[Q] Anyone know how to increase the vibration level of Galaxy W device for calls? - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hello everyone
I like to know if there is any way to amplify the vibration of this device.
I searched several android applications, but nothing at all.
I enabled the root access on my W Galaxy, installed some advanced tools but have not yet managed a way to increase the vibration of the device.
Best Regards

Improve the vibration via Kernel configuration

Hello people
After many searches and trying dozens of applications, one guy tell how I can make this improvement, but this level of programming is too high for me, but, here is the solution to increase the vibration of Galaxy W:
Response from Mr Chad Froebel (Google Play application developper):
You should be able to get it from samsung. I googled the specifications and it looks like it uses a qualcomm chip so the
vibration driver will most likely be at:
/arch/arm/mach-msm/msm_vibrator.c
You're going to want to get the kernel source, modify that file (there is a parameter called PMIC_VIBRATOR_LEVEL) and then compile a new kernel.
If you are unsure how to compile a kernel yourself, you may be able to contact someone who develops specifically for your device to compile one for you.
I would, but I do not have the device to test it on and I don't like to send out kernels that I haven't personally tested.
if it experienced programmer does not feel comfortable doing this adaptation, I imagine that I am a mere apprentice.
Nevertheless I am downloading the open source code available from Samsung and when able to do this modification safely post here for all
Who wants the source code of Samsung mobile phones, just download the template for your specic phone at the following site:
Denied permission to put the link of Samsung opensource phones sdk
* How I am still new in the forum I do not yet have permission to post the Samsung site that contains open source code available, but can easily find the official site or searching on google for opensource.samsung
Any help is welcome!

I'm no developer either, but I guess I'll give it a try later :-D

Light sensor level mod - no dev?

Hello guys, I've made the question, but the Q&A section is not very visited so...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776871
Is there a DEV that can make the light sensor become adjustable in the SENSE UI roms? like on AOSP (i think open desire has it or cyanogen)
http://twitpic.com/2k4qjz
+1 really love to have one

Which one exactly? I'm willing to take a look at it as the issue annoys me too, if someone points me to the source (but no guarantees that I might have the time or be able to do anything about it).
EDIT: Found the CM source for it.
+1 I would love to see this as well.

you were faster than me searching, i was out lunching and haven't saw the topic reply e-mail
if you need assistance on testing, just PM me or let me know at the topic.
It would be nice to have this working, it's so annoying...
Why the f*ck do they include a light sensor if it doesn't work properly?!even after releasing fixes!?lol
Although I think I might know the answer...
"OK, so we gave them the hardware with buggy software to keep them busy...let them(users) figure out a fix, and this way we have time to develop some even nicer phones..."
The main problem here is that since we don't have HTC Sense sources, as they are proprietary, we can't modify system settings with an application which doesn't run as part of the system.
My understanding therefore is that this can be done in two ways:
1) Writing a kernel module which sets the appropriate/specified values on boot (I don't have enough experience to do that) or modifying the default kernel values.
2) Modify values in /sys (wherever they may be hiding) which will be reset any time you reboot, and also may get overwritten by the system at will.
That's my limited understanding anyway. If anyone would like to shed more light on this then please feel free to, or any other ways how this could be achieved...
Moved to Q&A. Please don't post question threads in Development.
fair enough
could we simply start an "official light sensor level developement for sense UI" thread or something like that ?
+1 guys we really neeeed that **** ;p
tks for your work !

shizznit! its for a friend.... its on 2.2 i kno that....
what other specs are needed?
she said its an "infotmic sawee10"..... from websurfing i found out its a clone of flytouch but that about it..... ppl @slatedroid are no help, all they do is delete my post...
i dont own one personally, but ive used a friends once or twice, and he asked me the same thing its relly difficult to pinpoint the model, but these are usually the differneces:
1. what color is the power light / Charge
2. does it vibrate on start up
3. any model info
4. WMT version, Can be found in setting about(if its a WonderMedia Technologies)
5. Download and use Android system info look at the memory (There are some vendors that fake the mem.)
6. look at the build.prop for any vendor info
EDIT** these instructions should help you root:
http://thebelv.altervista.org/Flytouch3/rooting/rooting_flytouch3.html
cool brah! thnx! ill get the spec asap! really appreciate the help!! ppl @ slatedroid were making me RAGE!! lolz
also, do you know the specs for screen resolution (1024x600 or 1024x576) and charger (9v or 5v)?
ok regardless of HW info, im 99% certain you have a KIRF, so your options are limited (read* non-existant ) for ROMS...
root wont be a problem, there are several methods. but the big issue is flashing roms over USB+mem stick(only gaurenteed method) has been known to cause more bricks than quality results with the SAWEE10/MERCURY...
i recommend ROOT + Titanium Backup (clear bloat) + System Panel/task killer (eliminate unnecessary processes) + New Launcher (your choice [or hers, whichever], its ALWAYS user preference ;P) to optimize the tablet.
ill PM you a bunch of links to help with these efforts and shed some light on this mess of a shadow tablet
Hey Gearhead I don't know what was happening with your post on my thread at SlateDroid. My last post to you however asked for specs on your tablet to make certain the firmware I have available in my roms section would work for her tablet. As Solidus mentioned, you really do run the risk of bricking because of the type of tablet you have. However, if you still intend to take the risk and flash, the usb flashing method is preferred over the IUW burning method as IUW is virtually almost irreversible unless you truly know what you're doing. On post 2 of my slate thread I go into great detail on root and bloat removal for improving your current system's performance. All the info you need is provided there in addition to what Solidus may have already provided to you. I know you have a bad taste in your mouth for that community now because you thought someone was deleting your post. However, I came up with that thread because I too could not find any info on my shadow of a tablet. If you look all over the internet you practically can't find device specific info for it.
Whether it's here on XDA, androidpassions, or SlateDroid, feel free to pm me and I will help you with what I can. Don't forget though that the people on that thread including myself have her tablet so all the problems she will face ahead will most likely been faced and overcome by them.
Thanks for providing a link to this XDA thread. Doing so may have further allowed me to assist you since you may not return to Slate.

Thanks Yeah this place has become a demanding :handouts now: type of place lately with people who will chastise you should you accidentally ask a question that was previously answered in some hidden grave deep within the thread lol. However there are still a lot of good people here. I support the Droid Incredible on xda along with all my mods and tweaks that are across platform, and then my tablet on slatedroid. I don't know what was happening to this new user's posts but it really set him off. I'm glad you were able to provide him some info. If you feel like exploring a new community bent on being "chastise free", look up AndroidPassions.com. ****Mods and Admins my post is in no way intended to pull members away from this site but rather offer another avenue for additional support of their device: ) ****

It's not a real 2.3.. it's a 2.2 mutant lol it lies. I discourage your flashing of the roms mainly because yours came sawee and not tab10. Although the rom most likely will work, you run the risk or losing wifi.. even mine having been tab 10 even providing the correct drivers/firmware was unable to get the internal wifi functional again. So I purchased a $13 nano USB dongle and it works fantastic. Should you decide to take the risk, I would try the official ibex build on my page or the sawee build.

[Q] Xperia Arc | CM9.0 | FXP106| Can't add any APN's

Hello,
I flashed my Arc with baseband 62 on the latest CM 9.0 FXP106. I'm pretty satisfied so far. The only thing that bugs me is that it seems that I can't add any APN's. That means if I want to add a new APN and I want to save it, it won't let me do it.
I tried backing it up with APNsBU (ROOT) -> didn't work
Hard reset -> didn't work
Fixing permissions in ROM Manager -> didn't work
Thanks for your help!
1.) Have you heard of posting in the relevant thread?

Bin4ary posted a probably way to fix it, check out CM9's thread for more information.
Bin4ry said:
From what i can tell now the problem is that in CM9 we are using the ICS (ofc ) RIL-structure. There are already some oldRil features implemented, but this features are mainly for phones which use standard communications. We are having this weird Qualcomm RIL which acts different. For example we have no Status which tells System that SIM is ready, this status is piggybacked for us in another call.
On the other side we SE implemented some more messages for additional informations. For example: OperatorInfo is not standard one, it has one more entry.
So i need to go through the lines and check we're i can implement the different structure well without breaking other devices. Maybe i am able to trigger all needed parcel reads from RIL, maybe not. The main difference is lying in some other files which was still working in GB RIL structure.
Please wait for next week when i am able to work again on this issue. It's annoying me too
No. I will work on GSM data. Jerpelea will fix this problem ASAP.
Since we are 2 people working on this CM9 for the SE phones we can split the work.
And it is always better to work on 1 problem after another.
You see, 2 people -> 2 Todo lists

[REQUEST] testers for app

Well as the title say I need some testers. I'm developing an app which one for now works with, Galaxy Nexus Maguro, but I need some Toro and Toroplus testers. (Since my nexus is maguro and I can't try it) also if any of you have a SGS3 I will appreciate if you test it as well since it suppose to work with the SGS3.
What you need
Samsung Galaxy Nexus rooted and/or Samsung Galaxy S3 rooted.
What you need to do
Simple, just start the app (App Test) you will see a text that says: ----Notifications---- and under that text other text that says TEST Notification.
1. You need to see a toggle button at the right of the second text.
2. When you turn on the toggle you have to see a notification that says: Notification ONLINE
3. When you turn off the toggle the notification should be clear.
What if I don't see something about the 3 points above?
Post what you see, and tell me what the Toast message says. I will see and try to fix it.
PLEASE POST IF IT WORKS AND IF IT DOESN'T
App is attached.
Thanks

Well this one does nothing, just to know if it works. If you download it you will see that it does nothing. I don't think I need it since it just to know if a code works.
But this is one part of a app that I'm developing, which one have so far a few of root tools, but it will include a lot of root tools.
Dont think this thread should be in this development section....needs to be moved to some other section.

As a developer you should already know that giving root access to an app, of which its purposes are unknown, can be dangerous. The paranoia normal users (like me) have is not unfounded. That being said, I'm not trying to accuse you of anything at all. It's just that slightly more clarification would be appreciated before you ask for someone to install apps that request for root rights.
// edit: Oh, and I'll be available if you need more maguro devices for testing.
OP you do realize that you've posted this in the wrong section.. do you?
There is a whole seperate section for apps/games in xda.
