes), nor can I zoom in. Any help would be great. maybe It's already been solved and I'm just not on the newest beta yet? I downloaded yesterday from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492461
I guess i'm still in the noob user category so it wouldn't let me post on that thread, but he said let him know if there were any issues, and i searched for a similar thread before posting this and found none related to this version, on my phone:
HARDWARE:
t-mobile G2 / Desire Z
SOFTWARE:
CM Version:
9.0.0-RC0vision-UNOFFICIAL
Android 4.0.4
Kernel 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod
Power down, pull battery, take off back case, remove flash led, reasemble, and you're good.
Sure its just any issue with the rom, all ics roms that have a working camera are patched to work and may not be that perfect. If you still want to use this rom you'll have to deal with it untill there's a fix. Just pm the dev if you can't post in his thread. Or try another rom

Sometimes screen on during standby.

I use one of chinese Rom with Android 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1 from 10.10.2012
I flash BeastMode kernel 1.5 but version 'test', this with scary gov.
Everything is ok. Only one thing is bad. Sometimes when phone is sleeping screen turns on for a second or two and after that turns off. After a few minutes situation is repeating.
I search for answer what can be wrong, but I found nothing.
So what could I try to avoid this.
Maybe you had similar problem in past. Or what program may I use to detect what is a problem.
And sorry for my English.

Hehe no problem dude, welcome to xda
Probably cause you're using a highly experimental ROM with the Scary gov and beastmode. Maybe try reflashing. Link to the ROM?
DESTROY THEM WITH LAZ0RZ
Link to download: h..p://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=76690&uk=3858779036
Chinese page with Rom: h..p://bbs.gfan.com/m/android-5189919-1-1.html
I use this kernel because with it I can change voltages and it have 122000 minimal speed, and with scary I find battery drain when I use phone is relative small.
And with this Rom I can't do reflash without losing data. Rom when flash do autowipe.
I have recovery with original kernel, so I can flash boot from it.

HTC One X, AOKP ICS 3.5.1 Wi-Fi disconnecting

Hi,
I have AOKP ICS 3.5.1 ROM with franco r21 kernel installed on my HTC One X and I am having no end of problems with Wi-Fi. It will connect fine but then disconnects a few minutes later and I need to toggle Wi-Fi to get it working again.
Any ideas what to try? I don't really want to play around with ROMs again as I have everything just right and I have a decent battery life sorted now with DeepSleep. It seems that it's a common issue looking on forums but not sure if it's ever been resolved.
By the way, I don't really want to go to ICJ 4.x as I don't like Android 4.2....
Help?
Alex
Any ideas anyone? It seems to be more stable but still keeps connected when it wants to...
Use the stock kernel and it should work.

It's a bit hard to say, you have to experiment.
Try stock kernel (NCX).

Thanks for the responses, guys. When installing franco kernel, I flashed some modules in. Can I leave these or do I have to uninstall them somehow?
