Can someone tell me by default what is the processor settings under performance on a fresh cm9 install. I was playing with these and did not take note of the default settings.

Nice to see you back Mystery!
unless tegrak is updatedfor GB or you can do the hardware hooks yourself..
actually, it says it was updated for GB for galaxy s phones, so it might work for GB on epic i dont know..
GB doesn't need Oct yet
You have to go step-by-step
First is bringing it's performance back to that of eclair or froyo
Right now I'm on min and Max both 1000mhz and I still lag like f***Ing crazy

What are the best apps for underclocking and the best settings just for battery saving sake. I don't care bout performance. Thanks in advanced

no one can really answer that as for every phone acts different people use it differently ur best bet is to underclock a little at a time and try it out

I believe system tuner has a tab labeled voltages, you can go in and lower them. Just a word of caution tho, take it easy when you undervolt, doing so to much can cause serious issues. Dont set the settings to stick on boot until your sure your phone can handle it.
Here is my "Setcpu" setting what is yours. Looking for tips and help still new with ovecloacking.

I know it creates problems with CM9. Not sure if it also applies to other ICS builds or leaks.
Stay away from set cpu on ICS it freezes phones well at least mine
This is 4hours later little use while at work

Ya I was using setcpu on stock-rooted EL29. I also found out ICS has a feature that works like setcpu, so ya don't use it on ICS cause it will bugout and crash.
Helpful tip --
If you are looking for another app that save up little more battery life you could check out "JuiceDefender"

What is the best govenor to set if you're trying to save the most battery life?
I'm confused between the conservative and ondemand. What are their differences?

Use conservative. It scales up the CPU slower, so you'll end up saving more battery in the long run. I've only noticed very minimal lag between the two.
Anyone else have good advice for it?

I'm using Ktoonz kernel and in ktweaker I keep getting a message saying min and max don't match saved settings. How do I get rid of that? Also, what should I be setting my min and max to?

Flash the 9-10 kernel, should fix your issue. As for min max, that's entirely up to you bud.

The only way to get more steps is to have the defy+ kernel which allows you to have 4, but no way to get more.
Give me the link with this kernel, please.I don't find this.
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
The benefit is not that good, good governor is the real ****. You can have steps for each mhz like 101, 102, 103 but if the governor scales it too slow...
I don't understand..excuse..
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
"4" is the most you could get. From Gingerbread kernel roms like MS2Ginger, as well as 2ndboot kernel roms like Quarx's CM10.
What Mavasilisk want to tell you is, 3 or 4 or many cpu steps doesn't metter, it's about choosing good CPU governors to control those steping.
