also it is .62 rom but -64 baseband no .64 not to try and be a know it all but to correct u for future questions
u can only root the .62 rom with unlocked bootloader and doomlord kernel i believe.
u cud downgrade using FLASHTOOL even with a locked bootloader as long as it is signed i believe. or so i have been told although tbh i dont think that works

Yes, you can.
Put your device in fastboot mode (1-poweroff 2-press the search button 3-plug in the USB)
BLUE light on you are in fastboot mode

take a look at Little Flashtool tutorial
try using fastboot.exe instead of fastboot inside flashtool. are you sure it is rooted? although I'm sure you don't need your phone to be rooted to flash anything.

anyone??
Hi. I read your posts, but it doesn't make much sense to me. Can you clarify the problem here in one post so I can help.
simply say...flashing the kernel via fastboot or flashtool is not working for me..it says my PLAY is not rooted even though it is rooted. thats the problem. i just cant seem to flash doomkernel.
btw i use jkkyyu enhanced firmware rooted and cwm installed.
You shouldn't need root to flash a kernel. Use the latest flashtool.

this is what it says when tried to flash doomkernel
64bit?
It could be driver related. Download usbdeview, unplug your phone and uninstall all drivers related to the phone and plug it in again.

Flashtool for xperia arc lt15i 2.3.4 .62

I notice that the flashtool 0.9.0.0-windows.exe is not working. Is there any other one that I could use to flash .42?

Root Sort of Fails

Hi,
So for the past 2 month, I've been trying to root my r800at, but it installs superusers but it doesn't function. I can't remove the semi root, but I need to get a root. I've tried the superuser fixer, but it says everything is normal. The Root Checker app says no root and so does ROM Manager, which in this case is a dire app.
PLS HELP!
Pls don't keep creating new thread. U already got a few. So just wait or google ur answer. U're gonna piss off the mod if u keep this up. Meh...
Regards,
Sdojoin
Stating which fw you are running would be helpful.
But seriously, search.

It doesn't let me. Every time I check for updates it says none
Flash a 2.3.4 ftf through flash tools
Yeah att is stuck on 2.3.3. Fw 285 which is not rootable.
U need flashtool and 2.3.4. Fw preferably 42 or 58.
62 and 69 are not rootable yet (except of course for unlocked bootloaders that can flash a custom kernel.)

Do you have the xperia play drivers installed for flashtool to recognize your play? I think your installing the wrong ftf file. There are multiple ftf files for r800x, r800at, r800i, r800a and yes they are all different but not interchangable. You have to find the right one.

There is no 2.3.4 R800at ftf. R800a and r800i will work for u. Not r800x.
Captain67 has a thread in development with a bunch of ftf. Just search for it.
EDIT: remember to update flashtool.
Latest version is 9.8 I think?
If all else fails, consider visiting wotan server. They'll flash your phone for like €2.
