I have been seeing posts saying that it is still S-ON after unlocked with HTCDev, is that true? And does the version of HBoot maters?
If it is still S-ON, may I ask, can I
Root the device
Flash recovery
Flash kernel
overclock
and Flash ROM
with S-ON?
I really want to help with my friend's Buzz.
#1 yes it does leave S-on but you are allowed to root your phone and from there you can install clockwork rom managar and flash clockwork recover and then you can install roms etc.
#2 Yes you will need to change the hboot, but they will prvide it in the instructions as the wildfire has an asterik for hboot upgrade via ruu.
Acording to heaps of people are using HTC Supertools to get root. Although i have a Desire HD, when i have used this i have not got root, but thats just seems to be me
It should work fine if done correctly.
Hope this helps.

As far as i know, the only thing you can't flash is the radio. I am not sure about kernel though.

Have you tried to get into recovery through the bootloader? (Press volume down + power).

See ,I tried flashing clockwork mod recovery from Rom manager and rebooted into bootloader to go to recovery ,but I get the error ,and according to my friend ,you cannot flash Rom without any recovery.
The problem with my phone is I cannot boot into recovery

You can't get into recovery when flashed it from rom manager by the bootloader option. You have to reboot into recovery from rom manager after flashing it from there cause it's not permanent.
I tried doing that too ,but it has the same result.
is there any way I can put cm7 without flashing into recovery ?
Or can I delete the recovery and put it again ?
My friend told me that if you have the image file of the Rom (which can be backed up from another wildfire having cm7), you can boot into that image and install cm7 .
can this happen ?

You need to install cwm first, Rom manager just gives you a temporary downgrade to flash some older zips which use a different script to newer ones.
I believe you can use fastboot to install it, guide here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
If you follow this guide that will get you cwm 4.x.x and allow you to flash cm7 from recovery, the latest version of cwm is 5.0.2.0 however and the img is knocking about in various places on this forum.

Even though we have the same processor and stuff im not sure how rom compatability works between the two phones. AFAIK the kernels aren't built EXACTLY for the vivow_ct even though we use the same source (maybe idk what im talking about someone verify me)
anyways make sure you're running the correct hboot and proper recovery.
If you do have a custom recovery, try booting into it or go into the bootloader (press vol down and power) and go back to stock from an ruu
Are you S-on or S-off? What ROM were you trying to load? More info is needed than what you gave. The more info the more helpful we could be

The phone didnt boot in the rom only boots up in fast boot menu . So i downloaded the RUU for my pohne anyway and tried to flash it from there but then i got only error 140 Use the right update utility or something. Im with hboot 1.39 any ideas what is the problem and how can i fix it? Pls help!
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom stock based Rom , example: Revolution HD.

I think the problem is becouse when i typed to see ''fastboot getvar version-main'' it says its 3.18.401.1 and i dont think there is stock RUU with higher numbers and in the tutorial it is said ''NOTE: You can't use a lower numbered file eg 1.26.401.x and you also can't use a file from a different region eg 2.17.707.x.'' any ideas?

2 ways
1) go to HTC service center and ask them to flash the the software,
2)Use stock nandroid backup for your CID. then flash stock recovery and stock kernel and relock bootloader.
I have HOX the international version .with super CID
I unlocked the bootloader / update the hboot to 1.39 l and installed Android revolution rom .
then the phone started to reboot over and over by itself couple days after that , I dont know why .and I can not get it to charge .and it blinks green/red lights.
I searched and found alot of ways to get recharge , but the problem is I can not boot up to any rom , including using the RUU , it just reach the welcome screen the vibrate and restart !! .
I need to boot into a ROM .
any help would be appreciated .
thanks.

just to clarify , after I ihave installed the viper rom , it booted up , but I have noticed in each time Install rom , or thru RUU , it blinks red/green on continuous basis ...
Does sound like a hardware fault to me..

Hello XDA People . I have a problem and need your help , please
I have a Wildfire S , unlocked , S-on , hboot-1.09.0099 , radio 0-7.57.39.10m , rooted and working on Android Jelly bean 4.1.2 .
I made a backup through the recovery , then I did full wip to change the ROM , when I wanted to install the ROM I got this :
" E: Can't open /sdcard/cm10-2-10824-UNOFFICIAL-htc_buzz..zip(bad)
Installation aborted."
after that I made a restore to the backup , but it stopped responding & it becomes stopping on the first Logo of the htc everytime I turn it on.
I tried several ROMs with the same result
and till now the mobile has no ROM & it's not working
so I do need your help with my problem ..... Thank you
You flashed buzz Rom. This is for normal wildfire not "S" Version. This could even brick your wildfire s. You have to flash marvel Rom if you have gsm version or.Marvelc.if yo have an American wfs with no sim card.
