It's a market app so either its a known issue so read comments in market or email developer as I found him extremely friendly and responsive or you're doing something wrong. But we can't even begin helping you till there is more info...

Have been using this for a few weeks now. Absolute life-saver. Because of it I purchased a 32gb card. Before I didn't think it was possible to move data to external card until I googled it.

I just love the option in latest versions that allows 2 aditional apps that are not in gameloft or android folder but are huge in size to be moved as well. Third party maps for example.

Yeah! Definitely love that too. I've used one so far for Deadspace (EA).
I also noticed that I can move Sygic and Navigon data to the external card without having to use the app. They seem to find the data on their own.

Yeah those 2 maps are fine but currently still testing one month free of route 66 and it's on builtin card.

I don't have market access. Do u have other download links like mediafire.or something?thx
After I have moved the data to ExternalSD, the app asks me to download the data again.
Is there a way? I've tried Link2SD, Apps2SD and Titanium Backup and nothing works. I have games like Most Wanted and Modern Combat and take up 3GB already.

This has been asked a lot of times, so people won't rush to answer your question. I feel your frustration, however. Most people will suggest you just root as the be all to end all. But some people don't want to do that or don't really have the know how. At any rate, another argument is the internal memory is more than enough. Yeah, for people who just play basic games on their phones, and nothing more. For me... I am literally down to about 400MB of internal memory. I have REAL games installed on my phone, that take up GBs of memory, not mere MBs. I, too, have Need For Speed Most Wanted, in addition to GTA III, Asphalt 7, and a few other games that all take up over 1 gig of memory. I bought this 64GB memory, thinking I wasn't going to have anything to worry about, only to find out Samsung found another way to screw us over. It's like AT&T and Samsung have been working hand-in-hand to find ways to limit us. My card is basically useless. I use it for all the movies, songs, and TV programs I have... but I mostly got it for storing my apps.

I see, I appreciate you replying. Sorry for this thread but I do have one more question, about Titanium Backup. I want to make my micro sd the backup location but it isn't letting me. I'm copying the backups via My Files from internal to external. Will it work if I delete the original?

Again, sorry I can't be of more help. I haven't used Titanium Backup since around 2010 or so. I haven't rooted a phone since. I don't remember much about how the apps functions. Don't give up. People will respond to you, they just won't be too quick.

I don't know any way to get around this stuff without rooting... I'm using Directory Bind to move gameloft and EA games along with the cloudcache from the dropbox app. I couldn't get much of anything else running the way I wanted...
I move lots of big files to sd using directory bind. It has been working good for me.

I used ES File Explorer to create a folder on my SD card for this purpose and than selected it as the backup folder.

I know you can copy the backup file to your ex. SD card. You might get an error "checksum missmatch" when you restore it from the phone recovery. I know it will work when you flash it with oden. When you make the recovery. It stores it as a xxxxxx.md5: xxxxx.tar :xxxxximg files
Personally. I would copy the original file to your computer incase you need to restore it later via Odin.

I found this script that turns your extSD card into your internal and vice versa. The script can be set to run on boot and so far for me it seems to be working with no apparent problems!
I'd post my screen shot and link to the video but rules about new members wont allow me.
youtube.com/watch?v=QUF7R0mmk00
seems a lot of people have errors that come up after a while about the scripting method
Ya, I heard about people having issues but so far I haven't had many. .. other than using ROM toolbox to run the script at boot because s manager would not run it at boot and you would have to run manually, which wasn't bad but I like not to have to think about it. Also, I haven't gotten close to filling up the 16gb which is also where I guess people have issues.

I'm not an expert (nor am I affiliated in any way with the developer) and YMMV, but I've had great success using the app GL to SD (available in the Play Store) to move game files onto the external SD card. To name just a few I have NOVA 3, Jet Set Radio, NFS Most Wanted, GTA Vice City, FIFA 12 on my Note 2 (16GB) and my internal storage sits at 2.68GB's. Before I rooted my phone with all the apps I had I didn't have room for the games I wanted, but now I have all the apps I want and space to spare.

This works - thanks dude! Finds all internal sd data and move to external sd. But you have to ensure the correct folder paths are set first and then use the menu options. Transfers one game at a time (even though it seems allow you to select multiple at one - tick only one each time). Also free on google play store

Aw nuts. I got my hopes up. It's only for GameLoft games (hence the GL I guess). I was hoping to move TTS and GPS offline maps and such.

Nope - if u go to settings and move to sd it will show data that can be moved - most are game data though. (also allowed me to move google earth and ebooks to sd too)
It says it's only for Gameloft games but to me it "seems" to move data from other games and programs as well. If one of the more expert members of the board could try out the program and say what's actually happening that would be great. Because based on what I can see the program does more than just address data from Gameloft games.

hey all, i have been using link2sd on my previous phones such as lg optimus one, xperia mini pro and so on and they have really quite low internal memory (400mb and below) and i have been using link2sd all the time to link all my desired apps and games to sd card.
and i know xperia s has an internal memory of 32gb so does it need link2sd for apps and games or 32gb are more than enough to put all our 100 apps and games (for example) ?
im not quite sure how a phone without memory card works such as xperia s who has 32gb internal storage, i mean, does the 32gb storage are all for apps and games??
im gonna buy xperia s later and i really want to know
U dnt need link2sd...
The 32 gb is partitioned as
2Gb- internal memory (same as internal memory of other cells, u can only store apps in it, not media)
26 Gb- sd card memory( same as external memory card, u can store media as well as apps)
1 Gb- data ( only for rooted users, system application are stored in it)
Rest memory is unudable in any way.
Press thanks!!

so your saying 2gb for apps is enough?
the problem is, some apps cant be moved to sdcard. so im just afraid that 2gb will not be enough for the apps and games that i installed that cant be moved to sd.
anyway thanks. xperia s doesnt need to create a second partition for link2sd then
Hello,
I think it's dangerous to use link2sd on this phone (No sd slot). I use it on a HTC HD2 and i'ts very cool because it have slow memory and a sd memory, but not on a XPERIA S. I use big game on XPERIA (GTA III - GTA vice City..) and you can move most of the apps on the "sd memory" (26 go). i have more than a hundred app and 800 mo on the 2 go use in the internal memory
Sorry for my bad English
I have never moved a single app to the sd storage on my Xperia s and I have about 90 apps without system apps.
And some are large games like GTA.
Gesendet von meinem LT26i
2gb is more thn enough!!
Moreover data for games and apps tat can b moved are stored in sd memory..
In short u can easily store around 130apps...
I guess u dnt need more thn that

Link to internal storage
Hi all, Its now am reading this thread. Infact am using switchme app. Thats why am searching for a way to link my apps to internal storage.
Thanks...
No, no need
People above are right. You have 2 GB to install apps and all stuff related with system.
So you don't need link2sd.
When I use switch me. I can get several profiles. But the problem is that the system is replicated in each and every profile. Means if the system is 900mb and using 2 profiles then 1800mb will be in use. That's y am searching a way to link my app to internal storage. Thanjs
I am having problems trying to install a few apps.
I keep getting error not enough space. Free up some space and try again.
Any suggestions? tried cache fixer and sweeper. Still the same.

I have tried to move apps to external card. All I get is The device does not have a real primary external storage,
or the primary external storage is emulated.
Moving app to sd function cannot be supported by this device.
Rom Tool box says the same thing, moving to external not possible on this device.
My internal memory is approx 9GB free my external is approx 18GB free.
It also says system rom: 2.21 GB (297 MB free)
Internal and media: 11.8 GB (9.91 GB free)
I have just uninstall-ed around 20 apps, so I can now update the installed apps without problems.
Now I am going to re-install to see how far I get before it tells me "not enough space".
I have nearly triple the amount of apps on my galaxy S3 and never run out of space.
I just wanted to add. No problems with my 64GB SD card. I have 4500 music tracks on it as well as 4 movies and approx 2000 photos. All work without a hitch.

After update to lollipop my HTC desire 816 dual SIM has 1.2 gb less internal memory space.Previously it has 3.95 gb internal space now only 2.75 gb.What is your experience friends?
Frustrating.Nobody wants to share how much internal space they have left after lollipop update.
I have had space issues ever since I got this phone. It's even worse when I updated to lollipop. I literally have only about 7 downloaded apps. The rest of my space is taken up by stock apps etc. I think my user apps account for 1gb.. Here's a screenie
Mine also 1gb....???
Now we can't update apps or install new apps from playstore.
Why still no move complete data to sd even after lollipop??if possibile we all can gain space..so anyone try to find the method..
Stock Apps
I'm thinking of rooting my phone to have a clear out of the stock apps because after the lollipop update I have <500mb remaining storage.
I have gone through the stock apps and calculated I can free up 300+
I was just wondering, I know HTC advises against removing stock apps but what are the actual consequences of uninstalling these apps?
Apps like Twitter and Hangouts I have no problem removing because I know exactly what they are for and will not be using them (plus if I ever change my mind they are available in the app store). It is the apps below I am unsure about:
1. Internet Browser (82mb) - I have Google Chrome installed so do not require 2 browsers.
2. Google Play Services (125mb) - I update ALL of my apps manually and do not require auto-update assistance.
3. Cloud Print, Dot View, My Google Drive, HTC Account, Push Client, HTC Guide
Are there any major consequences of removing these apps?
Thanks guys
Google Play Services does a lot more than just updating your apps, so do not uninstall it!
Can anybody give a list of the apps that can be uninstalled without troubles, I need to make room for my apps on this [email protected]#$ phone ?
I wish we could integrated updates into system apps, but it seems to never work

If you're rooted then you can disable write protection setup additional partition on SDcard and run link2SD.
If you don't want to root your phone the only option is to stop and disable the app then uninstall updates. That should save you some space and prevent the updates from downloading.
I had the same issue on my Moto E (XT1021). The update process gave a warning of what space was required but I hadn't checked. My spare space in internal memory was almost wiped out.
As a retired chap I wasn't likely to rush out and buy a new phone with more memory. I had just bought mine less than a year ago. So I looked at what I needed and how to get more memory back. This brought me to the idea of binning what Google stuff I can and installing 3rd party apps that can be moved to the SD card. I replaced the likes of Chrome, Camera, Gallery, Photo also 'removing' Drive, Books, Games, Music, Newstand, Text-to-Speech, Hangouts, Maps, Quickoffice, Street View, Talkback, Cloud Print and much of the Motorola stuff like Assist, Alert. 'removing' means uninstalling the app updates in 'Settings'
As a result I now have 700Mb free in internal memory. I'm looking to replace the supplied email and calendar apps with 3rd party stuff but many (most?) can't be moved to SD card.
PS. My phone worked fine after the update but my wife's Moto E will re-optimise after every power-up. I haven't the heart to tell her I might have to factory-reset it - not just yet
Hope the above helps!
Pete
