Dunno whether this is a problem of my phone, my rom/kernel or the AppExtractor itself...
i did a nandroid backup before flashing a new rom, and i put it in my PC.
After flashing, i put the backup back into the phone and did restoring.
Everything was smooth, but after restoring the apk, the phone is stuck in ''restoring the data''..
I restarted the app and tried restoring one by one. Most of the time, i can restore 1 data, but when i restored another one, it stuck in ''0/1''..
Has anyone ever come across this problem??
It was quite annoying to FC the app and launch it again as the app list needs to be loaded EVERY SINGLE time
Thanks

I searched the forum for something similar to no avail, so if I missed it, I apologize. So I had been running CM 6 stable for a month and everything was great. Hadn't upgraded kernels, or any other modifications. Turned my phone off for the night last night, and when it came back on, stuck in bootloop for no good reason why. So, oh well, I'll just flash a new ROM, no big deal, then tried CM7RC, it boots, I use titanium backup to restore everything, it all works well, until I reboot the phone again, and bam, right back to bootloop, but this time with CM7. I'm completely out of ideas, any help would be appreciated. I've wiped davlik, cache, did factory reset, everything I can think of.
Thanks ahead of time.
Try fixing permissions in recovery, if that fails then try wiping ALL data and installing CM again. If that doesn't work, try a Sense ROM, it might be an AOSP problem
so here's an update to my problem so far. What I had left out earlier was that I could install a new ROM, and I could reboot my phone and it would work fine. Not until I used Titanium Backup and restored all of my apps and settings did I run into a problem. With that said, I did as PGleo86 said. This time, it worked just as it had before. Phone was fine, until I restored data. So I thought about what I had installed last. So the last time I wiped everything and installed CM7, I used Titanium Backup, but this time I omitted a few programs and settings, namely, Amazon App Store and Angry Birds Rio. This time when I rebooted, it worked fine. So I am slowly going to restore the settings, apps, and data I omitted one at a time and reboot my phone to see if any of them put me into boot loop. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? Particularly with Amazon App Store or Angry Birds Rio? (I did recently upgrade my version of Swype as well)

From what I understand, its restoring the data that is killin it. You can restore all the apps you like, but when you start restoring data, it seriously screws with alot of roms. You will keep having the issue as long as your restoring data. Good luck dude
This may take a while but try reloading a few apps at a time to see which on in particular is causing the issue. I saw a post like this somewhere on this massive forum, but the person found out it was one app that was killing the boot process.
Different roms store data in different places. So titanium is writing data to somewhere it shouldn't be.
HI i am wondering can you somehow restore certain parts of a nandroid backup, maybe if you could unpack the img or something??
The reason i ask is because i am on Oxygen 2.0.3 and last night i was using shazam and the phone rebooted. It was like a hot restart cuz there was no splash screen.
Then when it restarted the touch screen wouldnt work to unlock, also the sim unlock keypad would not come up.
I Rebooted several time nothing changed, i even tried to reinstall oxygen again without wiping and that didnt change a thing.
I decided to make a nandroid backup incase it can be fixed and then i restored a different nandroid backup from about 3 weeks ago.
That fixed everything but i had some bookmarks that i needed and some phone numbers in sms messages.
I noticed in advanced restore it will let you restore the different partitions like Data, system, sd-ext etc etc. Would one of these options help me?
THanks
Data would help. Really for SMS you need an SMS backup app.
Sent from CM7
Yeah I realise in hindsight that a sms backup would help, but the unlock screen dosnt work for that backup to install anything now.
I might try and restore the data from the nandroid backup and see how it goes

My phone keeps getting stuck on the samsung boot screen after restoring with TI.
I used the LI3 ROM and AIO modem zips here, everything went fine until after I used TI to get my apps and date back. After I reboot, I get stuck. I've tried using both XML and snapshot to restore with TI.
I have also tried letting google play restore all my apps (before I stopped it and went right to TI).
That didn't work either. Also, if I don't restart I keep getting temp freezes with an error message - "unfortunately, logsprovider has stopped"
Any ideas?
If anyone else is looking for a solution to a similar problem, this is how I solved it.
Restored to a nandroid on LIF from before I tried all this. Used TI to backup sms only, so I wouldn't lose a weeks worth of messages (you could do more but I didn't care about anything else that wasn't synced to gmail anyway.) Restored to a nandroid on LG8. Made a TI backup for everything except the sms. Full wipe and flash to LI3. Used TI restore, no problems.
There must have been some system data from the LIF TI backup that didn't agree with LI3.
freeza suggested another route. You could try restoring user apps and data only from TI then doing system data 1 by one until you found the screwed up one. Luckily I had two recent nandroids but if you don't, or there is enough data you don't want to lose that the longer version is worth it, you might want to give that a try.
Hi all, i really need help here. I search through forums but still cant get any solution.
I rooted my s3 earlier today and freezing some stuff using titanium backup. It work fine until suddenly it got restart automatically. After that, i got stuck on the "Samsung" logo. I do not install any custom rom as i'm noob to all these things. I froze those apps and some bloat stuff according to some list i got from the internet.
What i can do to get my phone running back without losing any data? I forgot to back up using clockwork after i root my phone.
Please help!!!!!!

You can still backup now (if you have a custom recovery installed. if you don't, then i think there are some clockworkmod Odin flashables available, no idea where). Then when you erase, and boot up next time, use titanium to open the nandroid backup (because it can do that, as long as you have the full version, which you can just find cracked versions of), and it will add the whole nandroid backup to part of the "backed up list" in titanium. All the data should be preserved too (I don't rememebr if it also takes the cache).
and just a question to devs, is it even possible to cause boot loops by freezing bloat? I have never had such issues. I even froze my browser, the calendar, file manager, clock, and nearly every app in a clean AOSP build (did that for a benchmark once), and it hasn't bootlooped. Think there is something else? Some other factor?

I have never seen or heard freezing bloat to cause boot loops. He froze something he shouldn't have. Try Odin back to stock then re-root or leave stock. Don't do things you don't understand.
It sounds like you froze something you shouldn't have like this poster said. Before freezing in titanium always make a nandroid backup and do a quick Google search to make sure it's safe to freeze.
Hello everyone,
I was a noob when it came to rooting/custom rom flashing etc. and I always avoided doing it for my note 2. With the help of XDA and so many helpful threads, I was able to learn it easily(thanks to the contributing members). However, I am facing a bit of a problem with the restoration with the help of TWRP.
Initially, when I restored while using the stock 4.4.2 kitkat with root, it worked like a charm. After that I flashed CM-13 ROM made by Ivan. I was also able to recover app data for the google play signed in apps via wi-fi. I tried to restore after the new installation and there was no problem with the custom recovery, however when I booted up the phone, half my apps went missing and I was getting constant pop-ups that apps like settings, supersu, update have stopped working. I tried restoring again, but now I am not geting any display but just a greyish screen and the pop-ups just like before stating that the apps have stopped working.
Am I missing something? Do I need to do something else?
Thank you.
Hello and good evening,
you can't restore just data. Your device will miss some files in system partition and apps like SetupWizard will keep stopping.
The only thing, you can so is restoring the whole Backup.
The next time I suggest you to backup only Apps with Titanium-Backup and restore them after installing.
Kind regards

Yes, I restored the whole thing, that is the whole backup which was generated by TWRP on my my sd-card. And then I am getting these pop-ups and a greyish screen on my phone. Only the options generated by holding the power button-i.e. power off, restart etc. is getting displayed after holding it. I can't see anything else.
