I want to ask those who create ROMs to introduce "slide" effect, as with the original ROM (stock ROM-Gingerbread). If "slide" to the right, for a contact, it will call, if pulled to the left -it will bring you to message. Thank you.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I couldn't find, or at least I didn't see the answer for this.
I would like to know if it is possible to add the callprog plugin to the Sliding Panels Homescreen. The reason I ask is because there is times when I need to send a text or get some kind of information from my phone while I'm on talking on my phone and once I close the window that shows the call in progress I cannot go back.
Thank you in advance!
Sure you can.... just click the "back" key until it goes back to the dialer application. And no, regular homescreen plugins cannot be added to the sliding panels homescreen
also if you press the green "dial" key, that will also take you back to the call progress screen.
Yep that too....!
Thank you very much for all the info, appreciate it.
Why is it that most, if not all, custom taskbar icons seem to mess up the bottom-bar button icons for things such as the send button for email and SMS, the back arrow button when in the start menu, etc?
Is there any way to avoid this, or to restore the icons on the bottom buttons? I'd really like to use, for instance, Brian's WM6.5 taskbar icons, but it bugs me to no end that the "send" button for SMS and email becomes blank, the "delete" botton when in the email inbox just shows an "X" (rather than the trash can), and others...
Anyone? Or, anyone know a cool taskbar icon set for the Rhodium WM6.5 that DOESN'T mess up the other buttons?
THanks,
Jeff
One of things I've always wanted to do to Manila is remove the SMS and Email tabs in favor of having them appear on the Home tab.
When I get a new SMS, I miss being able to see a little "1" pop up on my messaging icon, and being to click it to jump right into pocket outlook and start my threaded conversation. (Right now, I have to slide over to the tab, read it in an admittedly eye candy scrolling fashion, often flicking back a couple of messages to remember what I was talking about, then click to open up HTC's messaging application. Its more clicks and swipes than I think necessary.)
I like that 2.5 lets you place shortcuts on the bottom of the home panel (finally), so I was considering making those shortcuts to SMS and Email and removing the tabs, but then I realized I'd be losing the notifications.
I'm still looking up and reading about Manila customization, and I think this should be possible... can anyone with some knowledge on the subject point me in the right direction?
Do I need to edit the home mode9 file?
Do I need to learn LUA?
Do I need both?
Multi Slider Incoming Call Screen (MSICS for short)
MSICS comes with three sliders instead of one.
The bottom slider is the usual one. No need to elaborate on that one.
The middle slider is the one I have been missing, is allows you to answer with the speaker on in one slide. (Instead of three actions in the original dialer: slide to answer slide down that black thing and pressing on the speaker icon.)
The top slider is the real interesting one it allows you to ignore the incoming call and send the caller a SMS massage with a predefined text (slide right).
Slide left on the top slider to send your location (as Google Maps link) to the caller.
This option is a very convenient way to reply to calls that usually say: "you're late! Where are you?".
MSICS is an idea for an incoming call screen. I need someone to create it.
The picture was made with Photoshop, this is not real (YET!)
If you want to help making MSICS real, please contact me.
Gr8 idea!!!
This would be very useful! Simple and brilliant idea!
The "preview" is fine too..
I wish I would be such kind of application developer that I could implement this through coding (not through PS )
Summa summarum, you've got +1 vote from me...
Hope that somebody with enough coding/HD2/Sense experience would take care about this project.

thanks Szior, looks like your the only one liking this one...
I liked too, but I think that, only the ones that can help making this should answer, otherwise you'll receive dozens of replys saying "I would love to have this...", " I need this...", " I want this..." and in the end you'll get no positive answer.
Let's wait that someone can make this.
Ciao.

I can't find where inesoft phone does some of this. Can you point us in the right direction with a link showing it.
overkill
Seems like overkill. Mute is already an easy option with the volume buttons, speaker is only 1 tap after answering, S2U2 offers an sms option which is just 1 tap after ignoring.
I do like the map option. I would suggest hopping over to S2U2 and suggesting it to AC. The S2U2 option pops up the choice of sending an sms or not after you slide to ignore and I would think it could easily be changed from 2 buttons to 3 buttons adding a send map button in addition to the send sms and cancel buttons.
The question is how hard is it to incorporate finding your gps location, mapping it and sending that map when you do hit that new button. I'm sure it can be done, but how much work will it be and is anyone willing to do it. Adding it to an existing similar app already in use rather than yet another new app eating up more memory makes more sense to me. Just my opinion.
One person thinks of an idea... shares it...and another idea is born.
What about a 4 way slider in the shape of a cross instead? Each direction could have a separate action associated with it:
Push UP: Answer call and start speaker phone
Push LEFT: Answer call in phone
Push RIGHT: Reject call
PUSH DOWN: Reject call and send SMS message.
gr8 idea
its look like gr8 idea, so hope someone clever will make it
ya this looks awesome. will be awaiting this mod
Up
Please UP....up
Great idea. I'm in !
For a while, when reading, I was hoping it was indeed real.
I have no skills to implement on the WM side, yet I think the top slider is on you'd want to potentially disable/make harder to activate, if you do slide on the wrong one among the lower two everything is alright anyway, if you slide by mistake on the top one it could have bad effects

Hello to everybody.
I'm trying to find out which is the fastest ROM ICS based for doing the following, where fastest means less number of touch on the screen or number of seconds before getting the desired result:
Call John Doe, when you have in the agenda also John Dui, John Ash, John Bone, John Cut and may be some other John as well as some more Doe (Albert, Stefan, Nat).
And then the same for opening the screen into input mode for sending him an SMS.
I used to have also Blackberry (oh yes, nice email reader but not very nice phone/smartphone), but with it, in every point of the user i/f calling John Doe would mean:
press the red button, press J, press space, press D.
I sow different behavior depending ont the ROM on the phone, but before trying all of them, if anyone can post his result it would be very appreciated.
thanks
Luca
Mate, you talking about speed dial or something?
As far as I'm aware there is no speed dial in the stock ICS or Sony dialers. Most if not all custom roms for ARC either use the Sony stock dialer or ICS stock dialer.
There are a few ways however that you can overcome this:
* On the dialer you can select "contacts", long press on someones name and select "add to favorites". Do this for every one you need. Then on the bottom right of the dialer, select "groups" then "star" on the top right. There will be a screen with all the people which you have added to "favorites". When you touch them you have the option of calling or SMS'ing them.
* You can also go to the Google Play Store and search for "speed dial" and download an app to set your friends on the speed dial list or speed dial widget if you want them on your screen. You can then call or SMS. Widgets are probably faster as you can have all people on the screen without opening dialer
* Probably not when your looking for but typing the first few letters of the name of the person on the dialer will bring up their name. You can touch once to call or press and hold the name for the option to send sms.
P.S You seem to have a lot of friends named John
The new ICS has a feature where you can start typing s name and it will narrow it down for you. Or just add them to favorites
@adielee
not speed dial, just a faster and intuitive dialler.
@irononreverse
something like this. May be the right question would be: which is the most intuitive and fast dialler, and feature rich?
I mean, press home button, touch receiver icon, then touch 5 (jkl), touch space, touch 3 (def)
I'm using today boosthd rom, and in the dialpad is not possible to touch "space" (may be I was not able to find the method)
Also in this rom, it is possible to order t9 selection based on name first or number first (by means of the option screen). But it is not possible to show ONLY name or ONLY numbers. This means that the list by touching 2-3 digits is really long.
anyone else have other ideas/solutions/suggestion?
thanks
Luca
I've been using Google Search app/widget for quick contact access on stock ROM, what I do is I limit searchable items in it's settings to just contacts, and when you start typing, it will act just like quick contacts search.
And you can always use voice search command, launch Voice Search and say "Call John Doe"
