CM7.2-20120325-gio-NIGHTLY-AROMA HELP!!!!!! - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Guys i want a step by step guide on how to install this on a stock gio rom
without the memory card being partitioned for a2sd by using the aroma installer !
i watched a video and i saw that u can choose to enable a2sd from the aroma installer itself , does this mean that we dont have to partition the sd card and by choosing to enable a2sd from the aroma installer it would do that itself ?
pls answer these questions!

no, you must manually partition your sdcard if you want to use A2SD, S2E, or Link2SD. But if you don't use it, don't install a2sd or s2e on aroma installer

as u know. . .
the basic step of using a2sd is making partition. . .
although it have to be partitioned, it is not as difficult as u think
u flash the rom through recovery, dont u?
isnt there also an option to make partition through recovery?
why dont u just try it. . . that's solved all problems!

[Q] Enable Link2SD or A2SD?

Anyone know how to enable and install Link2SD or DT's A2SD on a stock rom? I know Darkshado's method, when you need to flash simpligio without the modem. But is there a way without flashing another rom? I'm also aware of enabling of enabling A2SD for the Galaxy Ace but if I try this on my Gio, will it be safe??? Please help. Thanks for your time!
Hi,
I'm using stock froyo 2.2.1 (S5660DXKC3), rooted and using link2sd.
It very easy to install the link2sd. i suggest using class 10 microsd. Here is the step:
1. Using a PC/laptop, create 2 partition in microsd, 1st is fat32, 2nd is ext2. Set both are primary partition. i use the partition wizard home edition (is free)
2. Set the 2nd partition size not more than 1 Gb, i heard that it will cause an error if more than 1 Gb. Mine are set to 0.8 Gb.
3. Root your phone, i'm using super one click
4. Install link2sd from market
5. Insert your microsd to your phone
6. Start link2sd, it will ask for the 2nd partition. pick the ext2
7. Reboot/restart your phone
If you want to use A2sd on stock rom, use must use modified boot.img. A2sd can't work on standard boot.img (CMIIW)
And use custom kernel

To enable link2SD or a2SD on 2.2 it is very easy.but on gingerbread, you need to flash a custom kernel(such as phiexz's kernel),because of the kernel doesn't support init.d script.

Use a SD card reader!! Not from your phone!! Also you need custom kernel.
Ok first partition your SD card. Use the program call MiniTool Partition Wizard. This is on your PC. There are guides all over the web for this but I'll sum it up for youse. Make a SD-EXT with the options > Primary > Ext4 > 4Kb Cluster size
Download Darktremor's A2SD and put in the root of your SDcard. Once done plug SD back to phone. Make sure phone is off. Enter recovery and find the a2sd zip and flash. Reboot the phone and it will bootloop for maybe 2 times. Then it should have installed a2sd correctly!!
Hope this helps
merci! I DO indeed have a custom kernel (ArpegGioMod ftw) but I bit the bullet and installed Link2SD, and it seems to be performing okay.. slightly sluggish fps with Mupen64, but nothing a little OC can't fix. lol
Just for your information, you don't need to have a custom kernel for Link2SD.
I'm using it with 2 primary fat partitions on (rooted) stock 2.3.4.
And It's working like a charm.
Has anyone noticed that on a reboot link2sd starts to relink apps and sometimes some apps are removed from the phone. I have always experienced this and I have reinstalled link2sd many times, but the problem still persists.

[TUTORIAL]500MB-2GB Internal Storage

This tutorial will increase your internal memory size
my screenshots as proof in attachment!
added screenshots with english language
Requirements:
Root/Unlocked bootloader
custom recovery
-this tutorial only shows you how to install fresh version of CM 7.2 with Gapps and bigger internal storage
TESTED ON CM 7.2 AND HENSE MOD 4
other roms need testing...
This tutorial is made and tested by me on my rooted WFSFirst step:Backup your apps and settings with Titanium Backup, Make a nandroid backup and also save your whole content of SD card!
Let´s go:
1.Use POWER+HOLD DOWN to start BOOTLOADER and choose RECOVERY
2.Choose wipe data/factory reset
3.wipe cache partition
4.Advanced->Wipe dalvik cache
5.Ok,let´s go to increase internal memory size
6.Choose Advanced->Partition SD card
7.Choose new size of IM(Internal Memory),what you want (max 2GB), size depends of size your SD card, e.g I have 2GB sd card so I used only 512MB( new size of SD card is now 2GB-512MB=1,5GB)
8.In next step choose OM
9.Choose Mounts and storage->mount USB storage
10.Copy files from attachment to sd card(download CM 7.2 :here)original data2sd http://www.mediafire.com/?757066a1516tdkt
11.Now go back and choose Install zip from sdcard->choose zip from sdcard
12.Choose CM 7.2 file ,start installing
13.Next step we need to install Data2SD,which we have on SD card,so install it
14.Finally we install Gapps
15.Reboot phone
16.Restore apps from Titanium Backup
Screenshots from my phone in attachment
Enjoy it.

IF YOU LIKE THIS TUTORIAL,SAY THANKS
please test it on stock and does i need to partition my sd card before doing all this or will it do it automatically. ( btw i have a 2gb ext2 partition with link2sd )
hellnoob:you dont need to make partition before this tut like for link2sd,you will create it in recovery so delete partition for link2sd and start with clear(like with new ) Sd card
can i use both link2sd and data2sd then by keeping my ext2 partition and making a new one through recovery for data2sd??
its not necessary,to keeping ext2,because data2sd does everything instead link2sd,so data2sd is better in my opinion,
after this tutorial people are using link2sd only for deleting and uninstalling system apps, but for this activity is best Root Uninstaller
It says the data2sd zip is corrupted n doesnt let me copy it to my SD card also!
^^ yes cant even extract it
This is the original link by Jikantaru for the Data2sd installer!

How hard can it be to SEARCH...
Big thread For New Users (Rooting , Flashing,Firmwares,Mods,Tips, Tricks)
(Tutorial) How to setup A2SD
Instead of ext2 and ext3, use ext4
Download the A2SDGUI from Play Store
Install and open the app.
Press the Dalvik tab
And choose Dalvik Cache on SD-EXT
Then press Move and Rebuild, and your phone will reboot.
You now have A2SD!
if i use the app
then i dont need to flash any cwm zip file or scripts?

The app is just to enable and configure A2SD.
You need to flash the scripts through recovery to get A2SD

Help Me In Increasing My Internal Memory....

Frndzzzzzzzzz,
Am bugged with this 150MB on my mobile....
I heard Data2Sd wrks fine bt dnt knw how to use it....
Plz help me in increasing my IM on my WFS....
Thnx in advance.....
1-Partition You SD Card Using CWM (It will format Your SD Card)
2-Use link2sd Or Instal Data2Sd in recovery
Follow the link in my signature called Partitioning
Install link2sd as it is faster I think. But first U may need to unlock/s-off and root I guess.

Already there are threads about this are here... anyway it is a script to increase internal storage by using second partition in sd card.... Its simple...
Download Int2ext+ (http://d-h.st/1vK)
Make a second partition in memory card using mini tool partition wizard... (Ext2 partition, as primary) you can create upto 2GB...
then flash the downloaded zip of int2ext+ on CWM... thats all...
