I've been looking around for the last little while for a nice kickstand case for this phone. Preferably one that will fit the 2000mAh extended battery + cover I have coming for my GSM Galaxy Nexus.
The only two I've found are the VZW holster + case combo, and the Seidio Active case with kickstand. Both of these look seriously bulky.
Has anyone found anything closer to the slim TPU cases but with a kickstand? I see them in stores for the Galaxy S2 all the time, but never for our Galaxy Nexus.
ebay! Silicon hybrids do a job and are about £2.50.
A link would be great if you could provide. I've been on Ebay for hours in the past few weeks looking for one.

I went with the VzW case and have the extended battery without the battery door. Really helps dissipate the heat and if my phone ever gets stuck it is easy to remove the battery. I have dropped it a few times and the phone still doesn't have a scratch on it. Love having the ability to put the phone in landscape or portrait.

What battery and case did you get? I was thinking of doing the same thing and wasn't sure if it would work.

I have the Seido Active Case with kickstand. It does add some bulk, but as someone who takes public transit regularly I was uncomfortable holding my Nexus without a case since it felt like it'd slip upon any jarring movement. The rubber part of the case does catch on my jeans sometimes (I don't wear baggy jeans), but other than that I've been really happy with the case. The kickstand is truly awesome; I have a Tasker setting to enable screen rotation when connected to work wifi, so it just sits in front of me in landscape.
I also have the 2000mAh extended battery, and it fits fine.
I don't know of any alternatives though, I liked the protection of the Seido and didn't look further.

So I got the Extended Battery this weekend and the extended Battery Door/cover wont fit in my Best Buy Rocket dog Snap on case (sucks!). Anyone know what case will fit the droid x with the extended battery? Any snap on thin case like the one I have? Any pics?
Thanks

You can do what I do and simply leave the back door off when you put the case on it.... The extended battery sits flush really.
Or you can just use the standard battery door cover. It will still fit.
I saw in another post that someone who used the standard cover with the extended battery said it looked like it was putting a bit of pressure onto the inside of the phone (I can't remember when or who posted this, sorry, so no link, but it was on xda I believe). So if that's true, that's probably not a good thing to do.
It does put pressure on some components if you use the stock battery cover. You can see it clearly about half way up the screen, and applying any pressure against the cover results in "pretty colors" on the screen. I tested it and quickly decided against such. I'm most concerned what would happen if further pressure would be applied to the screen or phone in pocket, and what could happen in even a minor drop. I use a clear snap on case, it stays on reliably.
I'm currently using my extended battery with the original thinner back cover so I can keep my phone in my Snap on case. There wasn't much pressure and im not seeing any effects on my screen but my phone back is heating up much more then usual. I also know that battery expand when they heat up, so I'm worry about future pressure issues with my original back cover.
So I'm looking for a snap on cover that will fit the extended back cover.
I have also learned you can just take the back cover of the Droid X off, and use a thinner hard shell case without adverse effects.
I'm rocking it with my cheap TPU case. Fits nicely and I like the TPU for 'drop protection' over a brittle case.

Have a TPU case myself...loving it and fits perfect with extended battery and door
I am using the stock battery door with the extended battery and have not had any problems. I can push on the back cover with quite a bit of force and there aren't any discolorations on the screen. The cover was slightly more difficult to slide on, but once I did it the first time it now goes on perfectly without any extra pressure. I am also not noticing any extra heat from doing this. I have a battery widget that shows me the temperature and I logged the temps for a day with standard battery and then again the extended and if there was any difference it was always less than 2 degrees fahrenheit.
Lucky, my standard door over my extended battery leaves a dark mark near the middle of the screen. So back to the extended door for me
After five days, I can confirm the otterbox commuter case works perfectly with the extended battery and cover.

I purchased the Seidio Rugged case and it fits both the standard and extd battery.
Which TPU cases are you guys using or where did you buy them? I need 3 for all my Droid X's
The Trident case works as well.
I have the OtterBox Defender Series case and it fits great with the Motorola extended battery installed.

Wow, maybe I received defective otterbox cases, but neither defender nor commuter works perfectly with my extended battery and cover.....ok, but definitely not perfect!

Yeah, I didn't notice for a good while it as its hard to tell, but the commuter does not set perfectly flush with the screen along the side with the extended cover on. That lets some dust in.
Has anybody tried the sedio innocase surface with the extended battery cover? I am thinking about getting the extended battery and this is the case I use.

I have the seidio innocase surface combo and just received the extended battery. I can use my case with the extended battery door. It barely separates the middle of the case. I was able to get the stock battery door on the extended battery with no problem whatsoever. Either way I am happy with it. The extra battery life is incredible.

Anyone know which cases are confirmed to fit the extended battery?
Otterbox Defender series works great one mine.
Are there any cases that don't double the bulk of the phone that will fit correctly? Maybe a TPU case?
I got the Incipio Sycrillic case with mine. The extended battery doesn't really add that much bulk so the case still fits.
How much longer would the battery last? About double or so I would guess?
The extended battery is 2100 mAh, so it should give about 25% - 30% more usage time. The battery adds hardly any bulk to the device. It fits with the Otterbox Defender series (a tight fit but it works), any silicone case, and the Incipio Double Cover that Verizon sells. It does not fit with Verizon's Shell Holster Combo (with the kick stand).

25%-30%?
I think it's more like 13-14%%
25% of 1850mAH is 462mAH (so 2312mAH total) and this is only 2100mAH...
Supposedly the TPU cases still work on this.
I'm looking for one of those barely-there TPU cases for the GN. It's too thin and the extended battery doesn't even thicken it up, plus its slippery.
ebay
im pretty sure ebay will have them for like 5 or 6 dollars.. thats where i normally get my external wall chargers from they get the job done

How do you like the Incipio Case? Does it add alot of bulk? Does it add alot of weight?

Barely there is by Casemate, TPU is a company now named Ditztronic. Or, does Casemate Barely There use TPU (the material) as a case.
I read a review about the Barely There that siad it doesn't actually cover the whole phone, so if you drop it on the bottom, there is no protection. That was deal breaker.
What about the commuter series? My defender is too bulky
This sucks... one major reason for buying the phone was due to it's lightweight thin build.. and I can't really seem to find a case that leaves the phone thin and light..
I really like the Verizon shell/holster combo but it doesn't fit the extended battery
May have to risk going naked

Fuhhh.. are you serious? I ordered the extended battery hoping that it would fit the shell/holster set. I like it because it's simple and has a kickstand that I want to use. So the shell doesn't snap onto the gnex?
Correct.. just barely doesn't fit. That's exactly why I like it.. not too thick and it has the kickstand if I need it

Thanks.. i guess i'll sell this and find another case..
I like the trident cases personally. I know that they are going to be releasing one mid january, but do you guys think that with the extended it will fit?
So the incipio feather case wont fit with the extended battery? I had imagined the 1-2mm would make it a tighter fit but the impact would be negligible - can someone confirm that with the extended battery it indeed wont fit?
CaseMate barely there fits fine with the extended battery. The incipio silicrylic fits, but has a slight gap at the sides where the hard plastic fits over the silicone.

Why don't you get a skin? They're tricky to put on and really only offer scratch protection, but probably better than nothing.
I have the CDMA Galaxy Nexus and I put it in an otterbox on the first day. When I found out Verizon was selling the extended battery half-off , I dithered. Would it fit my Otterbox? I ordered it, received it, pulled the old battery, and put the new one in. I put n the extended battery back.... and couldn't get the Otterbox to lock on... that is until I put the original battery backing on instead.
Yes, you can use the extended battery with the original back and still fit it in the otterbox. It is a tight fit. The plastic pegs barely line up, but it works. Very pleased for a bit more battery life and my phone still being safe.
**EDIT** I have the Otterbox Defender
are you using defender or commuter? it is a snug fit for commuter with extended battery using original backplate, but i need to cut the rubber skin where the battery is to get the NFC chip working
I am using the defender.
Nuts. I had hoped you were talking about the commuter. The defender is freaking huge, and then add in that the rubber makes it nigh impossible to get out of your pocket.
I had the defender for my Nexus One and got rid of it after a month or two. It got to be that if I needed to get the phone out of my pocket while sitting down, I was screwed.
Yeah, sorry. I use the belt clip, but feel like I am carrying around a tablet.
I can barely get it in my pant pocket.
I'm really looking to getting this case. I loved the look and feel of it on my Nexus S... until I realized the inside edges where it snapped together scratched my phone up!
I have a carbon skin on this phone, but it doesn't really cover everything. Can someone here that HAS the SURFACE case chime in on how it's protecting your phone? I'm most interested if you've owned it for more than a week or two and could pop it back open and examine the phone.
The insides of these cases other than the felt part tend to be hard and rough. I had to import my Galaxy Nexus so I'm really hesitant to chance scratching it, especially since the SURFACE with holster is almost 50 bucks. Any help would be appreciated!
I've had a Nexus One, and Nexus S, now Galaxy nexus.
I've own the Seidio Surface case on ALL of them. On the Galaxy Nexus, the case is super fricking hard to put on and especially take off. The Nexus S was much easier. I'm guessing it definitely will scratch up the sides.
Also there are no clips on the bottom, so using the 2000mah battery on my GSM Galaxy Nexus is very very tight and the bottom opens up.
I picked up the Surface Combo with belt holster for around $30 on Amazon so I didn't mind the price. I definitely would not buy it for $50.
I stopped using the Surface because of the bigger battery. I'm using the Qmadix Holster case. Search and you can see my review I posted about it.

Thanks for the great review on the seidio. I know they have a bigger version for the Verizon version but the risk of damage is too much. If it had felt all over the inside it might be perfect. The case feels awesome when it was on the nexus... seems like such an easy fix. I will look into that other case but again I'm worried about not having the top or bottom covered.
I guess the tpu cases will have to do for now. They will fit in a seidio holster and the ballistic case will be out soon too.

I got the active case and I think its much better over their surface line because it has the rubber case covered in the hard case and it will not ever fall off your phone if you drop it, it seems. I have seen hard cases not hold on to well and pop off when you drop your phone. The only annoying thing is it will get some dust and pocket lint stuck to the rubber part, but i feel more secure with my phone knowing if I drop it, it will be fine. I dropped my Tbolt in active case many times and had some nasty flying times and it never got one ding or scratch on it with the Active case on it.
I recently purchased the Gorilla Gadgets extended battery for my SIII. At the same time, I ordered the snap on case that came with it. The problem is that it doesn't fit snugly around the sides of the device. Have any of you out there using extended batteries come across a good case for it? I thought I would ask here and hopefully save some money on other ill fitting cases.
Best I have found is Airbus on amazon. Its not perfect but its far better then the hyperion cases or the yesoo cases stay far away from yesoo. The airbus case did require punching out the mic holes with a paper punch as they were to small and blocking access.
Anything that isn't a TPU case?
At this point, I would be happy with anything that fits properly. The case from Gorilla Gadget is close, but not close enough, and I'm anal about my phone!
Seidioonline is the best I have found

Have you considered Seidio's extended cases?
Not sure if Seidio's extended battery is the same dimensions as the GG one though.
I personally ordered the active and one of their batteries, though shipping is taking forever
