Update: Galaxy Nexus will have "fortified glass" (???) and *NOT* Gorilla Glass !
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/27/samsung-galaxy-nexus-confirmed-to-have-fortified-glass-not-go/
According to Samsung, however, it does use a type of "fortified glass," but the company isn't getting any more specific than that..

The Nexus will have Gorilla Glass. This was confirmed by a Samsung rep who was asked several times just to be sure.

oh jeeez *rolls eyes*
Rob from Phandroid talked to one of Samsung exceutives during the show in HK and was told it GN has Gorilla Glass.
i also heard that it has gorilla glass....
The Galaxy Nexus doesn't have Gorilla Glass because of the Contour Screen technology... Gorilla Glass could never be used to make it, I guess. Anyway, my friend has a Nexus S, and it uses that same thing, and the screen is great.
The only thing I'm wondering about the GN... isn't the high resolution going to suck all the ****ing battery?
i think that the battery will be the same as a galaxy S II

Poor example, the HD2 does indeed have Gorilla Glass.
The Nexus One, whoever, does not.
The Nexus One does not have Gorilla Glass. It does however have hardened glass, just like Gorilla Glass is. The basic principle is that the internal forces in the glass are stronger than the force applied to it while scratching it. If it gets hit with a sharp object however the glass will shatter because the forces making it strong are no longer "balanced" so it will work against you and shatter the glass, unlike normal glass that would just get a crack.
I think because Gorilla Glass doesn't supply curved glass.
Nexus S doesn't have it and it works just fine.
I like my phone naked. No case, no screen protector and still scratches free after 10months.

Actually, it does
Source:http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/htc
It's listed under HTC Dragon, the codename it had before launch. My old Nexus One never got a scratch on the screen, and I sold it in that same condition.
NOTE: My current Sensation has "Gorilla Glass" but is moderately scratched up; especially visible when the screen is off with a hint of glare. Gorilla Glass is not all that it's cracked up to be, it's just harder to CRACK not SCRATCH, hence why the Galaxy SII fared so well against the iPhone4S in the drop test. Gorilla "Glass" is essentially just a hardened plastic. Real glass cannot bend as well as Gorilla "Glass".

I'm not an engineer...
does anyone know when will it release
It has been a week after one x is released.
i still have seen the one x is on the compatible product list of the invisible shield
anyone has any idea
email them
Haven't heard anything but is it needed? I dropped my Desire HD flat on a marble floor for instance and the scratches just wiped off, gorilla glass is fantastic, and with the One X it's Gorilla Glass 2 which I guess should be even better.
I too am waiting for a film-type protector rather than the normal screen protectors.
Phantomskinz
SGP
Best Skinz Ever
Invisible shield
Bodyguardz
Any of those should do.

There is no scratch-proof material. Over time a lot of hairline scratches develop on any surface, especially if you keep the phone in your pocket all the time like I do; and I hate my gear looking worn.
The wife's Wildfire S (which has Gorilla Glass) has a couple of scratches on the screen already, most of them not bad with the backlight on but one is clearly visible so I don't believe the hype of GG... My Desire has a full body InvisibleShield on from day one and still looks pristine under it; not to mention the skin provides a great grip on the phone surface which saved me many times from dropping the phone accidentally.
I'm definitely ordering a full body Shield once I pick up my One X. It's well worth a few quids to keep my stuff looking great.
Skinomi is selling one for the One X. It's also a film-type screen protector. I have one on my Jetstream and I think it's better than invisible shield. It has a lot smoother surface.

edit: when I try to buy it, it said out of stock :S

Even my HTC Hero has a gorilla glass. SO yeah, One V has a "CORNING GORILLA GLASS" . and it will not break at falling. even if it falls on concrete!

Idk as well. but I dropped my phone from 1 meter of height yesterday. its just works fine...
yikes, glad it's still working.
I think HTC One V has Gorilla display 1 not 2.
My phone fell from the table yesterday face down and the top glass covering instantly cracked. I doubt if One V even has gorilla glass. Before it cracked, it had taken many small scratches too, even though i kept it inside a cover always.

my phone didn't fell face down. maybe that's why it does't have crack. maybe you should try to return to your seller. If you lucky, they can give you a brand new phone or refund.
I called up HTC customer care, they told it won't be covered under warranty. I need to pay for the whole Super LCD 2 unit. Even though just the top glass is cracked.

fell on what? a warhammer? please...
No dude fell on the ****ing floor
So i would say it doesn't have a gorilla glass. Specs on the box and its site doesn't state a gorilla glass either. The glass layer is something which makes viewing angles better as far as i know, not a gorilla indeed. I was shocked to see scratches even when i kept it in a cloth cover all the time. And now a fall from 2 feet face down cracked it completely.

Gorilla glass is not that strong. I'm not surprised it cracked when falling face down.
My friend has a Motorola Defy like me (you know, that "lifeproof" phone with gorilla glass), and she dropped it about a metre onto concrete, at a 45 degree angle. Whole glass panel was completely shattered.
On the flip side, I have dropped my Defy a bunch of times (including a few times where I have accidentally launched it forward a few metres) and it has been fine, but the initial impact has always been on the back. I think all phones will shatter when they hit the ground screen first.
Gorilla glass prevents abrasion and scratches from keys or coins etc in your pocket, but not falling a metre or two onto concrete or tiles.
Hi guys ! I want to buy desire 816 and i have a question . The screen have gorrilla glass or not ? On different sites there is information that it has gorilla 2 or 3
I dont believe so.
But you can get a tempered glass screen protector for it.
Also see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2763433
Virgin Mobile Desire 816 has gorilla glass 2. I also have the Nilkin 9H tempered glass protector..... Love it.

I'm going with the Gorilla Glass 2 theory. I put the tru-shield glass protector ( http://www.amazon.com/TruShield-HTC-Desire-Screen-Protector/dp/B00LV83KKM ) on mine and I love it. Great service too. I had a slight problem and they took care of it immediately. Worth the extra couple of dollars.
Planning to buy screen protector and I saw this gorilla glass screen protector is it good?
Or any recommendations thanks!
Dude atleast give a link lol There are probably like 20 gorialla glass screen protectors (or atleast claim it) out there
