I hope everyone has been keeping up with the Point UI Home 2 development. These guys are coming up with some pretty creative stuff. The newest addition has been Point Sense Suite, a replication of the Point Sense UI found on the HTC Hero.
Have a look!

Thanks for posting this it looks great.
Compelling indeed.
Unfortunately the download is restricted.
I would like to test this app.
I didn't see any register information, any idea how we can access it? Legally of course!
Just download app and register with PointUI community to access all downloads. It's free to register, it's an online community... like XDA, sorta.
i saw the video but what realy turned me of was that you have to click the arros to move something???jeees..whats the use of a nice touch screen then..
Looks good but yeah youre right about the arrows thing
my god its realy different from the last point ui , it has much less bugs and i doesn't show conflict with spb3 panel (korean) you can adjust it any shape you like the new applets are perfectly designed its very smoth and doesn't have lag point sence and next gen add on are impressive the only bad things about it's costy and also like the previous point ui it needs to be out of panel modes to apply changes (themes , new software installed on it) oh by the way it takes about 10-12 sec for me to load it from the panels (with all the changes it was less than 6 but point sence add on theme makes it double) but for me it was worth it (sorry for my bad english )
nice wish someone can cook a rom with that interface woot woot!
Yes, I regretted purchasing the software ($20) but after this showed itself I began to feel a little bit more optimistic!
where can i download it? i just registered the pointui community but i cannot find any download link :|
EDIT: sorry i founded it out it's in the thread in this link -> http://community.pointui.com/topic/suiteto-come-pointsense-suite
EDIT AGAIN: now i have another problem i install the panel, the i install the point.sense.suite and the point.sense.home.screen cabs, i go into the panel, menu, customize, change theme and i select "pont sense" then i have a message wich tells me to close the panel and re-open it. after i do that the only thing i have is the default pointui home theme! what can i do? :S
Had the same problem!!
After you changed the theme, you'll have add the Pointui home applet..
you can do this by pressing the small icon next to the time and date in the upper right corner
thanx i got it
anyway has someone any kind of news on the release of the 2.0 version of this theme? thanks

Can any body guide me step by step on how to install PointSense on HTC Diamond? or is it all not possible?
I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

I've included this as an option for VillainROM 2.1, so I thought I'd share it for other developers/users.
It's a SLIGHTLY modified version of Espresso Rosie. I've removed those horrible, windows mobile style bubbles, which look awful.
In addition, I have run each directory through a series of different PNG Optimizers, which has cut the unpacked file-size down to 0.5mb less than it was previously. This should speed up navigation somewhat.
Please note: Any rom using this will crash if switched to 7 homescreens.
Just flash over the top of your current 2.X Sense rom!
This should work on:
VillainROM
[email protected]
Chpoubs (Unsure now they've added a strange theme)
Espresso-Hybrid
Hero21 Community (Untested)
Enjoy!
Please leave feedback if you have any issues. I plan to further tweak this when I have some time.

looks great..
but, does this include the Rosie launcher??
a litlle pack of HTC Widget is possible?
what will happend if you push these files by adb into your normail original HERO rom phone ?
Hi, it's nice to see Espresso has been optmized, but I still have a really annoying problem with it. When you press the "Search People" icon in the launcher (I mean the one in the right), it takes you to a modified version of standard "Search People", and every time I try to select a contact, it asks me for its default action, and then to attach him or her a picture. It doesn't matter what you do, if you select any picture, the contact magically disappears from this list, and you can't select it again from there. Anyways, the default Search People works ok. COuld you try to fix that, please?
Thanks for your huge effort!

Not when you install Espresso
It defaults to 5 but you can option it to 7.... but it would then crash on you
i install on villarom but don't go why?
You have to flash villain, let it boot, turn it off, flash espresso and then boot again. That worked for me.
search contact issue
I love the look of the espresso rosie but the search contacts on the right side of the menu links to a search contacts apk that is not linked to the actual contacts. THerefore rather useless.
note. Im using Villian rom 2.1 (runs 1.5 dialer which may be the problem)

I think the issue with the contact buttom on the front, is linked to the correct contacts, but it is very slow, if you have many contacts. I don't think it is due to 1.5 dialer, as i had the same problem on Hero Expresso/Hybrid 1.2. When you enter the search, and leaves it there for 10-20 sec, all contacts pop up, it is just VERY slow.
Hopefully this can be fixed?
I didn't say I'd fixed it - nor did I say it was 100%
I've simply optimized the PNG files, shrinking down the size. In addition, I've removed the bubbles, then re-signed it. Not a big job, granted; but I thought I'd share it.
I did not mean that you should have fixed it. I thought it was an error in the other ROM i used, but the problem is here as well.
We hope you maybee will look at it, when you get the time. All in all it runs well, and this together with Villain 2.1 runs much more smooth than my previous ROM, so i am very happy

Well, I have worked on Honeycomb port for some weeks, and I was not going to publish it.
But I thought someone would like to see how Honeycomb can perform on our device, and maybe someone could help in development.
Big thanks goes to people working on Desire and Nexus HC ports, i used some tricks in this build too.
Everyone who can help in development are welcomed.
Please note - honeycomb for our device(s) is far from stable and usable now, it can be used for exploring what Honeycomb actually looks like and how can it be used on our device.
What's working now
It boots ^^

Xoom based?
Hi there I'm assuming since you've been developing it for weeks it is probably SDK based but now that the motorola Xoom System dump is out could you not use it as a base. It being a real device and everything maybe it can help get things working! Like when gingerbread roms were made from the sdk nothing worked but when the NExus s dump came working builds came too...
So could it work?

I'll keep my mince pies on this thread to see how it develops, im happy enough with Sergio Coredroid HD for now but honeycomb if some devs can get it to fully work certainly interests me.
Indeed is incredible smooth and snapier, what a nice view i saw in this beautifull release of Imilka.
Now will pray for a full working version.
thanks Imilka.
Thanks Been looking for this , I noticed you've posted what doesnt work but if i notice any weird bugs FCs,Ill post up here Thanks Again
had a quick try and i love it already. ironically ipad2 announced yesterday and i was thinking to myself. its just an upgrade, ive never had that 'experience' apple bosses talk about. ive never had my 'ipad' adapt to me, i jailbreak it to make it better. its a os. simple and clean but very limited (ios btw), same system more speed. honeycomb in my opinion is an evolution. its different and better. its what you expect from an upgrade
As of November 26th, 2011, the latest Swype beta Swype v3.26.92.36178 (http://www.multiupload.com/IALPY1J32T) does not yet work.
It erroneously reports the screen size as 720x1,184:

Using the latest installer also produces an error:
I had the same problem. I find that I'm really, really missing it. Once you get used to swyping, it's hard to go back.
I wonder if 720x1184 is the size of the screen apart from the space reserved for the soft buttons. I hope to see Swype soon, touch pal isn't really the same and it is mis-sized as well on gn

I too started using Swype since Galaxy S I, it became a habit and I just can't type well without it. While waiting for Swype's support, I searched the market and found a software called SlideIt, very similar to Swype in fact it worked just fine ever since I've got my Nexus, no screen size problems at all. Give it a try guys, I'm still using the demo while waiting for Swype, or I might just buy the full version.

Same here, I also got the error message already before installing it.
I hope they will make a compatible version soon, but I find that since the screen is so big, thumb-typing like on a BlackBerry device works surprisngly well with the Nexus.
This link is already on the other Galaxy Nexus/Swype thread on XDA, but posting here for completeness: http://forum.swype.com/showthread.php?4798-Ice-Cream-Sandwich-and-or-720p-ETA
In short, the issue is that the Swype installer checks the resolution, and because of the soft keys, the reported resolution actually has 96 px chopped off the end to accommodate the soft keys.
John
still?
Has there been any development here or is Swype on Galaxy Nexus still a no-go?
What a bummer! I was just about to click the "order" button for a new Galaxy Nexus and then noticed this issue. Without Swype, I'll just stick with my 2-year-old Nexus One for now, thank you.
if you were to read the link on the swype forum, you'd find out what the status is

Its the best android keyboard ever. Great spacing and accuracy but doesnt supports greek etc
I feel the same way... not having compatibility with some apps is actually pretty tolerable.. swype is dope but so is the stock keyboard... the haptic feedback feels great.

if you extract the apk in display7_SwypeScreen.ini says:
Code:
NumberKeyboardNameLS = Numbers-LS
EditKeyboardNameLS = Edit-LS
MainKeyboardNameLS = Qwerty-LS
ScreenHeightLS = 288
ScreenWidthLS = 1280
ScreenDimensionLS = _HD720
NumberKeyboardNamePT = Numbers-PT
EditKeyboardNamePT = Edit-PT
MainKeyboardNamePT = Qwerty-PT
ScreenHeightPT = 426
ScreenWidthPT = 720
ScreenDimensionPT = _HD720
what numbers should the screenheightls,screenwidthls,screenheightpt,screenwidthtpt be to be compatible with galaxy nexus?
ICS+Swype
Was reading the ICS/GNex thread on Swype, and just to confirm. Swype has no issues with ICS per say, it is the screen size that is screwy for some reason. Additionally, i have found that improperly acquiring the app can cause issues (for example getting it from somebody else etc). I am enrolled in the beta programme, have been since pre-nexus days, so i just requested a downloaded the installer via the email.
Not sure why it's not compatible since the first few post on that thread says "swype officially supports 720p resolutions". It even works with the new ICS Style "add words" thing, as opposed to the old way to add words to the swype dictionary with the pop up, it seems to use the ICS Custom dictionary.
In all honesty I'm using Slideit for now and its a great replacement. It even has an ICS theme and is $0.10 today
Me too -- I was heartbroken at losing Swype, but have adjusted to SlideIt and am now happy with it. There are some SlideIt touches I'm even finding preferable.

Swype is now (somewhat) working for GNex!
I was reading droid-life comments and one guy mentioned this post on G+ about a modded Swype for the tuna.
The application works correctly on in portrait mode. He post mentioned using Keyboard Manager to switch between Swype and Android Keyboard for portrait and landscape.
Unfortunately for a noob, I can't post the link to the post. Just search "swype for galaxy nexus" on Google Plus.
I have Swype back now! Enjoy!
Well this is my my first thread/mod/port in SIII section,I only got the device few hours ago so pardon me for small mistakes =)
After using S3 little I really didn't liked the keyboard(or pizzwizz for that matter lolz) & the swype word recognition that came with it.The best swype keyboard I used personally is the one that came with Xperia S ICS update.And since I know my way around Xperia fw's well I thought what the hell I will port it
Nice keyboard,made the zip for my personal use and thought to share it with the community =)
Sound when pressing keys options seems to be not working atm(no sound),later will fix it =)

Tested on SG Note N7000 with RR v3 JB 4.1.2. XXLS7 works like a charm :laugh:
This doesn't work on Play Store, Google Now, YouTube, Google Maps and Google Search, right, the Swipe gesture?
Nice work, but it needs a bit of tuning... Some smilies don't work, when you try to hit them the kb selects another one. Had to replace the apk from other Xperia KB mod and fully working now with all smilies working.
Other than that it has a small glitch: when you try to enter a password, if you hit the caps button you have to hit again twice to return to normal...
Still, great work with this mod, thanks
