I have oxygen running. I can switch to anything you need me to though. Remember I have a cdma desire thanks!

It will allow you to run any app you can run on desktop Ubuntu, coming with a Chromium browser, Thunderbird email, Rhythmbox music player and Shotwell photo editor as standard. It will be compatible with any device running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or above, but unfortunately, you won’t just be able to simply download and install it yourself, since Ubuntu is currently liaising with mobile vendors and carriers to install the software at manufacturing stage.
Then again, all the Ubuntu code will be open-source as it always has been, so custom ROM makers congregated over at XDA-developers and the like should be able to add the OS in custom ROM releases.

Hi,
Preferably, I'm looking for a HTC Desire HD ROM or something that has the new HTC Sense on it with APP2SD functionality, It must be Clean Stock (meaning no customization) and must be Stable to use with no or little lag. The Android version should be 2.2 or above and OTA update be operational (not required).
I have stumbled upon some ROMS, that match my specifications, however I want to know your experience with it. Common Bugs, how is it for everyday use? blah blah etc...
- RCMixHD v0.15 1
- DHD Rom Port by baadnwz v1.7c
- ۵.AuraxTSense v8.2 HTC Sense 2.2
- ۵.ReflexTSenseHD v1.5.1 DHD port
- RCS Touch v06
I want to be able to flash a new rom without any fuss, but I do not believe this likely to happen.
Here are my device specs:
Code:
BRAVO PV1 SHIP-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-01d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
-Android 2.2
-T-MOBILE UK - Branded
-Not-Rooted
-4GB Micro SD Card (GoldCard)
Before any tells me to do my research and check the entire forums and says it all depends on your desire, well the whole point of the thread is to give me guidance on what to do next and then summarize your points and experience.
If any more information is require, please tell me so.
Thank you.
Little Bump. No one?
Root
Flash Baadnewz 1.7c
EOD
root read , read again , check the threads of the roms u want to try , download rom , instal and if you like keep it if not repeat from (Check)
regards
baadnewz has to be the quickest most lag free hd rom
Forget hd if you want zero lag just stick to standard Sense or aosp gingerbread.
I've tried Alex V HD which is very good but not zero lag and heard lots of good news about baadnewz.

its got a memory leak and is sluggish after time
First of all - root it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788044).
Second - S-Off (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=805811).
Need help? Search xda and google, google, google!
Then - READ ALOT about the different roms, apps/data2sd, recovery images etc etc and choose the one you like most. Search for youtube videos of the roms you like.
Pay attention - some roms work only with specific radio versions. Most roms require (or at least suggest) performing a full phone wipe (including davlik cache), so don't forget to backup EVERYTHING before you start (including contacts, sms, mms). AND NEVER EVER REBOOT / DISCONNECT CABLE WHEN FLASHING!

I was leaning towards this rom, good job you told me this.
Also, please guys, although I appreciate your guidance I am not new to flashing etc and do not want instructions on 'how to root, flash, S-OFF and S-ON'. If you read my question, all I want is your opinions/views on what ROM is good enough to meet my specifications as well as your experiences. I do not want to keep flashing my phone, that's another reason why this thread was created. And Please no 'SEARCH GOOGLE, XDA FORUMS', and choose what you like. I will research the ROM that I have narrowed down, helped suggested by you guys and then Check if it's good to go. I know some of you will find me arrogant, which is not the case.
Keep your suggestions coming in...
Thank you.
youve picked the roms you want to try , why dont you try them and find out for yourself.
and no i dont find you arrogant more lazy
I'd recommend Baadnwz. I found it to be one of the quickest!

Most of you guys are suggesting 'badnewz', tell me your experiences with it.
...Or shall I just flash a unbranded Stock ROM and Root and Partition the SD?
Thanks
EDIT: What do you guys think of this ROM 'Ginger Villain 0.8?
I was using gingervillian 0.8 for awhile and found it to be very good, however as only the nexus s is running gingerbread officially, I found there are some apps that I need that won't work.

Now I'm thinking of flashing to the standard HTC Stock ROM and ROOT+APP2SD...
I'd recommend teppic's stock ROM + updates. Why ? Because the author updates it regularely and has offered lots of optional addons, meaning the ROM is not a "try to please all so im stuffed with all imaginable crap" one.
i need a Stock Nexus S rom for my Desire HD as i am dam bored of this Sense and those lock screens.. more over any one can suggest me to use some launchers... but as i am need a stock ROM..
Use Android Rev HD with no-sense or no-sense++ script (HTC base 2.3.3 without sense).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040
or CyanogenMod rc-1 (google base 2.3.4)

This is an alright solution though i do not recommend the no sense script, it only removes certain apps and pieces of sense, not altogether... Cyanogenmod is one of my favorites, but the best rom i've ever ran (No longer fully supported, dev kept inspire but bought evo3d) is Gingerbeast on the inspire 4g forums, by Dilligaf, i definitely recommend it.
I stand by Cyanogenmod. Its stock with a steroid injection.

Thank u guys i just got Cynogenmod 7 installed on my Desire HD it works really well..
But i have another Request for you guys ... i have to use my home internet connection .. tht is internet pass through on my Cynogemod 7 could u plz find me a soloution which suits the best to the phone.. as i do not have a WIFI at home.. i use the internet pass through which helps me to download apps faster as i have a slow 2G network...
A $10 usb wifi dongle can be plugged into your computer and used as a makeshift gateway to share your connection via wifi.
Unfortunately I don't use Windows, only Linux so can't tell you how to set it up.
The internet passthru never worked on Linux so this is what I did to get around it.

I think you should change the name of your topic...
Vanilla is used in android when the build is from google source or cyanogen's source, this is known as an AOSP build... (=>No Sense)
What you want is a "stock" rom with root, right?
The most popular GB roms with sense is:
LeeDrOid HD, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056727
and
Android Revolution HD, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040
Which one to use is up to you...
Hey all, got my phone working again Been reading about gpu driver updates for phones. Wondering if there is anything available for the htc desire? (bravo)
Basically looking at things i can do to my phone. Kernels, roms, etc.
Currently running mildwild latest. Its a great rom
Please advise!
There's no newer drivers than what you have
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Hi,
Android is using the Linux kernel, so all drivers are built into it.
Hence only way to update drivers is to upgrade the ROM. I saw elsewhere they are aiting for the linux 3.x kernel to update some drivers. But I think its only the ICS ROMs that will use this kernel.
Could be the odd driver updated outside the kernel itself, and maybe the graphics is one of those. Either way, look for updated ROMs.
Mons
Well some drivers were made flashable from the GB leaked ruu ages ago, from HTC. they were the last desire drivers we got. Dont forget our chipset drivers are proprietory.
Yeah they're hacking the kernel and source to get the hardware on ics working, but this will never provide feasible driver updates

Hi,
I got my HTC One V from US Cellular unlocked, flashed Slim and MIUI however found neither of them are usable(just for testing and lack of smooth)
Could you please recommand a version of ROM? I know it has 512mb memory. Does anyone have a ROM based android 2.3 or 3.0? Could it work?
Thanks for any suggestions or replies.
By the way, I want to recover to the original rom but it froze at the the start-up HTC logo. Currently, it is working with MIUI V4.3 only.

I don't know of any developer that currently has US Cellular. Development is mostly for Virgin Mobile. And I believe only Curtis Slim Bean had a US Cellular version.

I'm a little late, but with S-ON you'll have to fastboot flash the boot.img......[echo]
Yes, currently I have to plug usb to reboot this cell phone.
