after dropping incredible 1, loose piece, help me find where it belongs! - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

after dropping incredible 1, loose piece, help me find where it belongs!
you see the two pieces that were loose after my Incredible took a hard drop. It has taken many. I want to figure out where these pieces go, and if maybe something else is missing.
My upgrade date is soon, so please, no recommendations for getting a new whatever. I love my Incredible, its amazing it has survived so much wear and tear!
Whatever these are, they may be antenna related, as that is the function that doesnt...function. WiFi works, GPS, etc. just no cellular data connection. Any help is greatly appreciated. I've found a good youtube vid - Droid Incredible Disassembly by TechRestore and paused frames of it and looked back and forth, and just cant catch where these parts came from!
Many thanks in advance!

That looks like part of the USB jack. Don't know if you need it or not, but the USB plug may not fit tightly if it is not there.

Where did it drop? The guy above might be right, your metal is showing on the USB port. As for signal.. I haven't a clue, I suppose it could have been a hard enough knock to disconnect the signal?
Is the yellow plastic a scrap paper that came off the wires shown in the video, which by the way the video was actually pretty awesome.

Htc Universal - Snapped Connector - Can It Be fixed?

Hey everyone,
A While ago my usb connector snapped off (WOOHOO) not
I have taken a picture of it and am wondering if anyone thinks that a brand new connector could happily be placed in there, it was a really enjoyable phone and would hate to loose it

that looks workable. i could probably get a leg attached on the second land there and make it work. just find someone that knows surface mount soldering. the only questionable leg is the second from the right. could have been pulled up. take a better picture of that and repost if you can. even if it's gone though. there's still hope. make sure the four corners get a solid soldering. they are your primary anchors.

Hi, the same thing happened to me tonight. :/
although I don't I would have the knowledge of getting it back on.
I just paid them
Pocket Pc Techs and I will hopefully ship my phone out later today.
Can anyone give me any feedback on this company??
I can fix that for you if you need it sorting out, it wont be the first I done and I'm sure it will not be the last. PM me if you are interested.

Rear case imperfection?

Has anyone here noticed a slight hump on the rear case it location is central on the spine about 2 thirds of the way down. It is a above a recess on the inside of the case which accommodates the plastic retaining lug for the SIM card. Its very minor, I only noticed it when I was rubbing my finger over the case, I just wanted to check with other people to eliminate the possibility its a defect on mine.
Other than this its the best smart-phone I have ever used, well worth the wait as I am a Handtec customer.
Thanks for checking
Have it too, but it is really difficult to spot.
I cannot see it with my eyes, basically only feel and you have to be very careful to notice it even then.
I can't feel or see this if it is there.
only found it because you made me search for it
wish i didnt read this thread. now im going to look for it, find it, and be displeased by it.
Not on mine...
i noticed it the other day as well
it is there but I don`t care.

neither do I, as other people have said it very very minor.
It's a great handset I'm very happy with it and will be more happy when the official screen protectors are available.
if it wasn't there the cover would have to be a couple of mm thicker to accommodate the recess on the inside to clear the plastic lug. I think, on reflection, that this was a good idea on HTCs part.

nothing whatsoever here.
Maybe you have particularly fat SIM cards?

Major problem after screen replacement.

Ok here's the backstory.... The charging port broke loose of the mobo from my Inc so my buddy had a good working Inc with a cracked digitizer so I thought hey I'll just swap that out no big deal. Well did some research and watched some videos and tackled it. Everything went smoothly until after I put the battery in and fired it up...... Not good the screen comes on kind but it's this weird greenish color with 1 bright line at the very top of the screen. Now I've tried switching everything back and forth a few times and no go. Now I have two phones that don't work. Anyone else see this before?

Update,
Now I just turned it on again and the screen stays black. No more greenish screen.
So you took the screen off of yours and put it on your friends? Were they both the same screen type, ie amoled or slcd?
1. Look under the battery of both devices.
2. Below the bluetooth and FC icon you will see "ADR6300VW."
3. If you see a "3" at the end (ADR6300VW3) then it is SLCD. If you do not, then it is AMOLED.
Other than that mabey the ribbon wires got bent and broken, or mabey the wires are not pluged in just right.
Sorry I never responded to this post. I ended up picking up a rezound. They both were the amoled screens. They did look different from eachother when looking from the back side. I thought I was really gentle with the cables but maybe they are just way more fragile than I thought. I'm going to order a new screen and give it another shot. I just can't let my incredible go out like that!

[Q] No Bluetooth/Wifi after Charge board replacement

The charge port on my phone went bad and needed to be replaced. The replacement went smoothly but now it I have no bluetooth or wifi antenna. I get maybe 1 bar indicated if I am a few feet from a wifi hub and bluetooth isn't working at all. I thought it might be something to do with the new charge board so I replaced it again with the same results. If anything it might be even worse now. Any tips on what I should be looking for that is wrong?
Sounds like you broke one thing fixing another . If it's physical damage you need to go backwards and check all your steps and see what happened.
If software issue try reflashing modem.
Pp.
I found the problem and it, which is a simple one, The fix though I think is going to be difficult. A very, very small capacitor is missing from the board. I must have hit it during the charge board change. If I knew the value of the cap I could probably solder a new one on. I have no idea how to find that out though. Here is a picture of the missing part.

A lot of internet digging has turned up the spec on the missing cap-
Samsung part #2203-006665
0.0022NF,0.25PF,25V,C0G,0603, C-CER,CHIP
That particular number is out of stock everywhere but I was able to find an equivalent from DigiKey.com
Samsung #CL03C2R2BA3GNNC
Digi-Key #1276-1403-1-ND
I bought 10pcs @ 2 cents a piece.
Good luck with the soldering,
In case that doesn't work for you maybe this will work for you.
Pp. Lol
Soldered in the microscopic capacitor yesterday and phone is back to 100%!

Carlinkit CarPlay Ai Box disassembly?

Anyone ever open one of these up? Non-destructively, of course. With summer coming up I'd like to try to 3d print a new enclosure for it to improve heat dissipation and possibly pop some heatsinks on important bits. I'm assuming there are screws under the rubber pads on the bottom, but I don't have access to it right now and thought I'd see if anyone has opened one up before... Thanks!

As a follow up, small screw under each of the 4 pads on the bottom. Antennas are connected to top part of case via pogo pins.

Did you manage to creat 3d print to improve the cooling system? I have the same model EAU and i have big issue with overheating (91.8 °C was maximum) i have a lot of reboots... As someone answered above, the antennas are connected to the top cover using spring pins, so the back holds the front end in place to connect to the antennas. I was thinking that we could mount a 40mm fan on the back of the equipment, having a 3d printed case
