Hi there, I have trouble while flashing my htc thunderbolt using CDMA workshop 3.8.0. When I go to the point of writing of MIN, MCC, MNC according to the youtube video it says "range check error" and cdma ws freezes. Thank YOU for any help.
The problem has been resolved
Hi guys. I just want to thank anyone who has participated on that thread and inform that this kind of error -"Range check error" is caused by some kind of BUG. I have contacted few times the seller and they sent to me new version of CDMA WS which will fix the problem. And here we go again. As a result, I successfully flash HTC Thunderbolt to Page Plus Cellular without any problem whatsoever. So now I have my phone with unlimited talk text and 1G of data. My phone performing 1G speed which is enough to browse internet but if You intend to watch stream video that speed is not enough at all. I am fine with that. Thank God and You all Guys. So long.

Hi guys, I have a strange problem.
Sometimes when I try to call someone, the phone cuts off the connection right before it should vibrate to signal that the phone was answered. This means I can hear the other side picking the phone up, but I hear like "H" (sharp, short) when they try to say "hello". No matter whether I have phone by my ear or laying on the table, sometimes it cuts off, other times it doesn't. When I make the call again, it works.
This started to happening to me since I've updated my sw version to 1.21, when it was 1.15, it worked like a charm. For the last 4 days I tried to make 3 calls, every one of them was cut out and worked on the second try.
Anyone has the same problem/knows the solution?
Thank you very much, It's annoying as hell since every call costs me twice
EDIT: I'm using stock ROM, updated with OTA, no root

Sorry for my English, I'm Czech.
Really? No one?
desire drops calls after a few seconds
Hi!
I've the same problem, since today - very annoying. All start with a call from a friend and after I said "hello" the call ends, but network connection was fine (4 bars). After that I tried to call him back 10 times, every time the same thing - call drops after 1-3 seconds.
A Reboot solved the problem for one time, next call same issue. Tried my sim in the HTC Wildfire of my colleague - same network, everything is fine.
Now I started to uninstall all Taskkiller and other apps i recently added - no change. After 30 min try and error I realised that if I turn of the "Mobile Internet" and therefore the 3g connection, it works better.
anyone have a clue what this could cause?
Joint the club.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712030
Mine does exactly the same thing... first of all I thought it was the phone... returned it... new phone, different sim.... same problem.
Geeba have you tried to turn off "mobile internet"?
After my problems yesterday I turned it off and since that no call was dropped!!
Maybe its some sort of concurrent use of 3g Network and the data threads kill the call ... actually I'm no expert in Mobile Networks.
I'm looking forward to Froyo and hope to get rid of the probs.
Minos - yes I have turned off the 3g - but I then have internet connection problems... pretty pointless having a smart phone that has no internet access..
But yes it does help... the Desire I think should be able to monitor the two signals and switch between them accordingly .... but it doesn't. my Mrs has the Hero... it doesn't suffer this problem so personally I think its a problem with the desire.... I'm going to wait till Froyo then if its no better there will be a nice unbranded black Desire gracing ebay!
had the same issue for a few days then i uninstalled juice defender and i havnt had a single dropped call after
I have had the same issue. And then I have read somewhere here what to do.
You must first enter the phone's debug menu: *#*#4636#*#*
Then Choose "Phone Info", scroll down to" Set preferred network type" and set this to GSM auto (PRL). For me it solved all the call drop problem. As you are on different network maybe some other setting will work for you but it might worth to take a try with it.
I am not exactly sure what this sets. One thing is sure I still have 3G and HSUPA connection - and all type of connection works like charm. So nothing changed just no more call drops since then.
benoke: Thanks for your idea, actually my Desire is now beying hospitalized as it had dust under the screen, anyway I reported dropping calls as an issue too while returning in warranty so we'll see what happens
i sent a support question to htc and got that answer:
"Thank you for contacting HTC. In regards to your question, I can help you with that. It does indeed sound like a hardware fault, I would be grateful if you would call our tech-suooprt team and let our agents arrange the return / repair of this device for you. If you could just call 0845 890 0079, we can arrange the collection. I trust that this resolves your query. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if required."
But I don't think its an HW issue.
@benoke: the GSM auto setting worked - four 1h now.
Minos: it is good to hear that it might work for you too. I have recommended it to some of my friends and they all say it works for them.. so it really seems like solution...
Try the new version 5.09x radio in the android development in desire forum to see if that miight help

Haven't found a way to solve this issue yet. They told me at the service station that this is unrepairable issue occuring only with some SIM cards and that they would give me a refund.
I'm buying HTC Desire HD when it is available...
Hi guys, hopefully someone can give me some advice on this issue or point me in the right direction.
I purchased a black HTC desire (8181) phone with Orange branding.
Now ... I use a 3 network sim card.
I have two problems .....
1. I cannot connect to the internet even though i have a data pack from 3. I have even called up their technical department and they have gone through some settings with me but im still unable to get it connecting.
2. I cannot send an MMS for some reason. It keeps on automatically trying but doesnt go through. Ive tried a couple of different files but with the same result.
I really miss my internet
Please help guys
Thanking you in advance
Nor can I, I think there's an issue with orange at the moment. Can't get through to customer service either and I'm a high user customer so I don't usually have much of a wait getting through. Some one elsewhere on tinternet. Thinks they are doing tests prior to merging with other operator

...does yout device try to establish a data connection?
Maybe you have no/false apn's.
Check your apns!
The device does try to load the internet but it doesnt.
According to 3 my APN settings should be "3services" and APN type is "default"

I cant seem to find anything on xda that helps me with this problem
Someone please?
Please ignore
Try the 3netaccess APN detailed here.

Dave
That's how it can be described, I apologize in advance for the somewhat repeat of the thread (posted over in the Touch Pro 2 CDMA hood) because my TP2 is the verizon version. BUT it's GSM unlocked and I am running with Simple Mobile. I have no problem inputting the settings for the connection... their website has all the info right there. I reboot and everything seems fine and dandy or so I think.
I can send 50% of the time, and receiving I can do only once. Meaning I can receive one MMS and I have that issue where the picture is small. Anything after that gives me an error saying "bad gateway" and then I think I hear it laughing at me. It doesn't matter which ROM I am using. Energy, Blackout, try cooking my own, the stock VZW one... I only use the CDMA ROMS given the phone is CDMA.
Only posting over here due to the fact I am rolling with a GSM carrier. Hence a trainwreck.
Just came to mind, is it possible to experiment with the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 stock Arcsoft MMS, would need a link to it. Been searching high and low but no luck. Any info to help resolve this issue would be awesome.
I appreciate XDA and all here, this place ROCKS!
Hello everyone!
i just got my HTC One X last night.
This morning i got a new sim from T-Mobile and popped it in.
Everything was well except for the data. When I go to access point name menu it says sim card not detected but i can make calls and text.
I don't know what's wrong. I'm am running NRGZ rom if that helps. Yet to try it with the stock rom. I'm running it on the T-Mobile US network.
I tried rebooting and re flashing, but it still isn't detecting the sim card in the access point names menu.
I have no idea what to do.
Whenever i enter the T-Mobile APN settings, it does not save. it says APN Saved, but it does not show up in the list.
Thanks in advance for any help
So i was browsing through the Q and A here
and i found this link

I have been experiencing the exact same issue.
Yesterday I went to T-Mobile store and picked up a micro-SIM. Tried programming the APN by hand but had the same results as you described.
When I interacted with T-Mobile support last night, they tried to send in a message that supposedly would auto-configure the phone, but the message never arrived.
I got in touch with the ebay reseller, who suggested that the phone does not work on 1700MHz network provided by T-Mobile. I think it's not exact that, it has to do with the SIM itself.
I will pester T-Mobile store clerk tomorrow and post you results.
Guys, you have to fully read these threads. This issue has been discussed over several threads now.
The current micro SIM cards provided by T Mobile do not play nice with our One X. You have to search the retail stores for a non GBA micro SIM. The non GBA micro SIM cards allow for voice and data and your One X will auto configure.
The newer micro SIMs from T Mobile will only allow for voice. I don't exactly know why that is but that's what it is. Don't bother calling customer care as they cannot order the older/non GBA micro SIM for you. You have to call the physical stores and ask.
Also, you will currently only get 2g data until T Mobile USA switches 3g data to the 1900 MHz band in your area.
Good luck with your search!

Dude, you quoted a thread that I started, and you posted on that thread and I gave you a reply there and now here.
Take the time to read the post. Some of us may be going through what you are going through and are willing to share advice and experiences that may help you but you have to read the post/reply's.
Good luck with your One X.
Hello
I'm a noob and I'll try to be brief.
I have a HTC Desire with Cyanogenmod 7 installed.
Yesterday my 3g connection dropped and after a while my 2g too. It does not conect to a network:I use Orange.
I rebooted the phone, tried to manually select the operator but it did not work.
The error displayed is "selected network unavailable".
I spent several hours reading related posts but I couldn't find anything that worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Edit: I always think about the most complicated solutions ... I tried my SIM card in another phone and it did not work. I went to an Orange Shop and they gave me a new one. Sorry for wasting your time while reading this. Maybe it will be useful for others.
