Test Micro SD card & reader - EVO 4G Accessories

I recently bought a new micro SD card & a reader. I tried out the reader today & wondering If I can find out if its a legit sandisk or a fake...Same for the micro SD card...? bump anyone?!

I don't think you'll have to worry about the reader being fake, they can be made pretty cheaply. I have one I bought from China for 99 cents and have been using for like a year now. Try Googling h2test I think the program is called. It will test your SD card for storage authenticity.

any microsd cards not recommended for artemis?

Knowing my luck I would order a microsd card that just happens to be the only one that wont work on the artemis. Anyone know if the sandisk, or transflash are incompatible. Or know of any others that are incompatible?

I've got a 2gb Sandisk card coming for mine tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
Toshiba 1 gig seems ok in mine
I have used a 2gb sandisk for about 3 weeks with no problems. A 1gb toshiba card worked as well.
I recommend the 2GB card for maps...

What a stupid idea to put the card under the SIM and battery. It drives me crazy. And yes, I do all transfers trough the card reader. I do not have neither patience nor desire to watch the activesync processing bar for the hours:-(

I used the sandisc 1GB for very short while with no problem.
Now I have Sandisc 2GB UltraII and everything goes great !(knock the wood)
It's pity that we still do not have 4GB microSD.....well maybe 2007 brings us some news in this direction, but at that moment it will be probably the time to sell Artemis and get a new toy

Just got an 8gb Lexar card from Office Depot...seems to be doing ok. I was using a Sandisk one before and it would 'scan' after a few reboots, but then stopped saying that.
Also, I am a bit perplexed about how the memory is partitioned on this phone. I realize it has 16gb internal, but it looks like 10-11gb of that is partitioned to look like a memory card. I just bought App2SD Pro and realized that the 'SD' area is actually the internal phone memory and not the 8gb microSD I just put inside the phone. What gives here? any way to modify App2SD to see the actual card and not internal? can I repartition all 16gb to be in the same area on the phone (looks like about 2gb is free for apps on the Internal..)
I have a lexar 16gb sd card. Formatted before use and never had any trouble. If its having trouble detecting then it could be your current rom right now. What rom are you using? Because i do remember havinf trouble detecting sometimes with certain roms. Usually stock roms are good with detection as they do extensive testing before release and i doubt its the hardware.

I would sell it on ebay & get a samsung one... Samsung 32gb class 10 is on sale at frys for $34.99 with 1.99 shipping. I have one on the way....
Here's the link

All morning I've been asking whose phone keeps ringing. It's mine! My lexar 16MB/10 lost its mind this morning along with my ringtones. Got it on sale at buydotcom and never formatted it, just plopped it in and started using it.
I was going to get a 32MB from Amazon until I read reviews from people who bought Lexar cards saying they did the exact same thing. I don't know if it's a knock off brand amazon is selling or if it's those cards themselves
I got one from tigerdirect no issues so far. I only have 5gb space left from the 32gb.

That's where I bought mine a while ago and I've had nothing but problems....
I reformatted it and it gave me multiple errors on multiple occasions...
Sucks because I paid I think near $100 at the time before the big price drop....kind of strange don't you think...
Are there knock off Lexars? Never knew...
I'm going with Samsung brand, ADATA or PNY, all of which are Korean made....not crap China.

Having issues transferring Movies to MicroSD

So, I know this may seem like a dumb question and i'd like to say that i should know what the problem is, But i can't seem to figure it out. I just bought a Sandisk 32GB MicroSD Class 10 card. I just ordered a Motorola Xoom Verizon Edition and what i was trying to do is transfer my movies from my PC to the card. I inserted the card in a usb reader and then my PC recognizes it right away. I open the folder and try to drag and drop a 2GB movie and it keeps giving me an error saying "can't read from source file or disk" I mean i have a custom built PC that is running W7 64bit and trust me the hardware is top of the line. I have all my movies saved on my SSD and all i under 3GB a piece.
Anyone heard or seen this problem or is there an easier way to getting these movies on my xoom then on to the card? If i had to, id be willing to put them on the hd on the xoom, but i was hoping to hace 64gb to play with.
Thanks in advance

Compatible with multiple memory cards
Including Secure Digital, Secure Digital High Capacity, SDXC and microSD formats.

Apparently the card reader I bought didn't support sdhc for microsd. I just bought it a month ago, you'd think it would support it.

SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDXC ($47.99)

I have ordered the 64 GB from Amazon twice and they both failed at 12GB, so I returned them. I saw this sale at BUY.COM and it says they are an authorized reseller, so I ordered one. It is only $47.99, shipped.

Did you buy an item that was sold by Amazon of from another vendor on Amazon? Did you suspect that the cards you bought were fakes or did you just get bad ones. I would be wary of buying this card again if I had two failures unless I could attribute the failures to being a fake Sandisk and I was sure that the 3rd was the real deal.

Nothing about the first two gave me the feeling they were fake. The first one I purchased from the Amazon Market, the second direct from Amazon. While copying files on my PC, they both started out at the same speed as my old class 4 16GB card. by the time they made it to 12GB, they had slowed to a crawl and then completely failed. At that point, they both died and couldn't even be formatted.
I will give it one last try with BUY.COM, if I have the same issue again, I am sending it back and buying a 32GB card.

Hi there,
if you like to know I am right now in the same situation. I buy a Sandisk microSDXC 64GB and the first time I put that card in my OLD card reader the PC recognize the card immediately, so to test the card I start copy a file .iso of 6.5GB into the card and then completely failed less than 6.5GB. Now I can't format the card, no way. I try with SD Formatter 3.1, HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool 2.1.8, Gparted Live, CMD from Windows 7, no way to format the card. I can only delete the wrong partitions. All the app see the full capacity card but I can't format the f....ng card. I made few research and somebody said I have to have Card Reader fit in with SDXC. All the devices which you use have to be compatible with SDXC, if not you have problems. That is not what I say, that is what the other people saying. I just don't understand why my PC recognize the card with my old card reader and then failed to copy the file and now I can't format the card, something wrong with this stuff.
Anyway, to be fully sure I buyed the Mobilelite G3 Kingston Card reader so I let you know when I get it if something change!
I hate this stuff, but I need this stuff!
Today I received the reader SDXC, no luck, all the same, I have to send back the card, so probably was not the reader the problem, this cards are **** and I don't know why?
If anyone know something about this cards, please let me know, thanks.

which device do you use? Do you formatted the card in different system file (NTFS, FAT32)? The old device see the card?
I purchased the 64gb card. used the adapter that came with it and it was recognized by my PC immediately (used the PC to format in exFat).
I also had another USB style adapter that I used to plug my old 32gb class 6 card into. I had that connected to my PC as well.
Then i just transferred all the files from the 32 over onto the 64 using my PC, and popped the 64gb card into my phone after the files were all transferred.
I can plug my Galaxy 3 into my PC using USB and it'll recognize by my card memory and phone memory separately.

SD Card

I have a 64gbs SD card in my Tab S,i want to replace this with a 128gbs card,if I dismount the 64 gb card can I get everything of it via my pc onto the 128gb card.also can someone recommend a good 128gb card.Thank You.Longlegs
Yes you can. You'll probably have to copy the contents of your SD card first to your PC, then to the new card. As for SD cards, I actually recommend Samsung themselves. They are more expensive but they work all the time every time and aren't faked. Sandisk is great as well, but with there being so many fakes out there, you never know what your really getting.
Samsung or Sandisk are the best, but buy from somewhere reputable as there are a lot of fakes out there, 4gb microsd that look to the computer/tablet as 128gb until you try putting more than 4gb of data on it then you get errors and data lost.
You can use the apps in the link below to test if your card is fake or not, they require a Windows computer and a microsd to full size sd adaptor.
I used H2testw myself on my new Samsung 128gb evo+ microsd it tested as real not fake.
Always format your new microsd inside your table, you can do this in the settings/storage/format sd card.
Also below is an app, that can tell what brand your microsd thinks it is from the manfacturing data on the microsd card, so a Samsung should show as Samsung and Sandisk show as Sandisk, the app is not perfect, read the faq about this.
