Booq makes exactly what I want, but for the iPad:

I love the Fire's size, as it makes it easy to take to meetings and use discreetly for document access and viewing my calendar, etc. I find it a little clunk to carry it along with my paper notepad.

I haven't seen a case like that for the Fire, have you thought about getting a note taking app and using it rather than an actual note pad?
I can't completely eliminate paper from my workflow for multiple reasons, as much as I'd like to. I can't really sketch diagrams in a meaningful way, even with a stylus, I can't hand someone a note that I wrote on my kindle, and I can't type shorthand as quickly as I can write.
I may have to get something custom made.

I haven't tried these...
I have never tried these, but doing a Google search, this is what I found:

This one is for the BB Playbook, but one of the reviewers indicates that his Kindle Fire fits okay, and notice that it is on sale, $50 off the original price:

I'll see if I can find any others...
I'm too new to the forum to post links. You'll have cut and paste the web addresses. Sorry.

Anyone seen a case that holds an Eink kindle as well as a fire. I travel for a living and like each kindle for its particular use and would like a "book" like case with a kindle on each side.
Anyone seen anything like this?

I would love something like this as well! Anybody seen anything like it?
Glad I'm not alone. The Microsoft courier comes to mind. It was to be a two screened tablet. Although two kindles would be bulky, I plan on carrying two on the road and figured an adjoined case would be convienent.
It's a hard thing to search for. I keep getting results for kindle two cases.

In the meantime, my kindle 2 m-case has a pocket that I can sqeeze the Fire into. Fits snug but its so snug I fear it will wear the Fire's edge over time. Looking for something the other way around. A Fire case with a pocket I can fit a kindle 2 or 3 into.

me, too
Have y'all found a two-kindle case (Fire & Touch) yet? I too am looking for just such a thing.
The Fire and the E-ink Kindles are very different, so I wouldn't think that folks like us were all that unusual, but I haven't found any hint of a two-kindle case anywhere. Frustrating.
Maybe you could try making one out of two ? Glue them together or something ?
i tried doing a search on amazon for you but i didn't find anything. You might have to try to make something yourself!
You could do the Moleskine hack and with some elastic bands and a bit of elbow grease, make a holder on each of the covers. Check out this link for ideas: http://blupsblups.com/15-cool-diy-kindle-covers-and-cases/

I've always really liked the dodo case style, but I thought it would be neat to use an old book instead of the moleskin layer. This is my third prototype, and I think I've pretty much got everything figured out. I want to ad some spine reinforcement but I think everything else is on the mark. After a I get a final prototype, I'm gonna sale a few on etsy and then probably put together an instructable. In the mean time. Please give me any comments or feedback that might improve the over all concept.
Looks good dude!
Very nice.
Very nice work
You mean...you're ripping off the DodoCase?
What kind of retention apparatus are you using to keep the kindle in the case?
I love the case!
It's kind of inspiring me to make my own... I love my malware case but I admit, it's pretty boring.
pretty cool. I expected it to be recessed within the pages like the dodo, but this is cool too. Wouldn't mind an instructable on it.
The case is held in place by a few straps. The top 2 straps are elastic and the bottom 2 straps are velvet ribbons. These are attached to a card that is under the paper lining. I've been through several iterations before coming to this system. You really don't want more than 2 elastic straps. The kindle moves around too much if they are all elastic.

Cool! I went through a bunch of iterations on mine as well. Although mine was for my Nook Color before I gave it to my girlfriend. I used all elastic and it does move around a bit. I'm getting ready to start on a case for my Fire. You can see the one I made for my nook at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11622332&postcount=25
Thanks again for the ideas.
Really a nice case. Would love to see some instructions for it.

I've been using paper for the lining. I see you are using fabric. I've been thinking about trying that instead. Do you have any unraveling of the fabric edges?
Attaching the ribbon to a card under the lining is a great idea. I'm looking to do something similar with an out-dated calendar I bought off amazon recently. It's a Moleskine-like calendar journal that was ~$1 because it is for 2011. Perfect for me. I think I may glue the pages together and cutout a section for the fire instead of the elastic or ribbons. When that goes wrong )), I'll probably use your method. Thanks for sharing pics.

I've had about 10 people ask me about doing it that way, so it's on my list of possible modifications. I plan to try that in the next day or 2. If it works out I'll post pictures of how I chose to do it. If it goes poorly we can just pretend I never said anything.
I'd buy one! It would be cool if you do decide to sell them, to have them personalized of a person's favorite book.
Looks pretty good , Nice work
looks cool, im looking for a case so I can carry it around.
I have the bible on it and its what I use when I go to church.
so a case is a must
Today I received my "Mobile bluetooth Keyboard for nexus 7" bought via amazon UK for £16.99.
As this is a first impressions review I will type out the OP with the keyboard and add pictures in a second post.
The device comes in a fairly minimal and sleek box. This was nice as it fit through my letterbox saving me a trip to the post office to collect it. (fig.1). On the bottom are a list of specifications with plenty of typing errors to add some amusement. The back has a couple of pictures of the keyboard with and without the nexus docked (Fig.2).
Inside the box there is a microUSB cable, the keyboard and a detailed set-up guide (being a man I did not bother to read the instructions when setting up). Within are some amusing instructions including "Do not microwave" and "The battery light will start blingking". Nevertheless this guide will help those less familiar with connecting devices set up quickly. (Fig.3)
The device itself has a purposeful power switch and "connect" button with good feedback. the Bluetooth status light is very bright so you can easily see when its working.
The N7 fits quite well into the groove between the keyboard and back panel. Its not as secure as I hoped and took a few attempts to seat it correctly. It does feel very back-heavy but the lip out back makes me confident that its not going to tip over. (Figs 4 and 5).
The device itself is very small. You wont be able to touch type on it so its index fingers only if you have large hands like me. The keys have a good amount of travel but feel a tad spongey so there have been a few missed letters here and there. The ridge at the front is quite intrusive and prevents you hitting the space bar with your thumb which is frustrating at first but something you quickly get used to. For typing long documents (or in this case XDA posts) is nicer then it would be with an on screen keyboard and I have made far fewer typos.
The N7 fits nicely in the case and seems quite sturdy (Figs 6 and 7). It adds no more bulk then my smart cover and does work as a nice stand, but the angle the device is held at is quite steep so may not be idea for movies.
The need to hit ctrl to get characters like - and + seems a bit odd and took me a while to work out, but having these options is a welcome addition.
My overall first impression is positive. Yes a larger Bluetooth keyboard and separate stand is a better option if you intend to write a novel. However, if you want to avoid the extra bulk of a separate device and want a functional keyboard on the go this seems like a decent buy given the price.
Over the coming days I intend to write a bit of a paper I am working on with it whilst away from home. This should be a good test of the device and will also give me a chance to try out the media controls, battery life and use under less then ideal conditions without a proper desk. I will update this post after a few days. Please see post 2 for photos and links.

Great review. Judging by the pictures this appears to be the same as the minisuit http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009WSCW4S/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_at_ws_us?ie=UTF8

Yeah i think it is the same.
After a week with it I have to say its grown on me more and more, I have taken to using it for writing lengthy e-mails and some notes instead of the laptop when sitting around at home or on-the-move. It is defiantly a bit cramped but I'm fine with that as it fits like a normal case so can be carried with it as I would with a smart cover.
A small note on build quality, the fit is not perfect so it rattles and slips a little when closed, but this is a minor annoyance. Also it would have been nice to dock the tablet in screen-up when you don't have room/want to put the keyboard to one side.
If there is anything you want me to try with it please ask. You can't put the tablet in in portrait mode as it will top over unfortunately.

Find a must and functional stand for tablets. A must for a musician that uses an tablets while performing, you need this clamp-on music stand. What do you guys think?
Its quite cool with the look but I just wonder that this could be use only hanging with wall...so the grip should be very fine and it could be risky one to use Kindle with it because a sudden drop can be assumed....I hope the material of this mount will be fair enough to support the Tab

I hope so.
There was a case I saw a long time ago that seemed like it could be nice to have. As of today I started craving it and want to buy it.
It is case with a swivel hand strap on the back. This would allow for comfortable holding while drawing or carrying around. Allowing for working in Landscape or Portrait without any hand discomfort.
I had put the case on a wish list on Amazon, but I have since deleted it. Does anyone know of one? I am not having any luck finding on today.

I recently switched from a Note 10.1 to a Windows tablet, but also use it for drawing. Currently I am using a standard leather case with something called "hand-e-holder" attached. I got mine on Ebay, but Amazon sells it also. There is a pad(sort of like velcro) that attaches to the case or tablet. The handle then sticks to the pad, so the handle can be removed it needed. Whats also good is that it is very comfortable, and does not freely rotate when trying to draw.
I looked into a couple of other "handles" that either stick on or wrap around the device, but I think will fit your needs the best. When searching Amazon for the Hand-e-holder, if you look at the related products you'll find similar handles.
I tried cases that rotate but there's no resistance to it tends to rotate in every direction when trying to draw.
Hope that helps. Us artists, got to stick together.

Yeah, I have seen those around. Guess that is what I shall end up going with Thanks!
I was wanting to get a Windows Surface Pro 2. I think having a drawing tablet you can ACTUALLY install Photoshop on... man... would be nice. But the setup is not quite in my budget right now heh.

I went with a manufacturer refurbished Samsung Ativ 700T. It has the same specs as the Surface Pro 2, but is lighter, does not get as hot, a bit better battery life, and a 12" screen. That extra 2" makes a difference when using Photoshop with palettes. I got mine from an online retailer off off Ebay for $600. I use a wacom pen and it works the same as it would with the standard drawing tablet.
Just for preformance reference, I use Photoshop CS6 (64bit)on it. My files are around 80mb, with around 30-50 layers, and a dpi of 300. No real lag unless using a large brush. If you a fast sketcher you might get some lag, but at that sketch stage my image rez is usually at 72dpi so I don't have an issue.
If you have any specific question about my setup don't be afraid to ask. I'm always willing to help out a fellow artist. I did a lot of research on all the competing tablets. Plus I had the same decisions to make when purchasing mine.
On a side note, the best painting apps for Android are, Layerpaint HD, Sketchbook Pro, and Infinite Painter(note edition). LayerPaint HD is probably my favorite because of the tool set and the interface is the most similar to Photoshop. Sketchbook Pro and Infinite Painter have brushes that simulate actual brushes more realistically. Clover Paint is also interesting. Its the only one where you can set up the interface with custom shortcuts(to brushes and such). Its not very intuitive though.
Also if you didn't know you can use a actual wacom pen (UP-801E) with the Note. The eraser functions as an eraser and some of the apps use the side switch. Plus because it is bigger it is easier to hold for long periods. The pen is discontinued but you can still find some on Ebay and other online retailers.
