Hey everyone. I've been working hard on theming my CM7 to look as close to ICS as possible just because ICS is so much prettier. Does anyone have their own "ICS looking" setups that they are willing to share? Here's my setup (they are all Free Market apps):
Sonny Sekhon's CM7 ICS Theme (HDPI)
kovdev's Ice Cream Sandwich theme for GO Launcher
CM Halo Style Rings Lockscreen
GOSMS with GO ICS Theme
johntanmi's Ice Cream Sandwich Keyboard
Anyone else have better setups or anything like that? I really wish I could get the ICS transitions but I'm unaware of how to edit ROMs and stuff like that. I also wish that the incoming call/call screen could be ICS themed too, but it appears that I would have to change the framework.

For the animations, use UOT Kitchen, look it up on Google, as I can't post a link, on my phone now. It allows you to theme a lot of things, all you have to do is upload framework-res.apk and systemui.apk from your current rom. Or for visual theming, you can actually upload a cm7 theme onto it, and edit it to change whatever you want, like battery style and color or other icons. Keep in mind though, that to change animations, using a cm7 theme will not change those, to change them, you have to do the framework-res, and systemui way. Its a very useful website, just play with it, and you can learn to do a lot

Is this the one listed in my original post, or is this a new one? Could you be specific as to what the actual market app is?
Ah sorry. I dont think its the one listed in your original post. Its the Ice Cream Sandwich CM7 Theme from Sonny Sekhon. Got it from the market. I liked it the most because the theme seemed most complete. To set it once its downloaded, go to the Theme Chooser app included with CM7.

I was thinking more piece-meal ; I've seen some ppl who are like "man, I love that theme" but are actually talking about a beautiful widgets clock skin .
But ya, looking at it, I see: Blue market version, Blue circle battery mod, the transparent Handcent mod, Beautiful Widgets for the clock, I have that Icon pack somewhere, but forgot name. Depends on what portion of the theme he's looking for.
Other than those, a few framework png replacements. As far as lockscreen and dialer.. I don't mess with those (other than 3rd party apps for lockscreen.. which I don't like).
Edit: cripes.. just discovered that all of the mods are listed in that thread

It is just hard for me to justify porting this if only one or two people want it, and it will need to be ported again as soon as official froyo is dropped. Best thing to do is get your hands dirty and try doing it yourself. Check out the theming guides posted by Dreamforgotten, they will get you going. You can find links to them in the wiki.

i think the only thing keeping me from jumping on this project is the fact of official froyo dropping and having to re-port. it is a super sexy theme overall! but i've already got to re-port gingerbread for official froyo. tell you what, if no one else does it once i get that done i'll probably take it on.
that being said, i also agree though, check out dreams guides, they are entirely what got me going, the basics of swapping pngs are actually pretty easy

I'm in the same boat. I have to port both my themes and support yours . The problem with this theme in question is the xml work that needs to be done to make allot of that stuff clear.

This theme seems similar to Riptide9's: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913576
It has similar glass icons and such.
The notification bar has the same shells as the apps, which makes it look a bit cluttered to me.
I have to say I while I like Riptide9's notification icons, I think mysteryemotionz's Frozen Emotionless Beast icons are better (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858041). They have more color and character. His are nicely animated too, can't tell if Riptide's are or not.

UDPATE: 18Aug11 I've just finished up a port and addition to Pandroid's DropTheme in White for Froyo and Gingerbread MDPI Dream/Sapphire! Screenshots are attached below.
Download and instructions can be found at www.sisterbird.com/android-themes
Enjoy!.
I've finally gotten around to setting up a website to house my collection of MDPI themes. Each has been set up as a Metamorph base for Gingerbread and for Froyo. Thanks to kellinwood for the ZipThemer app on the Market, you can create a flashable zip on your phone for whatever Gingerbread or Froyo ROM you are running.
All downloads, instructions and more screenshots can be found at http://www.sisterbird.com/android-themes.

Awesome themes! Some amazing work you've done!
I was wondering, how can i get the dialer in the Minimal Blue theme?
Ooops!
Thanks for your kind words! You caught my mistake in including that picture of the themed dialer. My metamorphs do not include that for the sake of consistency. I tried to include the same parts in all of them so that you could go from theme to theme without reflashing the ROM to undo the changes or ending up with some pretty wild color schemes.
BUT...Rhamej's original metamorph did include the dialer. You can get it here and use ZipThemer to add it to your flashable zip and make an undo flashable at the same time. His original theme did not include the icons I use in settings, has some extra pngs not needed in framework and does not have the SystemUI for Gingerbread. You can use ZipThemer to pick and choose the parts you want out of both. Of course you could use Metamorph to apply just the dialer, but you wouldn't have an undo.

Also, Is it possible to combine two themes? As in, for example: Using the notification pull bar of one theme & using the system UI of another?
I believe so...you can pick and choose sub-parts from different themes and combine them in one flashable zip. Let me know how that works out for you.

hi,
I want to use the theme Minimal Blue on ADS_Magpie, based of Ezgingerbread 2.3.4. I was just curious to know, how will it effect on performance, battery use etc ???
also, please tell me, if it will work with launcher pro? or it is meant for ADW launcher only?
Themes typically have no affect on battery life, performance, etc. The pngs have been optimized.
hey sisterchick, what thread was I talking to you in last night?!?! I cant find it here or on the cyanogenmod site.. I was asking about Honey B... should it include the clock, wallpaper and dock bar as in the picture in th OP on froyo for Laezlo??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1083639
It was in the Sapphire thread (see above).
Ahh...I understand now. Yes, all those things you mentioned are personal settings/preferences and not part of the theme. BUT, I can point in the right direction to set that look up for yourself.
The clock widget you see in the screen shot is Simi Clock Widget available from the market. (The analog clock that is part of the system is part of the theme.)
In ADW and Launcher Pro, you can customized your app icons in the dock. Those are minimal text icons I made and/or collected. I've attached a file with an assortment that you can use. Save to your SD card.
The wallpaper is courtesy of National Geographic Photo of the Day, resized for the phone. I've posted it below as well. Save to the DCIM folder on your SD card and apply.
Hello,
The title says it all......
I currently am running Android Revolution HD with the transparent soft key mods installed, along with some custom soft key icons that I made...
I can't stand the plain black behind the soft keys (while on the home screen), so I use the transparent soft key mod and then I add a dock to my wallpaper so it makes it look like I have a new background behind my softkeys.
This is my current set-up:

Here is where the problem lies -
I really want to switch to one of these AOSP roms for the addition of all the customization options, and power menus and all of that. But the transparent soft key mods that I was using, won't work with AOSP roms. Ive tried and tried, they just break the SystemUI and make the phone unusable until I restore my backup.
Im not sure why the mod doesn't work on these AOSP roms. I think it has something to do with how they modded the SystemUI to be able to customize colors and stuff right from the new rom, but whatever the reason, I can't use the transparent mod on these roms... but I can't stand the black background behind the softkeys while im on my home screen.
I have done a few mods myself, but mostly image edits/swaps and very basic codes. Im not good enough at it to figure this one out. Somebody should make a transparent soft key mod that works with these AOSP roms, or maybe incorporate a transparency option into the rom's settings. That would be really awesome.
I agree i will keep watch on this post!!

While your in an app or anything like the like the app drawer etc... it reverts back to the black background... which is perfect for me... the home screen remains transparent and then it goes black on anything else.
It just sucks so bad, because I want a new AOSP rom so bad, but I can't live with the plain black on my home screen.

Thats strange, the transparent soft key mods worked on Android Rev Hd, an a few other roms, but every rom that I have tried that said "AOSP" in the title, the transparency mod broke the SystemUI. I wonder why, I really wish I could get this working with some of these newer roms....
I think it's not AOKP oder AOSP or something
Android Rev HD is based on Android 4.0.2 and nearly every other ROM is based on 4.0.3. Somewhere there is the cause for the problem, I think.

I even tried to decompile my own systemui and do that and ended with the same result. I'm hoping AOKP can add this soon as an option because I really just cant seem to get this working right.

(Looks yummy, right! I sure think so!)
After reading and watching videos about this new OS, I did get excited, but how would someone like me- A young, ambitious, unskilled developer-wannabe get a brand new OS working on our elderly, AOSP unsupported ARMv6 Optimus V?
The next best thing- something we already have; Android 4.0.4 aka Ice Cream Sandwich!
I spent the next week schmoozing through the internet for files related to 4.1-Apps, Wallpapers, ROMs, anything I can find.
I ended up with this- a half way attempt to get CM9 to look and function a bit like Jellybean! Welcome to Vanillabean! (Vanillabean= A mixture of Ice Cream [Ice Cream Sandwich with Vanilla Ice Cream] and Jellybeans!)
>Included<
>Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 BootAnimation
>Various Jellybean apps- Updated Gallery, Email, Calculator, Contacts, Market, etc. New apps: Currents, Google Ears, etc.
NOTE- Google Now (The new pretty search) is not included, I couldn't get it to work but I will try to have it by the next update!
>Themed Trebuchet, System UI, and Framework APKs by ANDROIDCUSTOMIZe on XDA-Developers. (I've had trouble decompiling/recompiling ICS's Framework-res.apk myself and could not edit them with as such. Ninjamorph editing sent me into a bootloop, also. As soon as I figure this out I'll add newer lockscreen and such bitmaps AND ill see if I can get the cool new Transition animations from Jellybean!)
>Updated Jellybean fonts
>Jellybean wallpapers! (All 12!)
>Bugs
>Nav bar in Lockscreen has no buttons until unlocked (or until the status bar is pulled down)
>Nav bar sometimes "cramps" screen as it takes up valuable screen real estate. Will try to disable it since we have working hard keys- Unless you guys want me to keep it in.
>Status bar text color is still cyan/blue, not gray. Working on it.
>Possibly more, please note any you find in the comments!!!
>Lockscreen handle when pressed is a bit small
>Have not really edited build.prop. WIll figure out and fix. NEXT UPDATE WILL HAVE AN UPDATED VERSION OF QUATTRIMUS. IF ENOUGH ASK FOR IT, I WILL MAKE AN AOKP VERSION!
Working
>Most things- Camera, Wifi, USB, 3G,
Not working
>Anything in Quattrimus.
Camcorder issues
Native Wifi Tethering, use Barnacle from Play Store
Full HW acceleration.
>Extras
If you want the Jellybean Keyboard with prediction, you can find it in the play store. Jellybean Keyboard!
Thank you to the following people!

sick looking ROM
Cannot send/receive texts
I tried this ROM and ran into one problem...I can't send or receive text messages, regular texts not picture messages.
Whenever i tried to send a text i get: Currently can't send your message. it will be sent when the service becomes available.
I am connected to 3G and can browse normally...any ideas what i could be missing?
So far i love this ROM, but the texting issue is keeping me away
You can resize the navbar, you have to decompile the framework-res.apk and the file is somewhere in the values folder I believe, if you want to completely disable it, go to the bools.xml file in the framework-res and look for a line that says something along the lines of hasnavbar or navagationbar and change the "true" value to false
I know this may seem like an odd question, but I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. Any way for an Android 2.X look on my SGS3? I am rooted running AOKP. If it all possible, something like the Galaxy S? Searched and couldn't find anything though. TIA!
Check out retrodroid for cm/aokp. I would donate for a theme like this for aosp and esp for tw
I will try to make one or as close to possible without losing TW goodness in ROMs like deTmobilized. Might be a fun project for me. Give me a few days at least. I will post up here and my theme thread once it is completed.
I am NOT on aokp so I won't make it for that, but if anyone is interested in it they can convert it for AOKP.

I'd switch ROMs to get an older look theme if I have to. Thanks very much if you do it.
Well I am gonna try. Since we are dealing with quite a bit more icons in the newer ROMs compared to froyo ROMs I am going to have to use some of the newer style icons and create my own as well. I will probably do a "lite" version at first, lite as in theming just the SystemUI.apk, Framework-res.apk, Lidroid.apk, and SecSettings.apk. Then I will go on to more of the apps to use some of froyo app icons as well.

Nope this is pulled directly from Samsung Galaxy S1 Captivate froyo firmware. Some things like the status bar is themed from the ROM I am using, and dies not pull from the framework-res. So I can easily switch the status bar color to match froyo. It is STILL a work in progress and I have lots to do still.

But this is what I was looking for. I'm going to use whatever you put out though.

Can I have whatever your smokin Haha j/k But my guess is it is just a leftover from googles icons that Samsung and probably HTC used. I know for sure that was pulled from a Samsung froyo firmware. I had to double check since like I said SOME icons are not even in the froyo firmware so I am either making my own to look like stock froyo or using some from the galaxy s3 stock firmware (which is easier since I don't have to resize so many icons). Like for instance with the icons for the togglesthe group firmware only has 6 different toggles and lidroid has 20 something? So lots of making my own and hope they look alright.
Froyo Style Toggles
Lidroid Toggles
I think I got them all. So that is my next changes to make them look like the froyo style toggles. Then I have already found some other things that may need changing (unless a BLACK status bar is uesd). So we will see how far I can make it to have it as close as possible.
Sent from My Spiderman Themed I747
So here are the toggles. They look okay? I had to remake them all as close as I could to the originals
Now to do the Phone and Contacts... Wish me luck...

Looking good!
dug around google for a bit and found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28933969&postcount=2
Okay The SecPhone and SecContacts are a pain in the arse to get themed the same as the original froyo look. I cannot get the top section themed the same since the newer android software uses a way different use of the buttons for Keypad, Logs, Favorites, Contacts, and Group. Also had to play with the background of the dialer since eather than using individual buttons (in a way ) it uses a whole background image where the buttons go. So I tried to make it as close as possible. Mms looks slightly different than stock and uses the bubbles from froyo (not much different than stock JB).
I have also made use of the Icon images used in froyo for the Phone, Contacts, Browser, and MMS as well. Themed the keyboard (SamsungIME and also a LatinIME/Google keyboard to a close blue color).
So I am close but it definetely is a mix of the froyo look combined with JB. Best I can do right now. So what do you all think?

Cool man...if you can make the old beach live wallpaper work that would be wicked.
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
Okay here is how it is looking so far. I may just put this one up. It is about as close to the Froyo look I can get with how JB is set up. It will be a VR THEME so it should work for any Samsung Based ROM.
I will see what I can do. I tried it a bit and got it to show in the widget menu but it force closes when I try to open it.
