Check over in the 1.29 thread. There are reports that battery life has improved.
had the very same problems with my previous white HOX. It didnt last me half a day of moderate use, the battery life was horrible. Just listening to radio with the screen turned off and juice defender on, it drained 30% battery in 15 minutes. I returned it yesterday and got myself a new grey HOX. Hopefully this one will work properly. If you experience quite extreme battery problems you really should return it and get a new one like I did because most likely its a faulty device. It is supposed to last longer than that unless you play tegra 3 games all the time.
Did u return in to htc servuce centre??? Ie did u take a doa frm htc service centre??

Just install ARHD and see the difference. It is awesome!
Don't know why but today my battery life is just horrible ...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
For that i ll have to root my phone...?? Is
it really worth it or should i give it to service center for DOA...??
Do they give DOA for bad battery life or not.

How long are you able to surf with a fully charged battery and brightness ~50%?

Can you just post your battery stats? On my first 3 days, I had the same problem, I even felt that my phone can't even sustain my 4hours of journey on the day. But now it's standby consumption is awesome, may be several charging cycles helped the battery to settle.
We India's has to struggle with waiting to get the latest updates. So, better you unlock the device. But before that, it was too crazy in battery drain, check with HTC service center and confirm the issue. If it was really a h/w issue return the device.

1.2.9 doesn't improve battery life. Today got 9 hours before battery died, auto brightness screen on time was 3 hours 35 mins, push Gmail, push exchange, some calls, played some games. On wifi all day.
Average battery life nothing spectacular.

It shows exactly 1500? I mean the real question is what you are looking at. A good app would report design capacity (1800) and then current capacity which will be lower and will keep going down over time.
I had the same thing happen to me but I ended up getting a free battery out of the deal. I got that battery monitor it said 1500 i called sprint and told them they said come down get the right battery free of charge so I got the battery when I got home I opened up the lid and the battery in there was in fact an 1800mah but I got a free battery out of the deal so win win!

But this is a replacement phone you think a local sprint store will honor the issue or should I just call customer service??

Battery monitor Widgets is real popular so I assume it's an good app and I know bout the current but it says my total is 1500

those apps arent always right. I would give it a shot call em and tell them act like you are very dissapointed in the mistake and they will probably tell you to come right down and get one and if they ask to see the old battery when you get there just say the phone is at home and it was a real long drive down here and i am sure they will just give you a new battery. Sprint customer service has always been great with me. They are very focused on keeping there customers happy.

also keep in mind if you just flashed a new rom it takes a couple days for it to settle in and give you the battery life you would expect. When you flash a new rom the battery life can be pretty bad for the first couple days.

Hi I'm new to the x. How long are peoples phones lasting I got to charge least twice a day..bit of a joke lol
Any tips for the x
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have my X for 2 months now and on a stock rom i was charging it once per day, sometimes once per 2 days (that depended on how much i was ''playing'' with it).But when i was charging it I've tried to charge it for at least 8-9 hours.I always left it to charge through night and i had a phone for a whole day long. When you bought your X did you charge it for about 12 hours 2-3 times ? They told me at the shop where i bought it that i should do it-otherwise it wouldn't last for half of a day...Maybe that's the thing you didn't do ? Cheers
Don't know mate I traded my nexus for the x. Wouldn't know that kind of thing. I do charge her fully though. I know my nexus only needed one. Im running the x on 2 cores. WiFi not on when locked etc. Turned auto sync off. I dimmed the brightness a bit but like the one x screen so dont want to lower it to much. Might have to start turning it off of something when I don't need it

You aren't just playing with it a bit to much, since you got it recently? Otherwise, try installing ARHD Rom and Faux or Franco kernel.

rom
maybe ARHD can help
after installing this , it really increase the battery life
Not overly playing be honest.the shell and hardwares different but ROMs dont vary to much. I'll try arhd again maybe.

Try with a custom kernel also!

Try ARHD. I have it myself and the battery lives longer on my X than before
I always get about one day out of it (with tbalden's CM10 rom).
Try to run BetterBatteryStats to get a grip on what is consuming power! (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats)

On ARHD rom 7.22 with stock kernel, i can get about 4h screen on time with about 24-36 stanby time surfing, reading, twitter/fb and some navigation. Screen brightness is incredibly important, values are for brightness 20-30%.

battery sucks
ARHD rom 8.00 with stock kernel and Sense 4.1 looks like that there is better battery life.
I might try arhd.
On the off chance it would work I used a battery calibrator app (yes it doesn't always work)
It has made a difference though. I also discovered that even though the green led came on and the battery icon showed full it was actually only 91% charged. Thanks to the app I even noticed..

Yup, that's default for most ROMs. 90-100% battery results in a green light

Have HOX for one day, at first charge 26h on battery, 15% left and still running with wifi on, recent calls, sms, internet, camera. Played dead trigger about 15mins. Played with phone, set interface and all settings for personal usage, wached couple of youtube videos, played couple of songs via speaker, run 4 benchmarks (antutu ate 2%, quadrant 0%), surfed net, downloaded apps and so on..
Why the hell are u whining about the battery life. With that kind of a screen battery is great. Still did not pushed core fire to system/app. With little of optimization battery would last 2 days with medium usage. I mean what do you want?
Best experience for now, no complains at all. Had Galaxy S3, and it sucks compare to this. Looks ugly, feels ugly, Touchwiz feels ugly, why the f.uck u need SD if u have 32gb of free space + cloud .. i mean come on .. its a phone (if it had 128gb of memory and no SD slot there would be the same issue). Removable battery, i bet 1% of people have 2 or more batteries and those who need such a thing, are not buying phone quad core with 5" screen. What else? Screen got scratches, i dropped and it crashed .... Really?
There are bugs for some % of products, thats why there are warranty for god sake. On my personal experience i know only one perfect phone with absolutely no complains - Nokia 3310.
My advise, HOX! Go for it and do not listen for 95% of bull**** posted on the internet.
Its not whining its a statement mate.its fine now. There's no issue with finding out how people resolve it etc. I like my x. You never had a phone you were unsure of at first?
And yep the 3310 was bad ass I had three of them. No complaints either with that phone. Least we didnt spend so much time messing about it.

Havnt had the One X for that long but Iv realized that having a No-Sense Rom installed you can increase the battery life. I went from 2 times a day to just once a day. Of course Screen Brightness does play an important role as well.
I was wondering if some one good in dis assembly her could help with this. The one x + has a 2100mah battery with footprints of the onex but it has a faster processor. But what if there was a way to transplant its battery to the one x.Battery life will be awesome. This is for those who are good in dis assembly and I cant do it myself but this is an idea.Just like changing the razr into a razr maxx by changing the battery and back case. :fingers-crossed:
There is a thread in Accessories section with the same idea.

You want to void your warranty and possibly break/scratch your phone for 16% extra lifetime ? Just turn off 3g/wifi overnight and you will save atleast twice that.

the One X is a hell of a fone... beautiful screen and awesome dev support... battery doesn't last very long but only because I use it all the time... and why using 2G??? It is meant for 3G on the run anf WiFi elsewhere... five hours nonstop use, that is nonstop use, is pretty good!

You'd be better off with a Nexus 4, it's more powerful and much cheaper.

I thought by buying Nexus you have to commit to 2 year contract policy of an operator too.
Its cheap.
