I have an International Galaxy Note (White - 16Gb) and I noted that some Samsung Original Accessories have 2 versions - International and US AT&T.
For example:
1). Samsung Original Flip Cover
The US AT&T version does NOT fit in the International version, even though both have the same physical dimension. I even tried this myself in the local Best Buy store.
2). Samsung Original battery
Many Amazon seller noted that the Samsung Original battery does NOT fit the International version.
Problem is, I don't know WHICH accessories, even Samsung Original one, that have TWO versions. Can anyone tell me WHERE can I purchase the following that WILL work for my International Note?
- Samsung Original battery (not extended one)
- Samsung Original Car dock
- Samsung Original Desktop Dock
- Samsung Original Flip Cover
- Samsung Original charger

There are some websites selling the Flip cover as fitting BOTH... Not happening LOL
Only buy accessories specified for the N7000. There are far more of them in numbers than the ATT variant as they are International. I have three Hyperion batteries and cradle that fit the N7000.

Oh, forgot to ask: How's the quality and battery life for the Hyperion? Any problem? Does it last the same as the Samsung original battery?
Speck Case
I bought a Speck "Candyshell" case from AT&T for my N7000 (Box doesn't specify which Note it is for), fitted as I read in some forum.. hard as hell to take it off but fits tight. I don't think I'll see any pocket lint between the case and phone. Its perfect if you carry your note in your pocket, slips in and out better than any otterbox or tough case I've had before. Price is way off (40 bucks). I'm happy with it, i can see where it will start to break apart but, there will be something good by the time it breaks.

LOL I have three of them a cradel and wall charger and rarely use them as I get 12 hours from my phone with everything going. MAPs,FB Twi syncing 30 minutes, Gmail x2 Screen at 75%, BT on Wifi On all the time.
But when I have used it I noticed little difference. I don't play a lot of games except at night with the phone plugged in to the wall. Never watch movies on it unless I am flying somewhere.
Hyperion is a quality company with a quality product IMO. Not cheap China knock offs.
Thanks for the info! Off I go now to order Hyperion stuff!
I have both notes. The original batter for both phones are the same and interchangeable. I am using the intl battery in the AT&T phone right now.
As far as I can tell, the battery covers and face buttons are the only physical differences between the two phones, which is why the flip covers and screen protectors aren't compatible. Everything else should be cross compatible, including batteries, external cases, docks, chargers etc...

So the AT&T battery is the exact match as the International battery and a genuine Samsung battery? If yes, I'll buy one from AT&T.
It just that the AT&T Note battery is described as NOT COMPATIBLE with the Note Int'l version. For example, the one in Amazon state so, even though the battery looks the same (see pics below)

Hey tbong777,
I bought the dock from Amazon, based on the link you provided, but I noticed when I connect the dock to the AC adapter (not USB) and dock my Note, the Note show that it is charging via USB instead of AC. This ended up making the charging process really slow.
Not sure if this is an issue, but could you let me know:
1). If this happen on your dock?
2). There are 2 USB port in the back of the dock, one with the USB "icon" and the other with some other icon. Which one you connect to?
Just want to check if this is by design or defective product.
Thanks!
Just a quick update:
I emailed Hyperion, the manufacturer of the dock, and it seems they do not know whether the dock will charge at USB or AC capacity. They said they'll have to "test" this.
Doesn't exactly inspire confidence to the Hyperion product now. So I will stay away from their battery. Who knows what kind of QA they'll have if they don't even know about their own docking station charging capability.

I'm looking to buy extended battery for my Galaxy Nexus GSM version. What I understood is there are 2 types of batteries.
1. Samsung's original ones.
2. Aftermarket
Since I will use it as my main battery I won't hesitate to invest my money for good and reliable battery.
Can you tell me which one is good ?
Besides, do we have to change the back cover too ?
*Takes a breath of fresh xda air realizing I haven't been here since the first few months after purchasing my Google Nexus One*
I'd go with the one provided by Samsung. You said you didn't mind spending money on something reliable. You might as well go with the Samsung one, I think, instead of risking it with an aftermarket battery.

If you go with the normal 1750mAh you use your existing cover, but if you go for the 2000mAh you have to use a different cover, and with your standard battery you can always just stick a thin piece of expanding foam to use with the new cover instead of carry two covers around.
I also found this one

Looks good.

If I havent seen this thread in every model phone I have ever owned during my time on XDA LOL . With that being said stock or manufacturer made extended battery is always a good route to go with . Second in line is Seidio and or Mugen(spelling) . I have had Seidio's aftermarket extended batteries in the past . Their bigger cells (3500-4000) mah batteries have never failed me . I have had their "extended slim" batteries and after switching phones I pulled the sticker on it . It was the stock size Mah for their extended slim batteries . The sticker must add extra juice and the sticker price lol . Lastly you will come across the ebay / Hong Kong batteries . The ebay and HK batteries I would stay away from . Seidio and Mugen puts some level of quality control into their batteries in forms of testing and development . Also they provide accessories to fit their bigger batteries (everyone needs to make more money) . Wrap up : If you want to keep the phone its current size go stock or stock extended (adds alittle more thickness but its barely anything worth mentioning but some after market accessories will not fit "Correctly" . Or if you really want staying power go with Seidio 3800 mah or whatever Mugen has cooking up in their kitchen . Hong Kong and Ebay hell stay clear of you wont see much performance out of them . At first you will but then the "extended" life will fade quickly .

Sucks that this won't work with the Ringke cases.
Another thing to watch out for. If you go with an aftermarket battery you will probably be giving up NFC. The battery has to be NFC enabled or you'll lose the functionality. All of Samsung's batteries for the Nexus are NFC enabled, I'm not sure that any aftermarket ones are.

The back cover does not fit my phone (GT-N7000) properly. If you use a normal size battery (or no battery at all), the cover will fit. But once you put in the extended battery, it pivots over the battery because the space is too tight. This means that it is impossible to have both the top and bottom latches secured at the same time. The case is just about able to stay on with the side latches but it comes off very easily. As far as I'm concerned, this renders the unit unusable and I returned it.
A caption you cant see here is that there is an incorrect number of latches on the cover for the left margin. The original has 6 latches while this only had 4.
Are you sure this was for the international Note and not for the US version or something?

That's what I am going to assume as well. It seems that product was made for the I717 "North American" NOTE and not for the N7000 "International" version...
According to the listing on Amazon, it was meant for the N7000. The 'official' video also shows it fitted to a note which based on the language on screen and appearance of the lower keys, looks like the international version. If you Google the serial in the thread title, a number of sites quote the N7000 or i9200 (which I understand was the initial code for the Note)

Hmmmm... I wonder if you just got a defective unit OR perhaps they also make this product for the I717 variants and sent you the wrong one by mistake...
That could be the case but the numbers printed on the battery and on the box it arrived in pointed towards the International Note. Maybe I did get a defective one but I thought I'd warn you guys in case; don't commit to this unit unless you can test it properly.
I have had that battery for for my Note for over 5 weeks now and granted the cover is a real ***** to get on, I've had extended batteries for all different phones including Galaxy s and Galaxy sII, but this one is by far the hardest cover to get on, but once you get it on, there are no problems. Great battery life as well! I also got it off Amazon from UltimateAddons-UK.
Same Problem here,
i got my 5000mah battery from akkuking with the same cover and the same problem, i had to fix it on another way (nearly unseenable)
But the battery life is great!
Similar story
I have a similar story. I bought a 5000 mah battery+cover from a Chinese company.
The battery was OK but the back did not latch (N7000 is printed inside). I complained by email. They asked me to send pictures, then answered "Dear customer please do'nt worry, we are professionals ...".
One week after I received a new set, this time the back latches well.
Waiting for instructions from them, if they expect me to return the first set, which was shipped from Singapore.
Got The Same Batt!
I got the same CameronSino battery from zaxx wireless ebay. Its true, the cover is of bad quality, but it will fit perfectly after you figure out away on how to install the given cover. For me, like using the original cover, insert the cover from the bottom, going all the way around the edge, youll hear the usual "snap" sound. Untill you reach the end where the hole use for opening the cover located. That is the hardest part, but all you have to do just press harder. it will snap in.
Oh btw, the battery is great! last me 2 days and a few hour on one charge, if not heavyly used. In other case when i use gps and 3g data for under 10 hour, leave me with at least 45% in the afternoon, and that was on gb, i havent tried it on ics. Because my current ics with oem batt last me more than one day with normal use.
how thick?
Hey guys just curious how thick this particular battery was?
I am looking for an extended battery no thicker than 1cm
thanks!
I am from Indonesia
I really wanted this battery.
How much this battery?
Just found these desktop docks at Mobile Fun:
Standard
http://www.mobilefun.com/35463-samsung-galaxy-s3-case-compatible-charging-dock.htm
Dual Charge
http://www.mobilefun.com/35464-samsung-galaxy-s3-case-compatible-dual-charging-dock.htm
Anyone use one of these? They look like they would hold the phone more securely than the Samsung dock, and they're fairly cheap as well.
One thing I'm curious about - With my old Nexus One, I used to be able to set the phone in the dock, and it would automatically switch into home mode. This mode would display the clock and weather, and then switch to a dim alarm clock at night. Anyone know if the S3 behaves the same way, or if any of the after market docks support this feature?
Update: I bought the standard version of this, in black. Here's some thoughts...
It takes a few weeks to receive one of these, since they are shipped from overseas, even if you order it from the .us version of their site.
The Galaxy S3 does not recognize this as a dock, so the phone doesn't automatically switch to desktop dock mode. This XDA thread has info on DIY hacking to address this. It's also been suggested NFC might be a good workaround for this.
The dock is fairly solid, and holds the phone securely. It's very light, but the footprint makes it pretty stable and unlikely to tip over if bumped.
It has a small pop out piece that allows docking the phone even when using a slim fitting case. I have the Rock Quicksand case, and it's a little bit loose, so something slightly thicker than that should still fit.
This is a good looking dock with a glossy black face and flat black sides, but unlike the pictures on the website, there's a white KiDiGi logo on the front of it. This logo is screenprinted on, and I'm not sure if there is any way to remove this without damaging the finish.
It has a standard micro usb connecter on the back of the dock, so any of your typical charging or syncing options should work. It also ships with a standard usb to micro usb cable, instead of the UK mains to micro usb cable as originally stated on their website. Perhaps they've changed this for the US market.
Overall, this is a pretty nice dock for the price.
It looks like it can be docked while the S3 is in a case. I wonder how thick the case can be?
I was usedto the one from captivate so I ordered 2 of these

I really like how there's no logo on the front. I don't mind saving a few bucks by getting a non-Samsung brand, but I don't like seeing the name of some obscure brand plastered across the front of the dock (like this one)
As for the part about the home mode... I suspect you could maybe accomplish this with an NFC tag. There appears to be enough flat real estate on the dock to fit a square on there. I don't know how well it would line up with the receiving part of the phone, which I imagine is more towards the center? Definitely some testing would need to be done before sticking it on.
EDIT: I just noticed in the item description it says it comes with a "UK AC Power Adaptor." Spelling mistake aside, I'm a bit bummed by that.
Excellent point on the NFC tag. That dock in particular does seem to have the perfect spot for it.
I bet that UK power adapter goes to micro USB, which then plugs into the back of the dock. That's how my last dock was. If that's the case, then you should be able to use any other micro USB power you have handy. but yeah, that is sort of a bummer.
There is another dock like this for sale on ebay too. The ebay one has an LED on the front of it though:

ME TOO!
I figured for $12 it was worth a try...and from a review I saw of one that looked identical but had a branding on it I felt it was a good option.
Plus from what I have read/watched it appears it may be a little nicer to play with a TPU case where I am not sure the Kidigi will work with most TPU Cases...though slim cases like the Rok case and others that more cover the back and sides but don't have the face lip appear they will work fine with the Kidigi with the insert out.

I like having it sideways like this for a night stand clock. Does it go into clock mode when you dock it?
I like the sideways too, too bad the default OS doesn't go sideways on desktop view...
Just an update, I bought a spare charger from RND Power Solutions.....looks exactly the same as the Kidigi/Mugen charger posted on the first page. Unfortunately it will not charge batteries to 100 percent.....they only get to about 85% or so. This seems to be the issue with most of the aftermarket spare chargers out there right now. According to RND, this is because of the different voltage the S3 uses for overcharge protection and the manufacturer is working on a solution.
I'd stay away from these chargers till they get it fixed.
Man, I just want some good ones on Amazon with prime ;/
just FYI, mobilefun US and UK seems to be the same company, but all their US orders are believed to be sent from their UK location, this is not something that is stated on their US site. i ordered a case from their US site on july 8th and just received it today on the 18th, and the shipping address on the package is from their UK location.
Just got mine today. I've updated the original post with my thoughts.
I want to know if this would work with the Incipio Silicrylic two-piece case. Based on the OP's comments it sounds like it would but I'd rather not throw away $30 if it didn't.
I've had one of these stands, works with any type of phone. very very very very sturdy. I've had this for quite some time. Worked with my evo and my touchpro2:

sorry, but that seems to be the only choice unless you can find an ebay seller who sells in the UK.
You might want to contact that seller to get them to ship the receiver pad to you.
I would've suggested against getting the transmitter from them to begin with though. apparently the 2nd gen ones are picky and unreliable.

Something you don't want to hear, is these receiver are becoming unreliable just like the transmitter, with cases reported to either DOA or stop working after a while with some of the new batches, there are some good new, it's only a small %.
Apparently it's all related to rushed production with bad QC due to great demand.
Mostly with the name 'Charmlink' printed on the front label, so it's best to ask if there is warranty for them.
Another option for Canada and USA buyers, this guarantees no bulky look because it replaces a new cover for you.:good:

that's pretty slick. Should have been stock from Samsung so cases were built off those specs. I would imagine any case that fits well won't work with that cover. Still pretty sweet setup.
that back piece will not fit with any case whatsoever. It's a different size and you'll either have to mod the case or the battery cover.
The receiver pad by itself would add a slight bump that can be circumvented with a more "restricting" case like the otterbox or the ballistic sg

got my Qi pad from Fasttech today. Ordered the 28th, shipped the 30th. Arrived today. Currently $14.80 shipped Also got the wireless charger from Nokia. $38 with company discount (otherwise about $50) from ATT or Verizon. Works like a champ.
Fun Facts
Fits under OEM cover. Small Hump, barely noticeable. (< 1/16 inch hump)
Diztronic TPU Matte Black Case fits great
Charges about 10% in 30 Minutes. Similar to plug.
NFC works fine. Zero issues.
for Reference, I am running DarthStalker X, Stock Kernel.
yup. the Qi receiver pad seems the be the best choice in terms of getting to put your own case of choice as well as not losing NFC at the same time.
I believe the charging speed is a little faster than usb but slower than AC (according to the receiver pad).
the more flexible cases seem to be the ones that can cope with the bump.
Could anyone recommend a trusted website or seller to by the charging pad from?

I only know of ebay or directly contacting the manufacturer... both aren't 100% trustworthy.. but it seem to have worked with other members here.

Thanks for the replies since those are my only options, do either of you or any one else recommend a brand of the charging pads? I know there's the palm touch stone, duracel, powermat and so on. But what would you guys recommend?

I've spent the past day or so mulling over spending a pocketful of cash for a brand new phone these days, after so many years of grabbing up used hardware passed down by other people, I'm at a point where the current generation of phones (like the GS4A) are most certainly "powerful enough" to do some of the things that I'd like to do. My idea is this, as crazy as it might sound, is to build myself a nice desktop machine (which is on the planning board right now as well) but also get a brand new high end smartphone which I intend to use in manner like so:
- attach the high end smartphone to a dock (if one is available) that allows me to plug in a keyboard, mouse, and of course a high definition monitor (in this case with the GS4A, a 1920x1080 model to match the resolution, I don't need more than that
- when I'm at home I can simply put the phone on the dock and then it will become my "terminal" powering the desktop monitor, controlled by the keyboard and mouse, and running a terminal services/remote desktop application which then allows me to "remote in" to the desktop computer (which will be in another part of the room on the same network)
Yes, it does sound a bit crazy but it's what I have in mind. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has or owns the Samsung Galaxy Smart Dock Multimedia Hub as seen here:

I know that it's a bit expensive for what it is, but the capabilities it offers are perfect for my particular plans I have in mind. I've found it for a bit less on eBay and Amazon so, it's under strong consideration since I'd prefer to use such a dock instead of using an MHL adapter then that into a hub, etc - which would probably be an issue getting USB signals out at the same time as the HDMI for the monitor, and so on. A single dock doing all that (and offering 3 USB ports and audio output too) is far more realistic.
So, if anyone has such a dock could you comment on your experience(s) with it with the GS4A? I'm going over to the GS4 forum to look around for info - I'm just making an assumption that the dock works with the GS4A since it is a Galaxy device and that dock is supposed to be for all of them, more or less. The recessed USB port on the GS4A (because of the "rugged" casing design) might make it more difficult to attach, perhaps Samsung has one of those adapters to raise the microUSB plug on the adapter and make it flush. It's all part of my research now.
I wish I could get that "Flame Orange" version of the GS4A but I can't seem to locate a seller for it, I believe that's the International version of the GS4A and on eBay it's commanding prices in the $900 range and I simply cannot afford that much. I may even end up buying a GS4A used, who knows.
Already picked out my case, however, it's that Supcase Unicorn Beetle one in Yellow/Black, that thing is simply gorgeous.
Thanks for any input or information, it's appreciated.
Edit: I just checked and yes it appears to be compatible with the GS4A as noted on the "Supported Devices" support page, awesome.
I looked at that dock, and others as well, but have been waiting for someone else to check if it actually works with the Active or not... Maybe you
What I wonder is what happens to the rubber USB plug when the phone is in the dock. Does it just get crushed underneath, or is their a space for it? Maybe the plug will need to be removed completely, which is something I'm close to doing anyway since I didn't get this phone to use underwater anyway.
If you do decide to purchase, please post back and let us know...
If you look on the page you linked to, under compatible with, click "see all", and you'll note that the Active is listed on the second page - at least the AT&T model. In other words, it seems it would work!
I'd consider it myself if I had room for a third monitor on my desk.
Found this giant pic online. It looks like the piece in the middle can be taken out to help accommodate the rubber flap. I don't have one myself but it looks pretty solid.

Gotta love it when the ad says "SHIPS WORLDWIDE" but in this somewhat rare instance it can't/doesn't/won't ship to the US, go figure. Bleh.
Got a friend over in the UK, will ask her if she can order it for me, have it shipped to her then she'll send it my way.
I ended up getting an S4 Active in somewhat "horribad" cosmetic condition: was dropped by the previous owner < 2 weeks after purchase, the Dive Blue model from AT&T, and developed a typical "spider web" crack in the glass but the digitizer is still 100% functional and the LCD suffered no ill effects, missing the original battery cover/back plate and the original battery, but I got it for $100 so whatever, I'm a somewhat happy camper at this moment.
Working on getting an unlock code so I can use it with T-Mobile, was reading up on that AWS "unlock" as well to help with the data connection, will see how it all works out over the next few days/weeks I suppose.
It's damned fast, and even in spite of the crack and no back cover (I got a battery off craigslist for $30, not brand new but it works so that's a plus).
Still would like to get one of these docks so yes, I'd like to hear your experience when yours arrives, thanks.
Arrived the other day and i must say im impressed, it worked well with my phone and my wifes (S3), It came with an euro charger and an american charger but i just used my phone charger and it works, it shows in portrait but when the phone flips into landscape mode its fits the whole screen.
I had a chance to get one from Samsung at half price using that 50% coupon code they gave me for registering the phone to my account, but of course I forgot about it completely when I ordered a single battery the other day - DOH!!! Should have just put both of them in the cart and got both products for less than the regular price of just one of the docks.
But I'll live I guess. I had originally intended to use the dock as I said in the first post above: like it was a "computer" of sorts attached to a keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc; I realized that wasn't going to be a feasible situation for me so I've decided to go the opposite direction and do everything I can to be truly wireless meaning using a wireless charger and all data transfers to and from the phone using Wi-Fi, and maybe even using the Wi-Fi Direct or DLNA capability to send some "video" out from it as well, there are lots of possibilities.
Just bought a Jawbone JAMBOX for $50 on craigslist and for it's size it's quite amazing too, now paired with my GS4A and crankin' out some Rush.
We'll see what happens...
I know this smart dock works with the Note 3
Since we are talking about the Samsung multimedia smart dock, I tested this out and it works with the note 3 as well, if anyone is interested:
