Just plain cm10 for now with h0tcakez JB | 3.0.43 For Hercules kernel.
I will be tweaking and changing things as I go. I will be taking suggestions to. If its a good idea and I am able to I will.
I am not a dev, I just enjoy building from source. I will probably wind up with a little from everyone in this rom. I love Slim Bean, I love AOKP but have to pass on the unicorn lol.
This first rom has no cherry picks at all other than flappjaxxx kernal, all compiled from source. I think a kernal compiled with is better than flashing later. But hey, thats just me and might not make any difference at all. I take no credit for any of this, all I did was compile from cm and flappjaxxx source and will be using others soon. I am just trying to give a little back to xda and all that have helped me!
If you flashed cm's latest build and then h0tcakez JB | 3.0.43 kernel than this is what you already have. At least for now.

As far as add custom kernel, on this device you just pull from the dev's source instead of cm's. In my case it would be: https://github.com/flappjaxxx/android_kernel_samsung_msm8660-common , instead of https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_msm8660-common.
Look in your .repo file and change your: local_manifest.xml file. Your .repo file is hidden by default, so open your aokp file and click ctrl + h to show hidden files and there is your .repo
I also recommend reading this thread if you have not already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798056

Here is the beta 3 to 4 update.zip I talked about earlier.
All credit goes to Feb and the other awesome devs. I just created an update.zip that seems to work for me. If you break your phone using this, it's not my fault. I have only tested it quickly.
creamed_glacier_beta_3to4_wifi_fixes_apns_extras.zip (34.95 MB)
The above patch includes a bundle of updates from feb's beta 4.0, an APN list, exta live wall papers, an add blocking hosts file and a few other things.
Calendar sync, market, wifi, talk, and headphones all worked for me.
How to install:
---------------
- Reboot into Recovery
- FULL WIPE (factory reset, delvik, system) [i had issues when i didn't full wipe]
- Install Feb's creamed glacier beta 3.0
- Install TDJ's v13 beta ICS kernal
- Install this zip
- Reboot
- On first boot select "Setup Wizard"
Note: If the APNs don't load go into the APN settings, hit the menu button, and select "restore defaults"
As I said if you break your phone don't come crying to me, no warranty!
If this helped hit the "Thanks" button

If you want to fix it. You can:
1. grab the apk from the beta 4 zip
2. push it to /system/app
3. change the perms to match the others.
4. reboot.
That is what I did and it seems to work.

Nice, was waiting to see if we got a CM9 then was going to start a new F.A.Q. but yours will do
Please keep in mind this is a work in progress and is currently intended for devs only. Do not flash if you don't know what you're doing.
Ok, after making some progress towards getting this thing ready for user-space, I've decided to finally start a thread on it just to see if I can get anyone interested or willing to help... This ROM is currently in below Alpha status (if there is such a thing) and does not boot, but I believe I can get it booting in about a week barring a system crash or a zombie apocalypse. Again, this is only meant for a jumping off point towards getting AOSP ICS on our I957s, so don't blame me if you flash this and your tab becomes bricked...

Base drivers can be used from the msm8660 ics source code provided by Code Aurora, and proprietary can be used from the stock Honeycomb firmware. Hopefully.

Yes, but the problem is we would probably need our own ICS kernel to get most of the stuff working. I'll try my hand at ICSMOD5, but I'm not sure if anything will work without a dedicated kernel.

Ok, I'm not really going to be able to use my tab for dev purposes this weekends, but if you want to try a port here's what you need to do.
1) Setup a build enviornment in dsixda's kitchen with ICSMOD5.
2) You'll need to look at the updater-script and change the partition blocks according to the Tab (e.g system needs to be 25 instead of 24).
3) Two ways to do 3. One: grab the kernel from this thread and put it in ICSMOD, or Two: You could just leave the kernel as is. I'm wary of option Two.
4) Flash it. If it doesn't boot, try to get a logcat and send it my way. If it does, then yay ICS.

OK I have followed these instructions; downloaded ICSMOD5, set up the kitchen, grabbed the kernel (assuming that's boot.img) from your zipfile in the first post of this thread and copied it to the working folder, overwriting the Skyrocket kernel.
Then I looked at the updater script to see if partitions need changing. Per this post the layout looks OK. Example: /system is p24 and /boot is p08 already.
So far so good? Planning a test for later today.
Exciting let me know how it goes

FIRST OF ALL, ALL THE CREDITS GO TO TEAM KANG, NOT ME. I AM NOT EVEN A DEVELOPER. I'M JUST A GUY WHO WANTS TO SHARE THIS AMAZING ROM.
This is the official nightly from AOKP team. Team Kang did all the work for this ROM.
Features:
Notification Toggles
Circle MOD
Overclock upto 1.8GHz
AOKP Boot animation
Lockscreen option (Volume wake, Lockscreen wallpaper, Quick Pin Unlock)
Navigation Bar customization
LED Control
Clock control
Battery Bar (MIUI Style)
Theme Chooser Built In
I will update the features if Team Kang releases new updates

Here's the link to Toro: http://androtransfer.com/?developer=AOKP&folder=toro
Here's the link to Gapps: http://androtransfer.com/?developer=Gapps
Instructions:
Download the right ROM for your phone
Download Gapps
Move them to GNex's internal storage
Boot into custom recovery
MAKE A BACKUP!
Do factory reset/wipe
Clear cache
Clear dalvik cache
Flash the ROM
Flash Gapps
Reboot
Enjoy!
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I will be glad to help. But remember that I am not the developer of this ROM...
I found this ROM to be very stable and very smooth/fast. I found little to no lag with CPU overclocked to 1.4GHz.
Enjoy and remember, I will not be responsible for any issues.
Kernels that I recommend

As you should know, CyanogenMod 10 in itself is still a work in progress. The ROM still isn't near completion and a good bunch of features are still missing that were in for example CM9. So what I've decided to do is provide nightly builds of CM10 using modpunks work. Even though modpunk left as he has a new phone, his work on CM10 is basically complete since as far as I can tell everything works.
These builds will be nightly builds because every day cm change something in their code, some of these are feature adds some are bug fixes. These nighties can include the fixes and I am in no way working on or helping modpunk on cm10. I'm just providing nightly builds because CM10 is changing constantly and modpunk won't be uploading daily builds.
Changelogs are going to be a hard thing to do, so what I suggest is that you take a look here for a nightly changelog. It says it's for the GSM Galaxy Nexus, but it still includes the upstream CM changes. A guide to understanding this changelog is that all the changes start with the specific repo that has been modified (for example, if something in the framework was changed, the change will begin with "framework:"). If the first bit is anything other than a device (e.g. "i9000:", "maguro:", "toro:", etc.) then it's upstream and is included in the nightly.
I've created a script (which is here if anyone is interested), that will build and upload a nightly every day. And I guess that's all there is to it.
Downloads will all be hosted at the link below and obviously the file with the most recent date is the latest nightly.

Well, already written in post #1 OP. So i do not need the quote.
Anyway, thanks for trying to help
Wtf, doesn't work neither Int2ext nor Data2sd. Bootloop.

So often reported: USE Link2SD!!!
"Bootloop" while optimizing the Apps? No problem at all: Just plug out the battery and after three seconds plug it back in. Also had this problem, this "method" worked for me!

Try this D2Ext+

it work's for me
Sorry guys, the ROM Manager downloads won't be working because the downloads for that are hosted in my Dropbox, which has just been suspended for using too much traffic for 3 days. So until I can find a direct download mirror to host the files, ROM Manager downloads won't work any more. Use GooManager if you really do want OTA updates.

Damn, didn't know Dropbox would go all draconian. Thankfully Google Drive has been relatively accommodating.

Didn't work for me. Well, I'm gonna use Link2sd. I don't like this app, but better than anything. In Alpha0, Int2Ext+ worked, but not now
Thanks.
EDIT: Damn Link2sd. Dudeman, some flashable .zip like Int2ext or S2ext or whatever could work? I'm having some troubles with Link2sd.. Thanks.
is the Camera works ? Anyone?
Thank you for giving this strong little phone such great support. I own an I777 SGS2, but keep up with this section for my friend who has the MarvelC. I will surely throw some beer money your way for some MarvelC nightlies, keep up the great work Dudeman1996 and Modpunk!
Based on: This thread.

Tested working on FXP145 and newer. Older should probably work too, but I'm not sure about that. (CM10 and Xperia S, of course)
Please report if it works and any bug you run in to! And you might want to backup the files modded by this mod (services.jar, framework-res.apk, framework2.jar, framework.jar and android.policy.jar which are all in the system/framework/ folder) in case you want to get back to the original lockscreen.

Download:
Here.
Warning! Somebody reported to me the mod isn't working properly on FXP149. Somebody else reported it working though, so I guess it should be fine. You probably want to backup your files for the sake of safety though.
Install instructions:
1. Save the zip to your phone's memory.
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. Go to "Install from zip" -> "Install from sdcard" and select the zip file.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
5 . Reboot device and enjoy!

Big thanks to:
evilisto for making the patch needed for this mod!
The FXP team(Bin4ry, Defer, Kali, Jerpelea) for making this beatiful rom!
Been waiting for this and it works great. Only thing is that when you unlock it the time doesn't dissappear straight away, but this is so minor I don't really care. Thanks a lot!

Will this work with Paranoid Android 2.55 ? :x
Probably will work. Back up the files and try it if you want to know, you can always restore!

The framework is different. Give him the PA 2.55 framework-res.apk (and maybe a few other files, I don't remember what is used) so he can apply over it.
I am just waiting for FXP to fix the problems on their kernel which was causing problems on dual boot to update my PA to the next version, so consider it, @OP, a request for the future.

Yes I know about that first one, but as you can see in the video, it's in the original mod too. So I don't think I can do anything about it. Will look into the source though.
That second thing looks interesting, because here it shows up every time, even though sometimes barely visible. Are you sure it really isn't there sometimes?

Sadly enough that won't work, because the patch (from the original mod) isn't done to the compiled (framework-res.apk, framework.jar etc...) files, but to the source code. Then I compile it and pick out the files needed, pack them up in a zip file, and deliver them to you .

Yeah I was already thinking about that, but I don't know for sure if it will work. Since this patch is made for CM10, I think it might break some things specific to PA. I'll download the PA source and try it out when I have some spare time

It can break something at PA source, but it is based on CM10, so how knows.

At second glance it is there but behind the black background so hardly visible for me

Ynx ion advance.

Yeah that's kinda what I thought. I'll look into the code if I can maybe "layer it up" or something, but don't pin me down on that .

That should be possible for sure. That's the the T-Mo S2 right? Downloading the source code atm.

Because it's made for CM10 my friend but still thanks for trying because I now know I'll have to build a special one for PA and AOKP
Btw, a small status update: I've ran out of disk space on my wubi install so I'm waiting on my NAS to come, which should arrive somewhere next week. Then I can move all my media (movies, music etc...) to the NAS, and resize my wubi disk to a lot bigger one Then the sources I was downloading can continue
Perfect in fxp 147

I thought it would still work, isn't AOKP based on CM or am I way out of line here? Anyways a version for AOKP would be appreciated :good:

Yes, the
guy who made this patch (evilisto), also made some other ones like the BB10 (I believe) LockScreen. If you want you can request one from his threads and I should be able to make it
