I have installed some of themes on s8530 firmware XXLA1, execept normally themes there are also some flash themes, anyway all these themes are installed via Stune.
The main problem occurs when I install famous theme Gorilla, when I aplly theme cellphone sudenly shutdown by self.
Theme only working when I delete all themes and Install only gorilla theme.
I can't install themes on memory card by drag and drop in themes folder, always saying file not support.
f u c k I am totally dissapoint. what should i do, any solution???
Best Regards !!!
Several times we tried to talk about DCF Encryption...
Anyway.
Only yesterday I have realized that you can access settings of Gorilla theme and put Photo/Picture as Face...
Maybe I'll post later Screenshot.
Best Regards
Put the not "official" themes at folder "AppEx/Sys/Theme" (NOT "AppEx/User/Theme/Download") using STune. These themes will be system themes and can not delete them using the phone, but ...
you can install any theme you want.
I only like lockscreen of gorilla theme, it's funny thing with banana, but icons are awful. TOO BAD there is no way to make own theme with lockscreen of this theme
beacuse you can't extract lockscreen from DCF file
This looks funny. To insert Photo.
Best Regards
Hello I'm new to android. This is my first smartphone.
I had an ipod touch before , but that wasn't as confusing and complex as android is to jailbrake or install themes. Android overall is a very confusing system. It was very easy to theme and jailbrake my ipod touch.
I have been googling this question for some time and im still confused
My questions are:
How do install android theme?
Do all themes work for all phones?
Do you need a program to install themes (go launcher ex? what is that?)
And lastly are themes made for specific roms/phones.
Thanks.

Themes will be in a cwm flashable zip that you put on your sdcarx and flash in recovery.
Themes are very specific to the phone and rom that you are using. Sometimes I theme designed for one rom can work on another rom but that's certainly not guaranteed. Themes from a different phone will never work.
As I mentioned above, you don't need a specific program to install themes you just need to be rooted, which will install cwm on your phone.
You can find themes in the themes and apps section of this forum.

I just installed this amazing and fast rom :cm7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569895
And installed the Mate theme for ADW, so your saying that i don't need any launcher like ADWlauncher to install a theme? What the difference?
By the way the themes that come in .zip are complete?
Okay there's themes for the whole rom and themes for just the launcher. Themes for the launcher are found in the market and are only compatible with that launcher. Those will only affect your icons and app drawer. Themes for the rom affect your menus, status bar, etc. Now cm7 handles themes a bit differently. Cm7 themes are also found in the market (search for cyanogenmod themes). Once you download and install a theme you want, go to your app drawer and open theme chooser then pick the theme you downloaded and then reboot. No need to use recovery for cm7 themes.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense now
1 more question:
Do the zip themes that you need to flash in recovery don't use extra ram?
Example go launcher or adw launcher run on top of the system, while zip themes patch the system files so there is no extra service running. Is this true?

That is correct. All they do is replace the images with new themed images. No extra services running.

About this thread of sir HCFROYD. The chobits have go launcher (the default launcher) right? So what did he do to make go launcher not active in active applications?
And im asking what if i flashed this
Chobits Go Launcher EX for all densities, (will replace current launcher as default) just reflash to switch to other Launcher.
*the most stable version of Go Launcher EX (skinned) that supports all lcd densities.

on my stock rom , will it make my default launcher change to go launcher and make that home launcher permanently as my default launcher??
Im on stock rom dxlc1 thanks for your answers.
upppppppppppppppp
That is only for ChobitsDigitalis ROM nd not stock rom,
You can simply install any launcher nd set it as default on stock.
After installing, press home button nd u'll get the option to set it as default..
Else go to manage applications and clear default for any other launcher u ate using now.
P. S. You can post such qns in the faq thread ;-)

What the guy said above will work.
Or if you dont want to set default, open the launcher that you just newly installed. Then minimize it and uninstall your current default launcher. The new launcher will be set to your default.
Guys how to change the system font color on GB ? Its white you know..
I
Before you ask a question like this search around on XDA...
-You will need a rooted phone (to access all admin restrictions)
an then edit something, you might aswell install a custom theme using ADW launcher.
So I was wondering how do you change themes. I checked the themes section and a lot of them said I need a theme chooser but I dunno what that is. I am using android me cm10. Links n instructions would be awesome
If your rom has theme chooser, you will see a "Themes" menu in the phone settings.
Download a theme apk, go to the themes menu, select what you want and press "apply". Reboot after changing themes.
