I know there's hundreds of threads about this but I need to be sure. Is there any way for me to use my ps3 control ( or any other apart from the wii) that I can use with my emulators on my Samsung galaxy nexus??
I have read that ice cream sandwich has native use of the ps3 controller. I tried using a female/female USB to connect my controller to my phone but it won't register in any games or on Bluetooth.
Im really not confident rooting my phone as I've just got it and I'm not used to android yet.

You need to root your phone to do that. I was hoping I could avoid it. Plus i can't the compatibility checker to work, possibly because its not compatible. I'm trying to do it via pc.
Lol. Really not giving up.

The PS3 controller uses bluetooth and doesn't transmit any signals through the usb cable as far as I know.
Try pairing it with bluetooth, and then use an app to map the controls.
Thanks but it didnt work.even with BT/USB joycenter app it won't find it. And for the six axis app I need to root the phone. I don't want to root it just for a controller.

Just root it ya big baby =p
I have the sixaxis app and its the single greatest thing my phone does. You won't go back to playing touch screen games after having physical control. I seriously can't recommend it enough - rooting is simple enough for it to be well worth the reward.

Hey just trying to find out if the Samsung Galaxy Nexus can play movies directly to a TV using USB? Or through my PS3?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
using an MHL adapter you can plug right into a TV with HDMI.
Thanks mate. I'll see if I can get one at IT shop. I'll be cheering if it works!

You can also stream to your PS3 or Smart TV with DLNA applications (iMediaShare or similar).
OK that works but only with wifi.
Can't believe my Samsung TV will recognize an iPhone and not a Samsung nexus.
Cheers for the help tho every1

Would I be able to connect my Gnex to my TV using a micro USB->HDMI adapter, and then connect a Bluetooth controller and play games? Would this work or would they interfere with each other somehow? Thanks!

What kind of controller did you use? I'm having a hard time finding one, keeping reading about having to install drivers?
Anyways if this works then I don't get all the hype about ouya.

I have only tried a PS3 controller, which worked fine in my experience. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscompatibilitychecker <-- you do need an app to get it working (that is just the checker you would actually need the paid app). I am sure there are other controllers, but since I already owned a PS3 so I haven't really shopped around.
What is the hype about the Ouya? It is inexpensive. Not everyone has a smartphone or a tablet. Even fewer have one that can manage HDMI out. A lot of the ones that do, are more expensive than the Ouya, especially when you also factor in the higher end internal specs of the Ouya. Also you would have to consider the price of docks, cables, and a controller into this price.
Hello folks
I am proud owner of note 2 and been enjoying it for a while now. It has replaced my laptop to a great extent and i now only use imy laptop for stuff that needs extensive typing.
I have been tempted to by a tablet for long time now but i am not sure if I need one coz of note 2.
What is your guys take on it?
How many of us here have both and use both.
Cheers!!

Why? Why would you possibly need a tablet if you have a phablet. As for extensive typing try using a blue tooth keyboard for it.

I don't really use my Desire anymore. So that got me thinking how nice it would be if I could turn it into a remote keyboard to use with a tablet running Android. Connect them with Bluetooth and then type on the full screen.

This idea is great but i think that this isnt possible, i searched a little bit on google and i founded some app's from Google store just for this but that apps dont support our phones just Samsung models, and just new models Like SGS3 SGS4 Also Sony Xperia Z .
So this is not possible from my view . :silly:
But perhaps it could be a project for someone studying programming? Do something worthwhile while learning the ropes and perhaps pick up some donations, just a thought.
