Creamed Glacier FAQ (w/fixes & workarounds) UPDATED Dec. 16

Figured i start one since the cyanogenmod 7 faq by ziggy34 worked out and to ease some of the frustration.

seeing 3g and wondering if you are using h+?
yes you are using H+ or 3g. the h+ or 4g symbol have not been impemented yet. try a speed test to see where you are at on speed.

The above patch includes a bundle of updates from feb's beta 4.0, an APN list, exta live wall papers, an add blocking hosts file and a few other things.
Calendar sync, market, wifi, talk, and headphones all worked for me.
How to install:
---------------
- Reboot into Recovery
- FULL WIPE (factory reset,delvik,system) [i had issues when i didn't full wipe]
- Install Feb's creamed glacier beta 3.0
- Install TDJ's v13 beta ICS kernal
- Install this zip
- Reboot
- On first boot select "Setup Wizard"
Note: If the APNs don't load go into the APN settings, hit the menu button, and select "restore defaults"
As I said if you break your phone don't come crying to me, no warranty!

If you want to fix it. You can:
1. grab the apk from the beta 4 zip
2. push it to /system/app
3. change the perms to match the others.
4. reboot.

Def wrong forum. The reason it works for cm7 is because cyanogen is a whole different level. It a good idea just the wrong place for it.

UPDATE #3
Mostly working TEST rom up next wensday the latest!! I would have released it today but unfortunaley im at the hospital at the moment so yeah.
UPDATE #2:
Got android.process.acore away, but now i have a new fc: com.android.phone. Cant fix it now, because i am going on holiday for today and tomorrow(wensday and thursday). Will continue when i get back on friday.
Also I will release a test build next wensday the latest. But first i will provide the alpha test build to my beta tester.

will work on this tomorrow and thursday and the whole next week. Will update this thread when progress is made.

i understand but if you get boot did you try to change the libs from cm7 on your rom hw and modules and all lib folder ?

sensors,gps,etc to get work you will find this folder on system/lib
also look for init.d folder on etc folder and change if is need
change also cm7 camera libs to your port cm7 based libs

what permission to fix if the rom don`t have any drivers from original phone and have drivers from ported phone.

This is Could be My First Thread, but I Hope all of you can Help me for a little bit...
I Have so Many Question in My PM and Some Massage in Others from a Lot of My Friend that Maybe always Count on Me.
But I Still Cannot Answer Them, its Because I'm Noob in Android and also Linux and Others.
I'm Just a User and not a Developer yet, but I Love To Read and Try Some Possibilities to Increase my Knowledge.
It's all about Custom ROM for GT-S6102
Since We are already Have More Than One Custom ROM so i Made This Request and Ask Thread

1. How to Get My Native Languages in Custom Rom? It's Indonesian Languages, We are in XSE Baseband
The languages are stored in the framework of the rom as values-xx (xx is the short form of your language example en is for english). You can add folders in there and then compile the framework
2. Can I Request to Put Our Indonesian Languages Into The Custom ROM?
LOL! Its your xda account. Do anything you want. Just dont spam the devs.
3. How to Make Third Party Apk into becoming System for Replacing Stock System APK?
Place the desired apk in /system/app of the rom

I think he not try to spam and maybe only know this is section for duos but not see this is developer section for duos..
Question and Ask for duos still can use in Q/A section bro just give detail title.. U can pm techno to move thread to that sec and dont forget to say sorry..

1. Can u describe more detail maybe in new thread.
2. I've never want to spam with the dev. But I just need to know is there any dev like you, can put my Indonesian language in your Custom Rom as a pach or as any possible way.
3. I've try this before but i still have the apps installed in data part not in system part.

Kernel stuff enough to confusing me and only 5mb so its easy to upload&download than customRom..
And i dont have duos too thats make development more hard than i expected..
Im available now to build duos kernel but seem not much tester and reporting fast (if im oL) here but still very thanked to my tester like nitu and mano..

1.If you have decompiled an apk, you would obtain alot of files such as values-en,values-de etc in the /res folder. These folders contain all the translations of the rom. If you want new languages then decompile any app which has your language and copy all the folders starting from the name "values-" to decompiled framework-res.apk.
2.I meant something else from my statement. Dont spam the devs with PM's such as "I WANT THIS IN YOUR ROM". It really irritates us.Just say it once on our rom thread and its done. Yeah, I have received requests from some people to add more languages in the rom so I will be trying to add them.Even though I have never added languages..
3.Maybe the cache is created in /data folder? Or could be that you didnt copy the apk file to correct location. I dont have any idea

Lol!! your post did not hurt me I was jus saying that you should never spam any dev... personally i love recommendations. Right now I am trying to add languages in my rom, if it works out then I will post tutorial.

Moved to General.

Thirds party apk contain lib file before u put in system estract the apk first and pick the lib file from it then paste on lib folder and u are good to go to put the app at system app
Note:this is important or u will got fc with the apk that u put

and also should i put back the lib file into apk pack or not?

U can decompile it or using 7zip
U must put the lib file then put originals thirds party app in system

[ROM] CM10-2012-11-01,flappjaxxx kernal

Just plain cm10 for now with h0tcakez JB | 3.0.43 For Hercules kernel.
I will be tweaking and changing things as I go. I will be taking suggestions to. If its a good idea and I am able to I will.
I am not a dev, I just enjoy building from source. I will probably wind up with a little from everyone in this rom. I love Slim Bean, I love AOKP but have to pass on the unicorn lol.
This first rom has no cherry picks at all other than flappjaxxx kernal, all compiled from source. I think a kernal compiled with is better than flashing later. But hey, thats just me and might not make any difference at all. I take no credit for any of this, all I did was compile from cm and flappjaxxx source and will be using others soon. I am just trying to give a little back to xda and all that have helped me!
If you flashed cm's latest build and then h0tcakez JB | 3.0.43 kernel than this is what you already have. At least for now.

Did you try my CM10 or AOKP? I don't know that much about devving, but if you ask for help, I'll try to help you. I can't stand iPhones or anything to do with Apple. Thanks for the support!

I tried your cm10, I like aokp but don't do unicorns. If you have any problems feel free to ask me also, I think it's great what you are doing at your age!

As far as add custom kernel, on this device you just pull from the dev's source instead of cm's. In my case it would be: https://github.com/flappjaxxx/android_kernel_samsung_msm8660-common , instead of https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_msm8660-common.
Look in your .repo file and change your: local_manifest.xml file. Your .repo file is hidden by default, so open your aokp file and click ctrl + h to show hidden files and there is your .repo

Hello Gio users, I have compiled MiniCM10 for Galaxy Gio . I don't own this devices. So i need Beta testers. Any experienced android user can test. Tester must be able to take logcat so that i can fix bugs!
To haters: If you are not interested, Stay away from this thread!

yep i want to test it but why don't you make MiniCM10.1? CM10.1 is more faster and beautiful than cm10

MiniCM10 is after market ROM like ParanoidAndroid, AOKP, Cyanmobile, etc. It is totally different ROM Created by NobodyAtAll (RD), Dark_dog (RT) & Team. It has more features then CM10 Plus It is specially Built For LDPI Devices. MiniCM10 is specially made for msm7x27 semc devices (Low Legacy Devices)

you can PM me its link so i can test that rom and see what bugs i found.

EDIT #1:
Tried to replace its some meta-inf files but problem still persist. >_<
EDIT # 2:
Now need to investigate its some files that makes device not to install the rom.
EDIT # 3:
Tried to remove some useless "Set_perm" lines but it still says that error
EDIT # 4:
Seams to be "audio_effects.conf" permission is wrong in /vendor/etc instead of /system/etc.lets try to flash again.
