Runnymede AIO V6.0.4.3 S.E
Baseband 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
When using gps status apk..my gps status always in spinning icon that i guess it hardware failure..but i see the gps of desire is in snapdragon chipset..is that possible..so how to repair this problem..or anywork around as i need my gps for my work...any expert member please help me..i also don't know if the system detect my gps hardware..
Install Z-Devicetest from the market and start it.
If the GPS hardware is dead Z-Devicetest will have a red X in the GPS box. If it shows a green check, click on GPS. If NMEA data scrolls, your GPS antenna is likely the problem.
I had a similar issue with my wife's GPS. Eventually it would never see any satellites under GPS Status.
I fixed it by opening up the phone and making sure all GPS connections were good. If you are reasonably handy you can follow these instructions to dismantle the phone:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXZqIjtFoAU
The GPS antenna is shown at 2:47 (it has a connector at both ends - make sure that both are snapped into place).
But before you disassemble the phone that far, at 1:49 in the video ("Remove the antenna") try the following: when you have removed the antenna you will see several copper contacts (similar to the two vibrator contacts highlighted in the attached photo). I seem to recall there were 4 copper contacts under that antenna cover. Gently bend the contacts slightly upwards - this will either ensure better contact or (as with my phone) re-establish contact. To remove the antenna is very quick.
In my case, GPS is incredibly strong after this procedure - 10 seconds max. to GPS lock inside the house.
Thank for your solution..but i found my gps antenna is missing so how to find it or replace it...
Are you saying the GPS antenna as shown at 2:48 in the video is not present?
The attached photos all highlight the antenna.
If it is really missing - which seems unlikely - perhaps the GPS antenna cable from the HD2 might work:

Yes..the cable is missing...so i gonna try to replace it..thanks for the information!!
Thanks
Thanks rete! Your advice worked. Open up my phone, made sure gps antenna was firmly in place at both ends, pulled up the other connectors you mentioned, closed the phone, booted up and it found five satellites instantly.
Really, thanks a lot man. I no longer need to consider upgrading to a newer phone!
Extremely grateful! I had two HTC desireĀ“s and I had repaired the headphone jack in both of them and was going mad as to why the GPS wasn't working.

auto Rotation not work

hi to all
i search in this thread but no have any solution. i bought one x.... phone is fantastic but auto rotation not present... i've try all (reboot service mode, enable and disable option....) but i haven't find solution for this problem... calibration functional.someone found solution or this is a hardware problem???? thanks for any suggestions and sorry for my bad english
Auto rotation in apps or at the homescreen/launcher?
Apps should work.
Homescreen/launcher - HTC Sense doesn't allow automatic rotation. You've to use an app such as Rotation Locker.
When you play a game that uses tilt controls (try Temple Run if you haven't got one), does the tilting work?
I know some One Xs had bad g-sensors that would stop working. See if it is that, and get it replaced if that is the problem.

Dear Friend,
Its an unknown error of HTC one X. I also discovered it. When it was ICS 4.0.3 it was very good. After updating to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean the problem happened. Please follow my instruction that may help you. When you will find your G sensor calibration stopped.
1. Just Disable Auto rotation from Setting--> Display Gestures & Buttons. Or you can disable your Auto Rotation from anywhere you can find in your device setting. Just Uncheck the Auto Rotation.
2. Power Off your HTC one X. Remember No Restart. Just Power Off.
3. Leave it for 10 minutes or 20 Minutes.
4. Now restart and see what is happening. Your G sensor is working or not. You may go to Camera you will find it is Auto rotating. Leave your Auto rotation Setting. Just open the Camera and see Auto rotation is working or not.
5. If it is OK now you can check Auto rotation if you want to open browser in Landscape Mode.
6. If you failed or you have the same problem you just Go to the Power and Uncheck Fast boot and again follow from number 1.
I am confident because that really worked for me. I don't know it will work for you or not. I already told you this is such an unknown Error. May be a conflicting issue with HTC one X tegra Hardware to the JB 4.2.2 Android.
Thank you.

Silly question but is the GPS turned on? Mine gets a lock in about 3 - 5 seconds. It also locks in my apt, my old infuse would never lock in my apt.
I'm running cleanrom 3.5, and with gps on I sometimes have to reboot to get a fix, even after using something like gps test to update the agps records. But after a reboot, fixes are nearly instantaneous.

I would love to help you, but help yourself first: ask a better question

I have similar problems on stock, unrooted Bell ROM. Occasionally when I open an app which uses the GPS it won't lock and the GPS icon won't appear on the left of the notification area (flashing or solid). I always leave GPS on all the time. Restarting the phone always solves the problem.

Thanks already remove the battery, turn off the battery and issue continue....
I'm having pretty much the same problem. Most of the time GPS just doesn't work. Weird thing is that it used to be fine. Sometimes a restart will get it working: sometimes it won't and it doesn't stay working for long if it does.
Right now I'm in Raleigh, NC, which is pretty much the center of the state and the weather widget thinks I'm out by the Tennessee border.
I'm used to having to clear that widget's data to make it forget a location and learn a new one if I'm travelling, but now that doesn't work.
Maps doesn't work well because it's using tower data to figure out a very rough location.
I have not tried using one of the GPS fix downloads yet because, quite frankly, the permissions they want pretty much freak me out. Take pictures? Make calls? What's up with that?
Anyone have any experience successfully resolving this problem?
