are you able to get into fastboot mode

no i can't

You're not supposed to flash those onto your phone...It's official. Head over to #g2root in the freenode irc and ask for help. You may be able to fix your phone.e
Sent from my DZ.

i went there and no one is answering, any way i found this, while RUU started updating my desire z from my computer, i disconnected the USB, the black htc logo turned in to white, and i saw a parsing process, everything is ok, but it stuck in updating USERDATA. this is the problem
maybe this helps

after executing this line in cmd with fastboot
fastboot.exe flash zip PC10IMG.zip
i got this

The experts are in freenode IRC channel #G2ROOT.
When you just tried once then try again, and again.
You can find awesome people there, but they also work and have a life and provide help for free. So there is not always help available.
Best regards,

[Q] Restoring/Unrooting back to 2.1 Stock.

Hi.
I'm selling my Desire so I need to restore it back to stock 2.1.
I followed this guide and when I clicked "upgrade" it came back with error "[155]: Unknown Error"
My phone is unbranded, bought sim free. It is running a custom 2.2 rom at the moment. Bootloader is 0.75.
Could someone advise on how I would go about doing this?
Thanks.
this guide help me to restore my phone
Did you read what I wrote?
I said I followed that and after running the HTC RUU and following the steps I eventually get an error and it doesn't go any further.
Which RUU are you trying to flash with?
The one that was linked to in the guide. "Unroot-RUU-Disire-1.15.405.4"
Ok, I wouldn't bother with that. Try this RUU instead:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bra...1.00.32U_4.08.00.09_release_137222_signed.exe
Since your phone is unbranded you won't need a goldcard.
Hi,
I tired that and I'm still getting the same error.

Are you on Windows 7 64bit? That causes problems with running RUUs for a lot of people.
That RUU itself should otherwise work fine.
Yes, I'm running Windows 7 x64. =/
Is there anyway of getting around this issue? Withouth installing another OS of course.
Thanks.
Yeah. If you have an AMOLED screen you can flash another way.
Download this file:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bra...00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.zip
Rename it to PB99IMG.zip (ensure the extension is not .zip.zip) and put it at the top level of your sdcard. Start the phone up in hboot mode (vol down + power), wait for it to find the file and then say yes to the flash prompt.
Don't do this on an SLCD phone or it'll break the display.
i have unrooted many times using w7 x64. i just follow the guide with wwe
Thanks I'll give that a shot!
How can I tell which screen I have? I got my Desire back in April if that's any help.
Thanks again.
Anything before July is always an AMOLED screen, so you're ok.
As long as you didn't upgrade to stock froyo that file should flash the phone fine as it doesn't require any communication with a computer.
Much love. <3
Worked a treat.
Now running 2.1-update1. I'll leave that as it is so the buyer can choose to upgrade to OTA 2.2 or root it.
Thanks again <3

Trying to rescue my friends Desire....

Hello,
since Saturday I'm trying to unbrick?! my friend's phone.
It doens't boot up into the rom and neither in the clockworkmod...
Booting into the bootloader is fine.
When starting the phone sometimes vibrites 7 times and then stuck at the htc logo. It's really rare to see a full boot.
I can't push a new cwm because it is S-on
Trying to get S-off seems impossible because I never get 2 complete restarts in a row.
Here some technical info:
Clockworkmod 2.5
Cyanogemod
Rooted
S-on
HBOOT 0.92.0001
Radio 5.09.00.20
Should I install a RUU to stabilisize the phone?
Please help me
yes try an RUU - make sure you have the right one though
How do I know it's the right one? It is unbranded, so which should I choose?

Stay tuned XD
Edit: Error 132...
"Signatur Error" and now?
Edit 2: Installed HTC Sync and now it flashes the RUU. Let's wait
Edit 3: Stoppt by 35% Funk..... Restartet phone... now I get a HTC logo with Warnsigns in every corner... Can't boot into the bootloader
Edit 4: found the RIGHt RUU and endet up with the error 152...
Here is a screenshot after the error

I got a complete RUU flash now but nothing changed. So I flashed it once more... it got stucked... I pulled out the battery and now the phone seems dead...
No charging light, no vibrations, nothing.
RIP?
Quite probably. I'd get HTC involved at this point.
I will.
But the Email Support doesn't work and the chat is offline.
So I call them tomorrow with my phone.
Thank you all, now I know much more about troubleshooting than before XD
Edit: After one hour the E-Mail has been sent. *Hope*

You [and all cdma variants (like me even)] will have to wait for kernel development as alquez states in his OP of that thread.
or
Restore your nandroid backup of stock (easiest fix).

Rob

Hope it comes soon...I forgot to make a backup before i went to cm7....however I do have a second Wildfire S thats rooted but for some reason i cant get into recovery to back up that ROM....it gets stuck on the white HTC screen....any ideas?
ideas
Can you boot to hboot [on second phone]? If not you are either semi-bricked or bricked. Still assuming you cannot get into hboot, go download the htc sync drivers, set up your environment [Google has a guide that walks you through it], then with the phone connected to your computer [and on] type "adb devices" If you get a return that looks like a short serial, it can be fixed... If no devices found... well, it will take someone smarter than me If you can boot to hboot, it can be fixed no problemo... Hit me back with results [via pm] I can't follow every thread I respond to.
Regards,
Rob
PS it sounds like the 2nd phone has had either a bad recovery or wrong boot.img flashed to it w/o knowing more

Possible driver errors?

Hey there forum. I made an account just to ask this question because I just spent 7 hours looking for the answer to what SHOULD be a simple fix. I have a T-Mobile HTC Wildfire S with the US RUU installed and the 1.09.0099 HBOOT as well. Now, I have tried to unlock my bootloader on the HTC website like you're "supposed" to. But whenever I put my phone into the bootloader and plug in it in as in the guide. Then I cannot get past step 8. Because my bootloader does NOT stay in "FASTBOOT USB" It goes back to FASTBOOT in around 30 seconds. I have gotten the command prompts in before it goes back but to no avail. When it is in FASTBOOT USB mode, it's as if it's not connected. Then when it goes to the regular FASTBOOT mode, then my Windows 8, 64 bit laptop (in case it was important), makes the sound that it does when you connect something with USB. Some help would be GREATLY appreciated because I am stuck with this phone and I need some CFW.
The drivers don't work on Win8 iirc.

This picture shows what my device manager looks like when my phone is in FASTBOOT USB.
And this picture shows what happens in the device manager after my phone drops out of FASTBOOT USB and into FASTBOOT. The computer makes the little connecting noise and then THAT.
Tbh, I dual-boot win7 and win8 just for my phone :/
Seeing how it seems you're just trying to unlock your bootloader and root, maybe borrow a friend's pc/laptop for the 30 minutes ?

Many thanks after numerous attempts to flash RUU it finally worked i think, the phone is optimizing apps as i type. Do i now need to do a recovery image or will it already be included with the RUU.
Don't really understand your question.
The RUU is stock image including recovery

This happened after a failed software update.
