Did it fell on the ground?
If so the lens is stuck
From my sexy LT15i

Maybe you have full focus mode active or landscape scene selected? Try 3rd party apps also.

yes lens stuck ,
now focus function is working good as before.

How do u fix that the stuck lens? Mine galaxy s has the same problem when i drop it

Try hitting it gently, to the right direction. My sis had a stuck because it felld on the ground, then she missed it again and it was working
From my sexy LT15i

okay. let me try... has been hitting gently.. repeatedly lol

Did it work?
I have a similar problem with Galaxy S after dropping. Not sticking, but not focusing properly past a meter or so. Did gently bashing it work?

[Q] Xperia Arc s Camera and Loudspeaker problem

Hi community,
Since there was a ... car accident, my xperia arc s phone was damaged badly, firstly the whole display got was broken ive found a display and fixed it, but then i realized that there were two other problems with the phone one was broken lens of the camera and the loudspeaker problem which buzzes at higher volume rates
I tried to tell the camera experts but theyve told that the phone camera lens can't or though they cant replace the lens itself, and loudspeaker i didnt try to get it fixed yet
So i dont know what to do now ((
Ur speaker wont be that much of an issue. U can get it repaired but finding a new camera lens? Thats gonna be a problem. U can ask Sony abt it but they will charge a lot for it.

yeah I hope there will be spare part for camera lens might impossible to find though

New and interesting problems

So, I got an Xperia Play a few months ago on eBay, and everything was fine with it. But last month, my front camera started acting funny. It started showing the image in neon green, and then later stopped working in general. It would say "Couldn't access camera" or something like that. Then, a little later, my earpiece stopped working in calls. I would have to switch to speakerphone or plug in headphones to be able to hear anybody. Then, a little later, my backlight started acting funny. It would turn off sometimes, so I could see what was on screen, but not be able to interact with it. Putting it into sleep mode and back out would fix it. But soon, I had trouble pulling it out of sleep mode. I'd have to press the button like 50 times (not an exaggeration, toward the end) Then a little later, I had trouble turning the phone on at all. It would turn on, go the Sony Ericsson screen, sit for about 5 seconds, then the backlight would shut off, and it would stop doing anything. Now, 99 times out of a hundred, the phone won't boot, and if it does, I can't let it go to sleep, or I can't pull it out of sleep.
I couldn't think of any problem that could cause all of these problems. I tried reflashing the firmware, but that didn't fix the problem. Does anybody have any idea? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

When you get it to turn on use flashtool and flash a stock ftf file
I did flash stock firmware. It's still not working... I have a bad feeling it's a hardware problem.

Those same things were happening to my old xperia play which i dropped in water...
Hm... Well, I dunno, if anybody has any other ideas, please let me know. I don't think I ever had a situation where I could have exposed the phone to water
Green tint on the camera means hardware problem. Had those problems with the old K810 Cybershot phones.
Well, anyone know specifically what KIND of hardware problem it would be? I might try to fix the phone if it's not too expensive.
I will probably send it to repair servoce of Sony, my phone is still in warranty (relock bloader )..

Hm... Well, I'm too poor to send the phone to Sony. I could probably buy a replacement part and do it myself, but that's only if I know what part I need. If not, I may just have to put this on the back burner for a while.

Did you unlock your phone by official method

The green tint on the FF cam for me usually gets fixed by a wiping the cam. >.<
I did not unlock my phone. I wanted to, but I wasn't able to
the front cam failure and failure of the earpiece were 2 of the faults that I had as a result of a defective flex cable which was repaired by vodafone under warranty. as it happens, the flex cable on my phone has failed again and has again been sent away for another flex cable replacement
hope this helps

Front facing Camera fails

hey guys
since yesterday, my nt's front camera fails in original camera app and all third partys apps.

@Bakisha
hi.
just wanted to chck with you again.. I got a weird problem again.
My phones back camera was not working. giving errors. my friend had a Xperia Play for parts.
I removed that Camera Module and replaced with mine. It started working fine. Cool. I Tried to switch on the Phone while holding the Battery by hand against the Board so I don't close the phone and then see what happened (Worked or not) but it was working so I though success.
I closed the housing of the phone !! Damn phone starts but Black Screen !! Vibrates but black screen !
I kept fiddling and though the flex had gone but no.
I re opened the phones removed the Camera Module.. and Their it starts working again!! I close the phone so I can use it without camera and Boom .. it doesn't work again .. RED Led Blinking !! Phone not recognized by Windows !!
where did I go wrong
PS I had replaced the Flex Cable a few months back and My Phone WAS PERFECTLY working until I opened to Replace The Camera Module !!

Hmmm. i would guess flex cable again, but red blinking could also mean problem with battery (or maybe even flex is even short-curcuit it somewhere)
Do you have some old broken flex that you know that it have working screen? And try with/without camera module
Or try with assembled (closed) part where is screen but keep motherboard part unclosed and try to power up
Just a tip: If you have black screen (and it vibrates ones when powering up) try again to power up but in fastbott or flash mode. If it enter in fastboot mode, but still it give you black screen, then it means that motherboard is working but does not have connections to display
Try to check battery voltage somehow. It must have above 3.2V to be able to charge it.

I thought to update you on this.
my friend had a spare xperia play so I thought to make use of it but its flex cable had problem and screen was Fuzzy and Snowy when switched on.
I believe my flex cable doesn't have problem ,, its the Connector where the Flex cable connects to the Motherboard. I am using my own mobiles "LCD and Digiter portion and his Mobiles motherboard portion" and everything works fine.
but when I connect my mobile to his Flex cable and motherboard portion it doesn't work at all.. same Purple Light when the Kernel boots but nothing on the screen. any suggestions how to fix the motherboard connector or maybe a hardbrick !

No way. I had this same issue, it's a hardware failure, unfortunately. Only way is to replace the camera module or the whole phone. Fortunately mine had the warranty yet, so I've got a replacement phone.

I expect that response..
but as u can see in my second link, there had someone sucess with disabling that feature..
i mean, the OIS ist not really broken, it looks like its out of calibration. so maybe theres a possibility to turn it off or to calibrate it again?..

The OIS is simply a 2-axis gyroscope and actuator built into the camera module. The camera module is a stand-alone subsystem with it's own firmware independent of the OS. These are typically robust from a firmware perspective and have self-calibration routines upon power up, so if rebooting your phone doesn't solve the issue, it's likely not a calibration problem.
Based on your reported symptoms, it sounds more the like the focus sensor has malfunctioned and it keeps snapping around to find the focal point. I suppose it's possible it's a broken gyro or actuator (both are MEMS devices and relatively fragile) but the simple troubleshooting I would recommend is to make sure the camera lens is clean and that there is no dust or moisture underneath. If that doesn't work, I would do a factory reset to make sure there isn't a rogue camera app running on your phone. If all that fails, it's likely an unrecoverable hardware fault.

I already did a full factory reset.. didnt help so far And the lens looks clean so far..
When i just shake the phone a bit for a while it gets a focused pic. (the gyro stops making these noisy sounds..)
But isnt there maybe a way, like in my first link to edit the build to prevent the gyro from starting?
I just try out if this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-jitterygyrofixforcardboard-t3202149) supposed to help

If shaking temporarily gets it working again, than it is likely the actuator has debris in it that's causing it to jam. Being a MEMS device, it's prone to little pieces of the silicon chipping off which in turn get stuck in the actuation motor. I have some familiarity with the InvenSense gyroscope in the Fire phone, and while it has it's own quality issues, I never saw failures that resulted in the symptoms you are seeing.
Unfortunately, there aren't any consumer available tools I'm aware of to turn off the OIS portion of the camera module.
Edit: Forgot to mention, the UX gyro is completely separate from the OIS gyro. Two totally different chips. Turning off the UX gyro won't help your issue.
Just wanted to share this video with my issue: https://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/637735-camera-keeps-shaking-hardware-fault.html
Just to share my results.. there is a fix. Just put a little stripe of neodym magnet next to the lens and the gyro stops moving..
thats the cheapest solution tho
