ok so over the last couple of weeks i've had no sound on incoming calls and now no sound on any calls at all thru the phone's earpiece. speakerphone and handsfree headphones still give sound on calls. what i'm wondering is, before i take it to vodagroan for repair, is there any firmware/kernel solution that i could try? I've tried flashing back to stock .42 but that brought no joy
r800i running stock .42 generic fw but have been bouncing around trying different roms lately
edit: just noticed that on power up i'm getting force close on com.google.android.talk could this be related?
many thanks
tom
Edit 2: would appear it was software related. After spending all day flashing roms to no avail, I tried an older version of flashtool and started from scratch which appears to have done the trick
Hi,
Whenever I receive a call and answer it the loudspeaker is automatically on. This is really getting annoying as I have to switch off loudspeaker after answering a call. Anyone know how to fix this???
I'm running ICS 4.1.B.0.431 on my ARC
Thanks
Hi all,
Quick question. Shortly after acquiring my r800x, the internal speaker for phone calls stopped working. Media and the speaker phone still work, but not my normal call speaker. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I just got a Sony Ericsson XPERIA and I am having the same issue. Did ever find a solution?
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with my Xperia S that started manifesting itself a few days ago. Basically when I receive a call the sound doesn't come out of the earpiece but instead comes from the back of the phone, as if the loudspeaker was being used, but very quietly.
I don't believe this is a headphone issue as I've never used headphones on my Xperia S.
The earpiece works under normal phone conditions, e.g. Turning volume up on the home screen producer a bleep as normal.
Turning on loudspeaker during a conversation will basically make the sound already coming out the back of the phone go loud as is expected when activating the loudspeaker option.
Has anyone else ever experienced this or know of a fix?
I have already tried the 'plug headphones in and out repeatedly' fix which hasn't worked.
I don't think detecting the headphones being plugged in is the issue.
Any advice welcome!
Does anyone think this could be a software issue? Someone in the Sony Forums has recommended doing a repair on my phone, which just means flashing a firmware file to the phone. I can do that, but it doesn't seem like that would be the issue, would it?
After I installed Cyanogenmod onto my Xperia ZL (c6502), the earpiece no longer works during calls. I have to use the loudspeaker or headphones in order to have a telephone call. And if I use the loudspeaker, I have to reboot the phone in order to use the phone again.
I discovered, though, that the earpiece works if I use Google Hangouts for calls. That indicates that this is a software issue.
I'm currently using the latest version of Resurrection Remix, which also has this issue. It seems that the earpiece on my phone will only work properly with the official Sony ROM.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I might fix this? I know from Google searches that others have had this problem, but haven't found any solutions that work for me.
Thanks!
