So I've had mine on ATT here in Dallas for about 24 hours.
I used my iPhone 4s Micro SIM and did nothing else to the OneX.
The data seems to be working fine, I've used a Unlocked GS2 in the past and this cycles between 3G and H just like the GS2 did. Maybe a hiccup to get the data flowing but it seems good. For some reason Speed Test over ATT didn't work in my house, so I haven't done a speed test on it yet.
Calls seem good, haven't made too many yet and I have a Micro Cell in the house so I have a good signal.
Tones are a tad low vs iPhone4s, ringing is ok, but messaging tones are a little quite for your pocket.
Battery seems pretty good, on my first charge and took a bunch of pics and vids today the usual new phone messing around and its at 45% since 9am-415pm.
I am getting some distortion when listening to music, used Google Music for a jog and it was breaking up, also tired DoubleTwist and when I click around on the phone while a song is playing I get weird sounds over the headset.
Also I'm using Google Voice for my Voice Mail so I never had to call ATT to switch anything.
The big question is will I keep this version or get the ATT's One X when it comes out??
Keep This ONE
By all means, try to convince yourself to keep this ONE X. The AT&T coming out wil be the XL, gaining AT&T 4g-LTE which will still be throttled by them. You will be losing the Tegra3 Quad Core in exchange for a Dual Core in the XL, you can't have both yet apparently. I want to have something not branded by AT&T. I have had the ONE X for about a day now, and liking it, alot!
That's good to know that you are having the 3G hspa signal changing back to forth. I'm trying to decide between my iPhone 4s and the one x. I'm not loving the size but I figure it's because I've been using the iPhone since version 1. The speedtest app does not seem to work.
The switching between 3G and hspa is normal, it's a trigger to save battery. If your using the one x on your iPhone data plan call ASAP and swap to an android data plan. You will see increased performance on an android data plan vs iPhone data plan.
Same here.. iPhone 4s convert. Using my micro sim from my iPhone.. using google voice for V-mail..ect ect ect..
I was playing around the APN's today and this one is giving me the fastest speed and lowest latency.
Name: AT&T US HSDPA
APN: phone
Proxy: <not set>
Port: <not set>
Username: <not set>
Password: <not set>
Server: <not set>
MMSC: <not set>
MMS Proxy: <not set>
MMS Port: <not set>
MCC: 310
MNC: 410

Screw the LTE version.. faster phone or faster data speed? I'll take faster phone with better international custom ROM support.

Idk if thats true actually. That's what I thought initially, but i've read otherwise.
My i9100 did that switching between 3G and HSPA, which caused a slight lag in response of data.
My Galaxy Nexus almost constantly stays on HSPA and I rarely see it switch back and forth between that and 3G if at all.
I've read about the AT&T 4G data plans and the guy said that switching to it from the old iPhone made it stop switching from 3G to HSPA.
The only thing is I'm on the old grandfathered unlimited plan so it contradicts.
The only thing I can think of is with the new 4.0.4 update.......WCDMA preferred is selected. You can check by typing *#*#4634#*#* and I'm thinking this is why it's always on HSPA which has led to faster data response times since it doesn't need to switch from that 3G to HSPA
It also isn't draining battery so I don't think the 3G to HSPA is a battery saving thing. I managed 3 hours and 20-ish minutes of display time with over 11 hours on battery and still have 40% left which was better than I would get/around the same as my i9100, when the Gnex should be getting worse battery life.
So I think it deals with what network mode is selected in *#*#4636#*#* leave it on WCDMA preferred and see how it is. The 4.0.4 made this the preferred choice on almost all Gnex.
And as for One X vs One XL, I'd take One XL just because Krait is a faster SoC and LTE is pretty amazing if you have it in your area. Integrated LTE Radio should also improve battery life a lot compared to other LTE phones. AT&T version might have a larger battery also like the Sprint version but no one knows.
Matt,
Did you change your data plan to Android 4G then do those new APN setting or are you still on the iPhone4s data plan??
I have to agree with this phone is better than the ATT's version, I just came from the iPhone 4S and before that a Samsung Skyrocket, the LTE sucks the battery and the data speed are not needed on a phone, 4G with better battery life and a faster processor and more storage is what I agree is a better product.

lol......that is what AT&T version is. 4G with better battery life and a faster processor, storage is same probably.
Tegra 3 isn't faster because it uses more cores. It's using older architecture compared to the dual-core Krait and it shows. In most tests, the Krait is faster, it also uses less power etc...because it's on a smaller fabrication process.
But if you want better ROM support, the international HTC One X is probably the way to go.
Your skrocket uses the old LTE which isn't integrated and sucks down a lot more battery.
And you can use that APN with whatever data plan. You don't need to be on an android 4g plan. It doesn't always yield faster results. There's a whole video of it on youtube. Phone APN yielded the slowest (it does for me also) while WAP.cingular and PTA(doesn't work anymore) yield the fastest data speeds. But it depends on your area so you should test it out.
I switched "my device" online at ATT's website to the Samsung G2 which I used for like a month awhile back. That pretty much solves the problem for me. ATT knows pretty quickly that you're not using an iPhone any more.
I did this when I had the SGN for a week or so and I didn't have to call anyone at ATT and explain myself.. which could be quite a chore if you end up with an ATT rep that doesn't have much of a clue.
I think with the build quality of the HTC One X and Sense 4 running on ICS.. the quad core keeping things buttery smooth. It's finally an iPhone 4s replacement for me. THANK GOD.
Ok, thanks
I'd have to agree with both of you guys, if the ATT version ends up with a better battery I might switch since I am in LTE. Not that that matters that much to me, as does the quad core vs dual core. I do like the 32 gig of storage, ATT's is lookign to have only 16.
Ok, I'll see about switching my phone only, but if the speed test app doesn't work, how are you guys testing out your ATT data speeds on these different APN's
Has anyone who switched their iPhone plan to a non iPhone data plan seen a increase and more stable data speeds?
Speed Test app didn't work when i was using the default medianet apn. Works fine with the APN settings I posted. And he's definately right about results will vary by location!
I can tell with real world use.. Stuff is downloading faster for me... web pages are loading faster.. facebook is snappier..ect..

good, cause i really haven't noticed any difference. compared them both and they both have the same speeds.
Hows the GPS when you try and use say Fandango to locate the nearest theater over ATT not WiFi??
Or if you use the Google Nav and say Navigate to Starbucks, it seems that it takes a long time or not at all to find a GPS lock over ATT.
Another question, under Mobile Networks
Are you using GSM ONLY or GSM/WCDMA??

I told you to try WCDMA in my first reply.
Mine is on it, and it stays on constant HSPA. No battery drain, which is why I think the 3G to HSPA switching isn't a battery saving feature at all. I've read threads/posts where the 3G to HSPA switching is actually bad.
Opps, thanks, I'll try it out.
I did call ATT and I'm on 4G data now as well.

Okay, you probably didn't have to change....but you might experience faster speeds possibly.
Check if it switches between 3G and HSPA constantly.

I have gone though all the posts that I can find about the right apn setting for a GN on ATT.
I have tried the following.
1. The default, Cingular 410. This gets me somewhat connected. I connect, but pings are way hight and speed is 1 MB down and if I am luck 500 Kb up.
2. I have tried pta / phone. Seems to connect but I can not get online.
I went to a ATT store and had them make sure I was provisioned for a HSDPA+ plan, with I think is the smartphone plan.
This sim came from a Vivid. So it was provisioned for LTE.
Any suggestions on what steps I need to take to get a reliable connection on my GN. Dam I like this phone, but bringing an unlocked phone to ATT is a pain...
Thanks
Matt
You shouldnt have to setup anything. I popped in my att sim and all apn was automatically entered. Its a 5 year old sim.
What did you change?
My AT&T SGS2 (my Galaxy Nexus is T-Mobile) wasn't connecting to data although it had the correct APNs.
I called them and it turned out they needed to switch over the data plan to a "4G smartphone data plan" on their end (from a BlackBerry data plan that it had before). Your issue may be that you are still on the LTE plan. For the Galaxy Nexus, the correct plan would most likely be the 4G smartphone plan.
The APNs that I have on the SGS2:
Name: ATT PHONE
APN: Phone
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: internet
everything else is <Not set>
then I have a 2nd APN (which I guess is needed for MMS)
Name: ATT WAP
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: mms,supl
everything else is <Not set>
I have the ATT PHONE APN selected and everything works (including sending and receiving MMS) just fine.
Hope this helps
No go.
I went to ATT and had them put me on a LTE plan.
Still no data.
I added variations of the pta apn and it alway reverts back to the cingular apn.

From what I understand you do not want to be on a LTE plan as Gnex is not an LTE activated phone, this can cause spotty or zero coverage for data.
Make sure your on 4g smartphone data plan, maybe try a new sim card and then pop in these settings:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1149523.html
You should be good to then!
PS:
You only need the phone and mms apns!
That's right, the GSM Galaxy Nexus doesn't have LTE. I'm certain changing the data plan to the 4G smartphone plan (non-LTE) will fix OP's issue.
ATT won't put me on a 4g plan. They say the nexus is not reconized on the system and it defaults to a 3g plan.
They can not override it.
There only solution is for me to get another 4g phone that is att branded. Get 4g plan put on my account and then move that sim..
Dam, this sucks.

Dam, this is just about the worst Nexus I have owned. I have tried all the US radios and the xx radios, but my connection just plain sucks.
I have done the IMEI changing thing and they gave me a plan that says:
"SMT Personal" on the bill" and when I go into manage my features it says: "Smartphone bundle: Data Plan for SmartPhones. Unlimited domestic data usage. Only available for upgrades. Requires customers to be on a "Gold List" SmartPhone Plan prior to upgrade to 4G device."
Is this the correct 4G (HSPA+) plan for those changing from an iPhone unlimited plan?

Do you have an unlimited data plan? If so, AT&T seems to be throttling people that still have the unlimited data plans.
Took my Yakjuzs to ATT (purchased in HK), they scanned the IMEI of the phone (behind battery) then put that in the system and gave me a new SIM, my old one was iPhone from about 2 years ago.
On Sunday AM when everyone is asleep I get upwards of 6 meg down and 1 up, just now got 2 down and .5 up.
So, it varies. I live in Orlando Fl area.
I got no special SIM, nothing out of the ordinary and it's fast enough for me. Is it LTE fast? No, but I chose the Nexus and with that the speed penalty.
It's the same speed as my old "4G" Motorola Atrix.

I have tried 4.0.4 and all the radios that are published.
Might be selling this dog.
While my Vivid is able to get online np and keep a connection. While the Nexus required multiple battery pulls, though out the day to get online.

So, I have an Vivid. I had ATT set me up for LTE. This works fine with my Vivid. Moving that sim to my GN and using the pta apn
While I do connect, I can't even run speed test.
I am somewhat lost on what plan on ATT I need and what apn I need on the GN for it work on HSDPA+ or 4G.
Any help and or suggestions??
Even using the default apn, cingular 401, my speeds and horrible. The phone is un usable.
Hello,
I have been having terribly slow data speeds on ATT in Alabama. I thought after my bill cycle renewed that it would get better. But my bill cycle renewed on January 16th and I'm still getting slow data. Slower than I have ever gotten like 1 megabit per sec to 3 megabits per sec. I usually get 4 to maybe 7 megabits per sec. Is anyone else having issues in Alabama?

I'm not from Alabama so I'm not really sure how strong the signal is around your area and if it's normal or not. I suggest you try the Network Signal Speed Booster from the Play Store (sorry I'm not able to post links yet since I'm below 10 posts) and see if it improves anything. What the app does is reset your phone's radio connection and find the nearest cell site so you can receive better signals. I hope this helps

It depends on the month lmao. I thought that's what it was. but.... my bill cycle restarted on the jan 16 and it was still slow. I went to AT&T store yesterday. first off the guy wanted to know where i got my galaxy nexus. but he said they were having issues with their service and to download mark the spot app. but i did and it kept making me send crash reports. anyway the guy gave me a new sim card. I just put my sim card in my old HTC Inspire 4G and I got like 8 megs down. when I'm getting 1 meg down on the galaxy nexus. so I'm like WTF?
Did you get your gnex new? What radio baseband is it on? I can verify that htc phones have stronger antenna reception, but not to that extent..

yes i bought it brand new on july 2, 2012
baseband version is I9250XXLH1
Got mine just about the same time! I wonder if you were to call them and see if they are still having issues [which seems obviously not if the inspire works]. Then again, is the inspire hspa+ or lte? Is the new sim set up for hspa+ or lte? Only other thing i could think of is trying to flash a different radio, just to try them out.
Also, have you looked into the crash reports from mark the spot? Have you tried to find out why it crashes?
Not sure what the issue. Att said they were having issues and yes I'm set up on hspa+ its gotten better since I used the APN the HTC inspire had. But it still goes up and down.

Net10's website simply says any unlocked GSM phone operating on 850 and 1900 MHz bands, which this phone does, and T-Mobile upgraded their towers last year from 1700 to 1900 in Tampa, so it should work just fine.
Is there any way for me to check what bands a phone is currently using? If so I can check on my brothers phone which is a T-Mobile phone running on Net10. If I could check what band's it's actually using for the 4g it's receiving then I can confirm for a fact that the problem is on my end.
Either way though, thanks for your help guys, I appreciate it.
EDIT: After about two hours searching I cannot find a way to find out exactly what band he is using, however I realized since his is a T-Mobile phone it would probably show 1700 either way. I need someone with a iPhone or other GSM in Tampa to confirm I guess... Kinda a problem tho.

well im on simplemobile which is tmobiles frequency also.. I am using stock modem, 1747UCDLK3, I get 4g speeds of 4000 - 17000 kbps depending on time of day.. better at night time...
I made a few stock roms, all working great... im on the tmobile build now.. just made it a few days ago... check my signature..
Build-11_15_2012_UCDLK3_S3_I747_JB411 regular AT&T, works great... speeds 4000 - 17000 kbps shows up 3g and 4g.
Build-12_12_2012_MUMBLL1_S3_I747_&_747M_JB411, Canadian claro rom, also made one for AT&T works great also.. speeds 4000 - 17000 kbps, shows up 3g and 4g
Build_01_17_2013_UVDLJC_S3_I747&T999_JB411, tmobile rom, cant really test cause I used up my 250mb of 4g, but I am getting and E instead of 3g.. speed on 3g is 195kbps. hmm slow.. I usually get 240 or 244 kbps..
I changed the build prop to represent ATT d2att... everything works great...

Huh, Well I installed the last one on that list and it works!!! I get 4g and first speedest hit 8.5 down 1.5 up. Not too shabby compared to 0.15 on edge lolol
So I guess now my question is how did you do it? What if anything did you change and why does 4g not work at all on CM10.1? Curious.
For me I had to do a factory data reset, once I did it worked perfectly on the stock rooted ROM.

well I got it to work, the 4g that is... but I had the same problem with my wifes phone with the E.. edge which is 2g.. slow data...
I haven't done anything to my wifes phone for over a week, I think its tmobile antenna, which I use simplemobile..
I noticed my s3 would work downtown tampa, but not where I live in town and country... all around my area I was getting E... for a brief second or so I would see 4g and it would change immediately to E.
so I changed the following step last night to make both phones work and got 4g..
in settings... more settings... wireless and networks... mobile networks.. NETWORK MODE= Changed to WCDMA ONLY... seemed to do the trick.. I never had to do that before..

Well I was too hasty before, my phone only gets 4g in a couple spots out and about Tampa. Most of the time it's only Edge, which leads me to believe it is in fact just T-Mobile sucking.
I tried that WCDMA setting and that disconnects me from mobile networks completely. Like if I was in airplane mode.

I have the same problem. I have an unlocked att on tmo and never see 4g, only E. so my question is what exactly did you flash to get that working? Was it the Tmo rom or the ATT one? I am pretty good at all this but just wanted to make sure i download the right file. Thanks.
This isn't exactly NEW information, but it's something that I had just noticed. I knew that StraightTalk had introduced LTE into their prepaid plan, but apparently Net10 has as well. Granted, it's not unlimited data, but for the average user, 2.5GB should be more than plenty.
I've been on Net10 since July of this year. It's been pretty solid so far and my only complaint was the lack of 4G/LTE service. After flashing the new MK2 modems today I noticed for the first time that my Network Icon was showing 4G LTE; not just the standard 4G when connected to 3G or H+. Also Settings->About Phone->Status shows me as being connected to LTE... so just throwing that out there.
I'll throw out my APN settings that have working MMS and everything; although I do believe they're the standard APN settings on Net10's page.

This looks promising. In your opinion then, there's no downside at all to doing this? I don't use Wifi calling so I would not miss that. What kind of data speeds do you actually get? If it's even close to what I get now (mid 20's, usually), I'm sold. The only concern I have is this sentence in their "transferring a number" section: In order to transfer or port in your phone number to NET10 you must have a NET10 wireless phone. I plan on calling them to clarify, but does this mean I can't bring my current number over with my phone, that I would need to buy one from them? That would be a deal breaker. Thank you.

I didn't see a down side. I was fine just getting 3G as I'm not usually in an LTE area anyway. Why pay $90 a month when you can get pretty much the same exact coverage for half the price? I came from AT&T and have the same coverage as i did previously.
As far as speeds go, I was just shy of 20 down when I tested the other day. I would upload a picture of it now, but I'm not getting too great of speeds where I am right now. Currently I'm only getting about 7 down and 12 up.. But I'm also in the middle of nowhere atm. I'm getting the same down speed on LTE here with 2-3 bars as i do on full bars of 3G. Upload is considerably slower on 3G though.
As far as porting your number, yes you can port it. It's a simple process and I do believe their website explains how to do it. I think I called though and had them do it over the phone. I do remember that your number still had to be active on your current network.. As in don't cancel your service until you set up net10. In fact, once you start the porting process, they take care of canceling your current service anyway.
And you don't need to buy a device from them, check the BYOP (bring your own phone) program.

FYI Net10 IS StraightTalk. In fact the APN settings are the same when using the new AT&T ST sim as the ones you posted :good:

Net10 is StraightTalk's non-WalMart-subsidized side. I know they use the same APN's, but while StraightTalk had 4G, Net10 was stuck on 3G.

Straight talk have LTE for their AT&T sims not on tmobile sims.
Currently I have a tf700 (64gb) that I rooted and run cyanogenmod 11 nightlies on. (I previously ran 10 nightlies) It was completely unusable until I updated from stock. The tablet is good but I really wanted a tablet with a stylus that I could use in school and work for note taking, jotting down things, making lists, etc. Basically I want the functionality I have now and the ability to get rid of carrying a notepad around. I bought my wife a note 8 and got a chance to play around with it and think it will work for me. I'm interested in purchasing a galaxy note 10.1" 2014 edition and had a couple questions:
1. There are LTE tablets on ebay. According to comments these tablets cannot do LTE on AT&T's network but they can do GSM. Is that correct? Also, they have a different processor for the wines with LTE. Do these tablets still perform well with the different CPU? Is it that big of a difference?
2. Is there a 64GB version of the 2014 edition.
3. Are the mods / kernels worth using or should you stay stock?
Also, is there a 64gb version?

Yes. Both the P601 and P605 are quad band GSM and will deliver HSPA+ data speeds on AT&T's network (5-10MB down) and perhaps as high as 20MB down on T-Mobile because they're dual-channel HSPA which both N10.1-14's support. Any quad band GSM device will only work on T-Mobile in markets they've re-farmed to 1900MHz. Even then, being so high on the frequency band, indoor coverage can be poor and even outdoor reception can be spotty. If you're planning on using T-Mobile I'd ask people in a T-Mobile forum what kind of coverage they are getting where you'll be using your device. To use the dialer and MMS you'll need to put your device on a "smartphone" plan. "Tablet" plans don't support voice or messaging. Since you're "bringing your own," if you're on a Family Share plan with AT&T, it's only $15 a month now.
Here are my results on AT&T with a P-601. I've gotten both higher and lower depending on the market I've used it in.

No. Exynos is stronger in some benchmarks while S-800's stronger in others. Even then, where there's a difference, it's minimal and at such high performance levels for both chips you won't see the difference. Read the N3 forum to see people with both devices thoughts. The same comments would apply to the N10.1-14 because it's equipped with the same CPU/GPU options. The biggest difference is charging time. A full charge on the P-601 takes 7 hours and 5 on the S-800 version because of Qualcomm's QuickCharge feature.

Scott Rossler has done a CleanROM for the Wi-Fi N10.1-14 which you should be familiar with from the Asus forums. I don't know if he's adapted it (or will) for the P-601/5. There's far less development for the 3/4G versions because there are far fewer sold.
Thanks for the help! One final question, is there any reason to get the P605 instead of the P601. My understanding is that the P605 is LTE which I can't use on AT&T. But there is a small premium in terms of cost.

I live in Oz but the question is, Will the International LTE version support the LTE bands on AT&T? If not then you might think about getting the 3G version.
I don't know what it's like in America but in Oz there are lots of places that don't support LTE/4G.

Hi...i have p600 wifi exynos note 10.1 2014 edition and the charging time from 4% to 100% is about 4:10 hours.
I think the charging time of p601 is similar because some processor.
