is it possible to use simple mobile on the incredible 2? i know it has a sim card but i am not sure. If i can what steps do i need to take in order to do so. Thanks
You would need to either contact Verizon's global team and have them provide you with the unlock code or you could purchase an unlock code from eBay.

Once you unlock the SIM it should work. I unlocked mine and have been able to use the straight talk Nokia SIM that I had. It works except I don't get 3G connection. EDGE only. Otherwise it works fine. Will come in handy whenever I travel to Mexico next month.

Do I need to be rooted? Can I have 3g still on another network ? I tried to search and only found issues regarding out of country sim card issues

I read someone had luck using it on AT&T. This was only after using an XTC clip, though.
I think I read it in the group XTC clip but thread

I just called Verizon and ask for the similar unlock code.

from what i've read about verizon's 3G bands, you won't be able to use any verizon phone on 3G networks of other carriers, unlocked or not - only EDGE.
hello,
i have my unlock code from T mobile for my galaxy s3 T999 us version.but they tell me i need to insert a non t mobile Sim and then type my code when it tells me to.problem is i don't have a non t mobile Sim.is there any other way to type the code?

Step 2 - We've got our code, time to enter it. To do this, we either boot up our phone with our AT&T micro SIM or dial "#7465625*638*# in the Phone app. Once you have the dialog box, enter in the unlock code from step 1.

you just go on tmobile .com and do a live chat and request your code.they will ask you for the phone number, model number, and imei number. then ask for a email then they put a request in and within a day you get a email with the code.

I am sure you have friends that have ATT? OR go to a store or WallyWorld and ask if you could get a att sim.
Or.. if you ask REALLY nice in the Wanted section. I am sure there is someone who downgraded to iPHAIL5 that has a spare micro sim. Since the new iPHAIL uses nano sim.

i would rather use an Att sim.where i am in jersey att seems to have better reception.will my t mobile s3 work with the st Att Sim?
If you entered the code your probably unlocked. I would get the same response. Get a friends att sim card and put it in your phone to see if it works. That is how I tested mine. And it worked flawless.

I've went through hours of research and to no avail feel as thought I've gotten nowhere.
I bought this phone used, with what looks to be from an AT&T carrier previously (based on start up screen). Did not come with original SIM card. I want to be able to use StraightTalk services with it, and have already bought the SIM and is on its way to my house. I also want the ability to uninstall the factory installed apps that AT&T locked onto the phone.
From what I was informed, getting the calls and texts from StraightTalk onto the phone will be a simple task. Using StraightTalks 3G internet however wont work. That's were the unlocking comes in. Unlocking will also let me uninstall those factory apps as well I hope?
Would greatly appreciate any help I could get on this topic and hope that maybe this will help any future views with the issue.
Thank you!!!
No need to unlock. Your data will work fine as long as you adjust apn. To rid your phone of bloatware however you will be required to root. Not unlock.. The iphones are a little different story, but you don't have that so don't worry about it

Excellent! Will the APN change take place during the StraightTalk transfer when I put in the new SIM card? Manually, Automatically?
Also, rooting could be potentially dangerous based on what I read. Are There any good guides on this?

APN change takes place once the StraightTalk SIM has arived. Details are suppose to be provided within shippment.
What I don't understand is, once I put the AT&T Compatible SIM into my phone and transfer my number over, without unlocking the device this is, will the service be provided over AT&T towers?

No, you will have to go into settings, mobile networks, and search when the new sim card is placed in the phone.
Rooting is not dangerous, installing things on the phone that aren't made for it or installing apps from non trusted sources are dangerous.

As long as it is ATT and not TMO sim it will use ATT towers to deliver service to the phone.
like the old apps that calculated the unlock code for you?
Yes but not the way u require

Why not tell your carrier that you are going overseas and want to use your phone and ask them to unlock it I did and T-Mobile sent me the code for my phone at no charge. My problem is coming up with a non-tmobile sim card.
thanks but i tried that a while back. no such options for me

i think o2 won't do it for a while
I got my unlock code directly from AT&T. I do not have another carrier sim card to place in the phone (that will fit, this is a smaller than standard size sim card). There are people in my office that have T-mobile, sprint, or Virgin but have full size sim cards.
Any suggestions or instructions??
Thanks!!
I've heard about a few people going into t mobile and asking to borrow one. They shouldnt mind they are probably thinking you'll use on tmob after unlocking

I'm wondering - would a SIM from an AT&T MVNO (such as RedPocket) be considered a "non AT&T SIM card" for purposes of unlocking?
I just bought an "H20 Wireless" micro sim card on Ebay for .99.
Hopefully it will do the trick...will post an update (if anyone cares) if it does or doesn't work when I receive it.
Why don't you just store the code and use it when you get any non att sim? I mean, why waste money, even a $, unless well you have a willing non att friend who can lend you his sim.

Got it. I didn't think of selling phone. I was thinking on my lines given that I am a frequent traveler, and get code from AT&T within 90 days or earlier of getting a new phone.
OK. so i put the H2O sim card in and reboted several times and all I get is "sim card not provisioned".
So I just borrowed a Verizon sim card from someone in the office that has a Verizon Galaxy S III and got the same thing.
I am not being prompted for an unlock code?
What Am I doing wrong???
