Does anyone know any roms or kernels that are gingerbread but can also overclock to 1.2 or 1.3 ghz?
Thanks in advance

no source = no overclock...you will have to wait until june 20th (hopefully)
No source no over clock

Nice to see you back Mystery!
unless tegrak is updatedfor GB or you can do the hardware hooks yourself..
actually, it says it was updated for GB for galaxy s phones, so it might work for GB on epic i dont know..
GB doesn't need Oct yet
You have to go step-by-step
First is bringing it's performance back to that of eclair or froyo
Right now I'm on min and Max both 1000mhz and I still lag like f***Ing crazy

I flashed the EE03 kernel, no problems a all! But the on thing I miss is being able to overclock to 1.3 ghz. Anyone know how to go about doing that? Thanks in advance.

You need to download setCPU or some other app.

But u still can't overclock to what he wants. that's something the devs have to build into the kernel.

We will haveto wait for the official 2.3 from samsprint and then that the source gets relesed. After that, its kitchen time with the devs and we should have lots of goodies!!!
So it will take time and effort.

Has there been a release on a Overclocked Kernel for EG22, 2.3.4 rom ?
I'm loving the feel from 2.3.4, but i'd love the speed i had using genocide on EC05.
Thank you all ahead!

No, can't be a kernel without source code. Source code usually is not released until official is released. Some have had success with Tegrak an overclock app in the market.
dag, your right didn't even think about that.
Thank you!
I'll give the app try!

You can use Tegrak (in the market). It will OC the EG22 kernel from here:
http://chris41g.devphone.org/EG22PlusKernel.zip ACS Ext4 Kernel, I've run it and it does make EG22 run much faster. BUT - I noticed significant battery drain.
Hope that helps
The app also works with cm7

A little battery drain is a given with over clocking, lol

Yes Tegrak is awesome.

Yes it gives you a good feel for what Gingerbread will be like with custom kernels. i am running 1360 max on CM7

does anyone know what kernals are compatiable with metamorphisis 2.0 tryed genocide 2.0 no go i would like to be able to o.c. to at least 1.2 but 1. 4 would be nice.. thanks btw i did try searching as well before you guys jump down my throat!!
Not sure about kernels if Genocide doesn't work. You could always grab Tegrak if you are just looking to OC.

Ill give it a whirl thanks movie time wife is getting mad lol...

I can't find that kernal anywhere
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
So I installed tegrak and o.c to 1.1 my quadrant score was like 2600 litle amazed I might say
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I answered this in your other thread, but tegrak is an app in the market. Urban metamorphasis is an EH17 rom, genocide kernel is for EC05 roms. The kernel included with the rom should be able to overclock with the aid of tegrak.
Edit: glad to see you got it working while I typed that lol

Do you know what the safest frequency to overclock with terak on metamorpisis is right now I am at 1.1. Would like to hit 1.2 but don't want to fry my cpu

It depends on your processor. They are all different. Do not click set on boot. Set it to 1.2 and run Quadrant while it is doing the stability test. If it freezes you will have to pull the battery so make sure journaling is enabled in your ROM or find and flash the journal on zip. Mine made it to 30 seconds left until it froze. So just went back to 1.1.

Is there a way to fix the CPU being stuck at 200 MHz? I'm running the AOKP ROM.
Flash nyan colonel and make sure you have no CPU apps installed

Dont... 1.0 GHz is fast enough... But your rom probably has performance settings somewhere...

So if I go to the performance settings and overclock to 1.4 GHz, will that keep the minimum CPU level at 100 MHz?

Possibly but why use 1.4 when it just kills your battery?

depends what your trying to do plus changing your I/0 Scheduler and Governor settings will help, and for performance it depends really.
If your playing normal games and every day tasks all you need is 1.0GHz.
1.1GHz+ is just needed only upon heavy gaming or heavy multitasking.
i'm running cm9 beta 3 pre 3 and it's oc'd to 1.2 and i still get the 100mhz step just fine. Loving it!
Who knows what i have to do for more step/stairs on my cpu?(e.g 100,200,300,400 Mhz).I am running CM9.Pleaseee help!!!

The only way to get more steps is to have the defy+ kernel which allows you to have 4, but no way to get more.
Give me the link with this kernel, please.I don't find this.
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
The benefit is not that good, good governor is the real ****. You can have steps for each mhz like 101, 102, 103 but if the governor scales it too slow...
I don't understand..excuse..
Sent from my MB525 using xda premium
"4" is the most you could get. From Gingerbread kernel roms like MS2Ginger, as well as 2ndboot kernel roms like Quarx's CM10.
What Mavasilisk want to tell you is, 3 or 4 or many cpu steps doesn't metter, it's about choosing good CPU governors to control those steping.
