ease help me. I just rooted my phone in the morning using cyanogenmon mod. I decided to download fonts but one of the fonts was an apk. So on my computer I click properties and changed it from .apk to .ttf then I put the file on my phone. I used Font installer(root) and selected the font, it told me it had to restart my device so I let it. It's been stuff on the Samsung Galaxy s2 screen
Why would you change a apk file to a ttf?? You do realize the apk file was/is an installation file for that specific font. You def. corrupted something. Restore back if you did a nandroid nackup, otherwise boot into recovery and do a clean reflash of whatever rom your on..

Apk is application file which cant be converted into font file. If you need some fonts you have to find ttf files.

APK stands for Android package I believe. The font was packaged into the apk file, all you had to do was install the .apk file and then select your font in display settings. Your phone is stuck because it can't find a font to display, you are stuck unless you pull all font files and push new ones or install the ROM all over again.

Hello there,
I found an easy way to change the icons of system apps[msg,music...etc] for ppl who don't know to use ADB
1.Now your ace should be rooted...install root explorer or any file browser that can copy the .apk from system/app.Eg..ive copied the music.apk to sd card.
2.now transfer it to your PC and replace the icon.png in drawable mdpi with your own file using winrar..[Every apk has a diffrent name for the icon..for some it will be ic_launcher..etc],so check it and replace
4.now place the edited .apk in the app folder in the zip file i've attached, move it to your sd card[don't put in any folder]and flash in recovery...
I think most of the people know of this site?
Even I got in touch with it on the first day of visiting SGA forums.
but you cant change the icons in app drawer using uot..you can do that by following my steps......
Oh, had no idea. Was just generally talking about the site, i installed Go launcher on the first day so i havent got in touch with TW xD

Ok themers, I tried to do this myself but I really wasn't as simple as I thought but then again it never is lol. I have audio manager pro and I got the flat white skin for the widget here:
https://market.android.com/details?...mF1ZGlvd2lkZ2V0cHJvLnRoZW1lcy5mbGF0d2hpdGUiXQ..
What I tried to do was change the color to ICS blue with plain old photoshop but my modified apk was unsigned so if anybody can take this skin and replace the white images and text with ICS blue from this example I would be most thankful
Cool hope it happens.
don't extract the apk/zip file just open it using winrar the files your moving should also be compressed in a zip this way you don't have to mess around with resigning apk files.
if the images are .png9 that's a different story
Yes that's what I did but I still got the message. I'll try again!
If it doesnt install regularly move it to system/app with root explorer and reboot

Use apk_manager - put the apk in "place-app-here-for-signing" run the script and sign it. You shouldnt have a problem.
Not sure if this is in the right forum, but I just heard about ROM Toolbox and wanted to try it on my GNex. I installed a new boot animation, but when I rebooted my phone, it doesn't show the installed animation. All it shows is the android text with a light flashing behind it. Any help with this? Was going to buy the paid version once my Nexus 7 arrives, but I guess I'm not sure how to properly set the boot animation.
ROM Toolbox Pro gerfungled my boot animations on both of my phones, Galaxy Nexus and an LG myTouch Q. Just erases the old one and doesn't install a replacement. Also be careful using the font installer, since it's set to overwrite your three main system fonts by default when you install a font. Also, most boot animation changer programs don't work on Samsung phones.
If you like a boot animation that Rom Toolbox shows you, just let it download. Then copy it from /sdcard/romtoolbox/boot_animations to /data/local and rename it "bootanimation.zip". Should work on next boot. Your original gnex boot animation is also in there, named backup(something).zip. You can also extract /system/media/bootanimation.zip from any zipped gnex rom file and do the same.

Worked perfectly that way! I downloaded it and moved it to /system/media, renamed the default boot to "bootanimation.bak". Fixed permissions and rebooted.
As for fonts, I'm not getting into that. I love having access to three apps in one!

I have tried replacing my bootanimation.zip file with other ones DL'd from the internet with no success. Is there a file size limit?

Have you changed the permissions accordingly? It won't work if the zip doesn't have the right permissions (rw-r-r).

Hi Guys,
I try to use ZipThemer to change my softkeys, but can't manage to make it work. When i create a update.zip for the desired softkeys it works, but when i flash them nothing has changed. Currently I am on ParanoidDroid Rom (4.1.2) and love it.
Can someone help me or does someone know what i'm doing wrong?
On PA are you in tablet UI mode? If so it won't work because when in tablet mode it pulls from the folder drawable-sw600dp-xhdpi however most zipthemer softkeys only replace the ones in drawable-xhdpi. If you put the original zip on your computer in the zip extract /res/drawable-xhdpi rename it to the previously mentioned folder put it back into the same directory of the archive. And then redo the zipthemer update and you should be golden.

Hello everyone, I am having trouble installing font themes on my Huawei phone. I use ifont and I select huawei mode, the theme appears in the app themes and I select the font because the theme has the font name. I reboot and the theme is applied but after a couple of hours the font becomes gibberish and I have to reboot. When I reboot the phone reverts to the original font. Even if there is no problem and I turn off the phone, when I restart it the original font is there instead of the new theme font.
I have also tried putting the hwt files in the hwthemes folder but when I do these themes do not appear in the theme app so I cannot select them.
I really hate the fonts that came with the phone and would really love to find a permanent way to change the font.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Is your phone rooted? I think the most stable way of installing fonts is rooting the device and using font-replacing apps that needs root permission
you can use other software that changes fonts, i used on some samsung galaxy s a software called Font Installer, the phone was rooted, heres the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer remember you must be rooted, i havent tested it on my p6... so do some backup, and donwload the rom you are using now on your sd card on a folder called dload, so if you get boot loop you can reapair it faster.
