Force GPU rendering doesn't stick - HTC One X

I noticed the "Force GPU rendering" doesn't stick, doesn't stay checked.
I think the phone will be a lot more more efficient and smoother on animation and some things when gpu rendering is enabled, noticed that on my Sony Arc running ICS beta.
Unfortunately here with One X, the GPU rendering settings doesn't stick.
Does anybody having the same issue?

jup, got the same problem, once unchecked it stays unchecked.

So there is an option within the settings to force gpu rendering?

Same problem..
I've noticed my new One X uses software rendering in many apps. My Sensation with custom rom seemed faster. The Force GPU option does unfortunately not stick..

Force GPU rendering only works on apps that haven't been updated to enable it anyways.

Still doesnt work though

these phones uses the same processor but on different frequencies.
so my question is: is it safe to use daily the cpu at 1.5ghz of DHD ?
Yes, it is safe to use it. My Desire HD runs on a 1,6GHz processor
i'm running the default settings of the Android Revolution HD ROM
Well mine runs at 1.2GHz no swear, but be honest, what is to gain by further overclocking?
If you have 0 lag etc I prefer to have a stable phone than a phone which might not be available or hangs.
linkings dont work

how's your battery life running at that speed?
I use CM7.1 and LordModUE kernel and run my phone at 1689MHz. Battery ain't good but still better than when it was running the stock ROM. It can get pretty warm too...
Here are some benchmark scores to help convince you that it's worth it.

Its automatically disabled during low cpu loads. It will re enable on its own when you start using it. Start tapping around and you'll notice it come online

It's not disabled it's just temp offline...if you are rooted the go to boot settings from system tuner and put force all cpus online then your phone will show both working at all times

thanks. it worked.

Is 9950 really a good antutu score?

On PAC rom with Nova kernel running 1.7ghz and yes it seems like a good impressive score for the phone.
But... Why does my Chinese tablet ( cube U30GT) score ridiculously higher @ 1.6GHz. Both are on JB 4.1
The cube gets -

You're scores are what you get under best circumstances. Try running your phone all day using it as you normally would then run a test. You're score wont be that high I'm sure, what you get while doing your daily tasks is what really matters because in the end that's your typical situation, not all apps closed data off brightness low cpu ocs and gpu ocs set to full

My guess is that AnTuTu sucks, so use Quadrant...
AnTuTu gave my old Archos 10000 and my Xperia S about 8000, while Quadrant measures precisely and, most important, it measures the stuff that really matters WITHOUT crashing...

HTC One VX with defective GPU??

Hello people over at XDA, I have recently purchased an HTC One VX (Used) and noticed that there is a slight problem with the GPU (Adreno 305).
The phone has problems scaling or just rendering of some objects like images, menus, and even some polygons. It is quite livable most of the time but it bugs e when apps like Chrome start spazzing out by flickering random surface polygons. The phone runs at a amazing pace, mostly when overclocked, but the experience is a bit thrown off for me.
Is there anything that I can virtually or physically do to fix this? (Please note: There is no warranty on this product.)

Haven't seen that before on this model. Does it happen without the overclock? I'm asking cause your mentioned it.

Yes it has the same problem when not overclocked, in fact it had the problem when I bought it and before it was rooted.
I just removed the locked bootloader and rooted it to make it much faster and to try to find some tweaks to fix this.

Why*, and it might be because you have battery saver mode on. Disable it and run the benchmark again. If its still low and you're on a custom ROM, the developer might have removed the automatic speed boost when running useless benchmark apps.
Does it even matter in the end?

I'm on a custom Rom and the feature HTC uses during benchmarks is useless. I went into trickster and all it does is pretty much run in performance mode which you can do yourself. And of code who wouldn't get a high score on performance? I agree benchmarks are useless.
