English Live Test by mushweed - HTC One X

So,
i've been asked to do my Test in English too. Yesterday I did a lot in German on http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/htc_one_x_forum/244455-htc_one_x_live_test.html
-> Now i gonna do some in English, but plz keep in mind, my English isn't that good
Cause its gonna be a "Live Test" I'll add new Videos whole day. U can always post questions and i gonna try to answer them.
Questions about battery : I cant anser them. Yesterday battery was never charged full. Today is first day with 100% battery. Due to presentation and tests, there will be no chance to evaluate a Reallife battery statement.
Let's go
HTC One X - Unboxing
HTC One X Hands On
HTC One vs Galaxy Note

reserved...

I know this has been asked a lot, but is there any chance you can confirm USB OTG host mode to connect thumb drives...the one thing that still is a bit iffy...

My cable shpuld arrive today. I gonna do an instant test !!!

black!!!! thanks man

Second video is being progressed i guess?

Glad i didn't choose the white one.

Great videos! I need mine badly!!!!!!

I think it's clear that both colours are great in their own way.
Personally I'm going for white, but wouldn't be disappointed at all with the darker version. (grey, black)
What is clear - this is a damn Sexy phone, I really want mine sent & delivered so I see it with my own eyes.
Ive:
Never owned HTC
Never used sense
Never owned a curved phone
Never owned a white phone
Never had hd phone screen
Never used beats
Never had a notification light
Never used dropbox
.... So to say this will be a new experience for me, truly is an understatement!
Big thank you to all the guys creating videos to help my impatience! - its making the waiting just a little bit more bearable.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

I am happy, black is the only available version right now. Hope white will be out too.
@OP
Thanks for the videos.
Can you check the landscape rosie, Does it work alone or only with the Media link device?

Nex Video already uploading. May take some time to be displayed.

@mushweed
I also asked this in the YT comments, but could you maybe compare the resolution of a picture taken while recording and one taken while playing the same recorded video?

You say in the video the speaker is not very loud but is it louder than classic HTC phones including Sensation? How do you compare the loudspeaker to other devices?
Can you please try the screen under sunlight?

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum neuen Handy!
@mushweed : Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum neuen Handy! Thanks so very much for the insightful video's unboxing the One X, the quick review of the browser & for comparing the One X with the Gnote & the Galaxy SL-Very apt comparison indeed! In the second video, you mentioned that you were facing issues with the Wifi & you were referring to an update-is this specific to the One X or were you facing challenges with the Wifi connection @ home in general?
I would be extremely grateful if you could kindly check on the following for me:
1. What is the default mp size of the phone saved while recording video's and can one change it via settings for a 8mp shot?
2. After reading the warranty terms & conditions, what does it say about repairs/replacement of the Once X during the warranty period? Do you see anyway that the handset could be opened for repairs?? You did mention in the video there was no space between the screen and the body while describing how the screen curves over the rest of the body, so I guess the chances of repairs by opening the handset are near to none!
3.Also, can you please upload a copy of the warranty terms & conditions-I've been wanting to pre-order this device but have held back due to the unibody design & I can't help but wonder about HTC's SOP regarding repairs & replacement for the One X during warranty and the "non-repairable" post warranty dilemma to avoid owning an expensive paper weight in case the hardware does need help after the warranty is exhausted. I would be highly obliged if you could check with your local HTC Customer Service desk about the same as the tech support in my country have no clue about it yet!
4. About the scree-in your opinion, especially after playing around with the screen encased in Gorilla glass(2), do you feel the need for covering it with a screen-guard? (I 'm aware there's a separate thread on this forum raising this question but I found it apt & convenient to ask mushweed here instead, along with my other queries)
5. Can you also compare the GPS capabilities of the One X in comparison to the Gnote. Does the One X support GLONASS like the Gnote?
I'm looking forward to more video reviews from you and hope that you will also showcase the loud speaker quality of the One X & how the beats equalizer setting makes a difference to the default sound on the speaker & on the default headphones. I also await your feedback about USB OTG function, as inquired by other members and your feedback about battery life.
Vielen Danke.. Schuß!

Will answer all your qestions as soon as the OTG and HDMI Cable arrived !!

Truly excellent videos, you've done great work here.
The multitouch thing is very strange - my only guess is that the software is limiting the touch events to two. For some reason. Since three finger swipe works. Maybe BECAUSE they don't want you to accidentally launch the HD Media Link? I don't know.
Definitely curious as to what would happen in an ASOP rom...

i've got around 700+ records with mp3 and flac copies of all of them on my computer. the flac files take more than 26 GB, but i have found that i am not happy with smartphone music quality. i don't believe beats audio eq will fix that, so i'm ready to carry both a phone and music player. the only thing that will take up a lot of space on the phone for me will be 1080p videos of concerts/DJs. if i was at a 3 day festival, then it's possible i would run out of space. i can't use the dropbox feature because i have a 2 GB limit on ATT. thanks for the videos! i don't know what color i want, but i have almost 2 weeks to decide.

[Q] HTC Desire: Is it worth it?

Hi all,
I realise it might be silly to ask this in a HTC Desire section, but is it worth getting the Desire?
My niece is buying my HTC Hero from me and I loved owning that, so I was thinking of an 18 month Desire contract. What would you guys suggest?
Thanks in advance,
--Ray
Bad Points
-----------
battery life sucks
disconnect charger & lose 10%
gps poor
sat nav uses your data allownce
camera is poor... n95 walks all over it
720 vid freezes
cant see screen in day light
bluetooth dont stay on, discoverable for 120sec's
speaker very poor
Good Points
-----------
good for browsing internet
some good apps
nice size screen
root phone for custom roms
The desire with slcd can be seen in direct light

IMHO totally worth it.
Yes, there are some flaws. But still, it's the greatest toy I have ever owned
Nothing like smooth internet browsing on the couch. Or checking Wikipedia in a bar. Or messaging my facebook friends on the bus. Great
Ahh, nice. Thanks
People who have had HTC Heros before: how does it compare in terms of experience (not just a list of specs)?
It's an good upgrade from the hero. It feels more solid and optical trackpad is big improvement.

The little battery trick posted several places(1) worked pretty well for me and many other people (although not everyone). My Desire has been unplugged (and unused) for 16 hours and is only down to 89%. On a normal day (mp3's to and from work, browsing every chance I get, emails, texts, a few calls) I'm still in the green at bedtime.
(1) Too new to post a link. It's a full night's charge after full depletion, unplug, recharge one hour, unplug, turn on, turn off, charge one more hour.

battery life sucks - You can extend it, using various methods.
disconnect charger & lose 10% - If you have done your research - you'll know this is crap you're talking here. I dont have this issue on my Desire.
gps poor - Uh, no it's not? Where are you? Under a rock?
sat nav uses your data allownce - Ah, no it doesn't - get Copilot and all maps remain on the SD card.
camera is poor... n95 walks all over it - Smoking something are we? lol
720 vid freezes - No it doesn't - it has low frame rates - but this is a cell phone after all, so deal with it.
cant see screen in day light - New Desires come with SLCD which work 100% in sunlight. My current Desire even works well in sunlight.
bluetooth dont stay on, discoverable for 120sec's - Why do you need it on longer than that? Normal bluetooth on the phone stays on for as long as you want.
speaker very poor - Again, you smoking something?

battery life does not suck! 3 days with heavy use if you know how to use android..
"disconnect charger & lose 10%" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755903 very easy..
"poor gps" also have to disagree with that! I have a tom tom xl europe, use the phone more then my sat nav, very smooth, very accurate!
The camera is much better than the n95! My sister had the n95, at the time I had my nokia 5800, and that 3.2mp camera was much better! the hTc camers is much better, nice effects, auto focus.
720p video mode does freeze (sometimes) but then again thats what task killers are for
The speakers are bad, but if you listen long enough you won't see the differance, now that I'm back with my nokia, can't stop listening to music!
bluetooth is a bit of a dissapointment when sending bigger files, however I do think that there should be an app that should stop that.
well, thats my icing on the cake, if I think of anything else I'll let you know
hope this help! good luck!

I agree! The review by lee815 has been very poor. There is a thread on the forum on how to fix these littles annoyances. But most of what he mentions are utter bs tbh
I'm probably being a bit thick here, but what is "SLCD"? I've just got my desire and I'm having problems seeing the screen in daylight, so anything that rectifies that would be great.
Thanks!

Since you cant see a thing in daylight then you have an AMOLED Desire like most of us.. there is no solution to that to speak of.. i have bought a screen protector which stated it would make my screen readable on direct sunlight but thats bullocks at least..

Coming from a Hero, the Desire is a very welcome upgrade. Personally feel like it is the perfect size too.
The screen is hard to see when in direct sunlight but I haven't had an issue with it in the car for navigation so far and I use it at least once a week in the car.
It is that much more responsive and web browsing is awesome.
It doesn't feel as cramped as the Hero did to me after a while and it feels like a quality product though sadly I leave mine in a gel case to protect it. Everyone says the speaker is crap but I've been pretty happy with mine if I'm playing music through it but then I'm not an audiophile or anything like that. Easily the best phone I've had

That's set my mind at ease a bit, I think I'm definitely going to go through with this and get a Desire now!
One last question.
Is it still risky to root it? I remember reading a while ago how easy it was to permanantly brick your Desire in some cases.

While im no "root guru" since i havent rooted any Android phones so far (was a WM 6.5 addict before hand) if you are on stock 2.1 rom and with the Amoled screen the rooting is as simple as pressing one button (with UnRevoked method..)
If you are on the 2.2 rom though.. ive read that you need to downgrade first to 2.1 before rooting etc..
I personaly dont have the need to root mine simply because, unlike M$, I trust HTC and her software and everything seems perfect to me on stock ROMs.. and im not really in the mood of flashing every day like i did on my xperia before..
Wether you decide to root it or not, the Desire is a truly wonderful phone in all of its aspects i hope you'll enjoy it as much as i (and probably most of the people who have boughted it) have..

the screen brightness is easily overcome with the power widget

HTC One X now out in Australia

Picked up my unlocked White HTC One X here at a local phone shop in Melbourne Australia today for $668 Aust.
Loving it so far, beautiful screen and resolution and overall feel is very solid and premium.
The Sony Xperia S will be getting sold!

Congrats mate
Only thing white specific I'm interested in is how easy cleaning the back of the phone is from hand oils, dirt, marks, etc. Someone on youtube shows a pen coming off okay, but don't worry, I won't ask you to test that
Hope the UK retailers get their act in gear and we aren't waiting till estimates like the 10th-12th for Phone.
here's a few things you can test mate, i'd appreciate the response:
- take a 720p and 1080p video and check what bitrate it's recorded at
- take some normal and HDR shots of the same thing and post them
- take a panorama (they supposedly increased the dimensions) and post it
- run a quadrant, antutu, stuff like that and post results
thanks!

Seems pretty much the same sofar - is there a way to better measure this?
Currently got my eyes stuck on the HTC One X at the moment (I'm from Perth, Australia).
Would be awesome if we could get a black/grey one here in Australia, but not a BIG problem (I just dislike anything glossy, to be honest, and the rim around the grey's camera is matte).
Anyway, will see what SGS3 has to offer before I pick between that and the HTC One X.
Looking VERY promising and I'm really excited!

That's cool, I'm not a fanboy for any manufacturer or device & don't disregard anyone's opinion.
but SGS2 is still Samsung's flagship device, ICS is its first update to a new android & I cannot believe how poor ICS is for this device.
The design is very poor, it feels nothing like ICS.
It's really laggy & slow compared to the excellent gingerbread rom that samsung developed.
It completely ruined my confidence in Samsung's software development team & forced me to go elsewhere - maybe in the future samsung will improve its software, but for now - i want a change.
Never owned an HTC device before, never used sense & never owned a white phone before, so this is gonna feel completely fresh & new to me - excited!
I predict the sgs3 would have the same 'feel' as SGS2 but faster with better specs, & its this feel I wanted a change from. (not because it's a bad feeling, but I certainly want to feel like I have a new phone, a new experience & new software)
Good luck with your decision making

Definitely! I'm basically just looking at what both has to offer rather than sort of risk jumping into the HTC One X pool then having to come out again when the SGS3 is significantly better.
In other words, I'm looking at which has better features for me personally, since I assume they'll both be in the same price range anyway.

HTC One X mobile-review.com review

looks like a review is up, although it will need translating
Chrome translated the review for me. Here's the meat of the conclusion:
It's time to take stock, and, unfortunately, in many ways I have to admit that the HTC One X turned out not the way this unit is pictured in person I am. What I wanted to see the new flagship of HTC as a user and fan of the brand? First, the significant improvement of the camera, and such changes are announced by the company. According to the pattern that was in my arms, I can say that the quality of the camera HTC One X not only departed from previous models of the manufacturer, but in some ways even became worse. Secondly, I would like to see a new flagship has become more flexible and open, in the sense that buying a phone for 30,000 rubles, I would have received at the hands of high-quality and highly customizable tool. However, HTC One X is not a trivial slot for memory card, so that the flagship is limited to 25 gigabytes, is used here is still not the most common format microSIM, which also adds a smartphone points. Thirdly, HTC over the summer last year, trained their users to the fact that if the body is smart and Beats Audio is 30,000 rubles, the kit you will find the just-like-quality headphones from the Beats. Here, it is not.
Of course, the smartphone has many strengths, without thinking it is an excellent display, quality plastic and, to my taste, just a gorgeous, fresh design vehicle for the company. In addition, we should not discount the HTC Sense 4.0, although the interface is the company "better" is not quite clear, it still remains the strongest link in the company's products, giving users a convenient box of HTC phones to make calls, e-mail and much more.
With all of the above disadvantages, I must honestly admit that I like HTC One X. First of all, its design (talking about the device in white), second - still comfortable Sense, and the third - the fact that the aggregate of qualities, this little smartphone stands out from the dozens of Android-repetitive clones. Simply put, I see the sparkle in it, there is a sense that it put the soul, and let's turned into such a controversial product. But if we try to answer the question, I would have bought a HTC One X, or wait a Samsung Galaxy S III - the answer is unambiguous, we must wait for the flagship of the Samsung and then draw conclusions. The new flagship of HTC's success with some points of view, but others turned out to be not good enough, this machine feels the potential, but the company failed to disclose to the end. I would like to make it like a fairy tale, HTC have taken into account the problems and errors with the release of One X (no memory card slots, frankly Camera Raw, I do not know what was going on in the module itself, or in software) and then offered to users an updated version of, say, HTC One X2 or something like that. But is it possible in today's world of commerce and endless racing technology?
Ouch :-( That doesn't sound too positive..
Using google translate the conclusion seems to be:
Bad
- Camera is worse than he expected and in his opinion worse than some previous models
- No SDCard slot
- Micro SIM
- No Beats
Good
- Excellent Display
- Quality Plastic
- Gorgeous Fresh Design
- Sense 4.0
He likes the phone but feels HTC just missed the mark slightly. He would need to wait for the SG3 specs before making a decision. He hopes for a HTC One X2 with the bad points fixed.
Indeed.
I will really consider if to return this phone or keep it

I actually think its quite positive. If you look at the bad points then we have known about 3 of them for a long time. For the camera part we have hamdir who will guide us on how to optimise it from a usage point and then we have a lot of dev's who will hopefully be able to tweak it. Also this is just one persons view.
Also I noticed he stated the battery was ok no better or worse than other android devices and he stated "When watching a video of the charge lasts for 4-6 hours, depending on the quality of the preview clip, and the selected level of brightness." Which seems ok to me.
Most of the bads aren't a surprise and therefore not bad to me. But if the camera is bad, then there is really something wrong, since the camera is supposed to be one the biggest selling points. And if it isn't great, I will return the One X that I expect to receive in a few days.
But I really hope it isn't true...
i don't really think micro sim, no memory slot, and no beats headphones should really be counted so negatively. the camera is another thing, though. i still want one because i already know the quality of Samsung software and source code, which is bad.
i'm hoping for an engadget or techradar review monday, those are my go too sites for mobile phone reviews.
Bought the phone mostly for the camera, hopefully software updates can improve it
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
He also notes that he was on preproduction firmware (which may imply preproduction hardware), and notes that while there was no flex or creak initially, that after a week or so he could move the screen about a millimeter by pressing down in the middle of the left edge, as shown in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj-CYNDfd6c
That's pretty alarming, and I hope limited to being a preproduction quirk.
Oh, and he says that he couldn't register multitouch beyond two fingers in any test app, although he knows that a three-fingered swipe starts the remote video function. Hope implementing that function doesn't prevent three-fingered touch, because I use at least one app that specifically needs three-fingered touch to pan.

I don't see if he mentions his settings, but his photos are noticeably, significantly less sharp than we've seen from users here.
Let's not forget that if phones came out the box perfect and problem-free, we wouldn't be here on XDA!
Half the fun is going to be identifying the flaws and working on setting them right.
Regardless of how the forthcoming reviews turn out, I think the One X is going to be a solid platform to do that on, and is going to have massive amounts of support and development here.
Bring on full root, s-off and kernel source code!
I'm starting to think his pre-production firmware may nullify much of his review. Just tried the video samples after they took forever to download, and both seem to show extreme frame dropping.
The google translate is not superb, I didn't understand a thing about speaker volume for ringtones nor the screen under sunlight performance

Oh, that was another of his complaints; if I read correctly he said the screen is too glossy.
knoxploration said:

For the multi touch, I can tell you there is an option in the settings which allows the phone to register more than 2 simultaneous touches. It registered all my 10 fingers, though it was hard to put them all on the screen and move them around

It seems that HD video reproduction is not fluid, only with low bitrates. That's a HUGE turndown, for me.
Unless I've misread the translations, The only main bad point is the camera & in all videos & test shots I've seen - the camera is great!
What a stupid review.
No micro SD slot - Google has already stated they want it done this way, as external sd slots actually cause problems & slow the device down. (HTC are offering dropbox as a compromise too)
Micro sim - i notice it wasn't a bad point when apple did it. (apparently micro sims will become the norm for everyone in future devices anyway)
Basically, they loved the screen, speed, sense & design yet still thought up some rubbish to put a negative spin on the review.
Talking of the SGS3 to see how this device compares? - who the hell does that? - the sgs3 is still just an idea, a prototype hasn't even been introduced yet & no device should ever be judged on another device, a review is supposed to be of this device, & this device alone.
Forgive me if I pay no attention to this 'review'

You've misread the review. He criticized quite a few things, but most of them seem to be either user error, or likely related to the fact he didn't have final firmware.
One thing stands out as alarming, though. He noted that on his sample, within just a week the gorilla glass section of the case had come loose from the unibody, and could move up and down by around a millimeter when pressed.
There's a video making the problem clearly visible; hopefully it's just a handmade preproduction body that doesn't have the same tolerances as a final release product.

Yep, thanks, I also see this myself in Ben86's videos:

Either it was user error on the reviewer's part, or his preproduction firmware lacked the feature.

Yes I saw that, but I've never heard of this from anyone else, not even on demo units & HTC couldn't afford for this to happen on mass production.

This is the One X forum. The only answer you will get here will be 'yes'. You are asking the converted!
(I have still yet to decide between this and the One S).
i have it and i must say it is very different to my old galaxy s2. big, gorgeous and beautiful in white. but there are things i am worried about. one the phone is already locked bootloader two would not have a clue how to root it even if i wanted to and three i need to get it a case
other than that great choice and when i put it on a surface i always make sure i am careful doing it
Yes it's excellent been playing with mine for last couple of hours and can't fault it. Too early to tell in terms of battery life but wow it's good. Even little things like the YouTubeHD videos look awesome far better compared to my galaxy. Notification light is a bliss, screen looks awesome, camera works well. Build quality is nice but will thoroughly test it all when I get some time.
With custom roms and kernels it will only get better.

I hear that fruit brand that make a nice phone with some nice looking pages of tiles you can flick between and errr... FOLDERS! Well, what more do you want? True customisation.
Yes, we are a bit of a biased bunch here - BUT I will say that I had pretty damn high expectations of this phone, and it actually surpassed them. By some distance.
As far as this or the One S is concerned.. well... 16gb is not enough for me, and the Screen on the One X (Capitalised on purpose).... Oh the screen.....

On another forum there are iphone converts, GN converts, SGSII converts and all are happy with the One X. Of course again there is bias because these are all people who have already bought it
The screen is what threw me as well. I'd initially decided the One S given I was coming from a desire and it wasn't just a huge leap in size. Then I started seeing the reviews about the screens, people had done microscope shots showing the difference.... and i was sold
M.
When is the OTA update due and what's it for???? Hope it fixes the weird flickering. I get in browser and camera sometimes......
do me a favor guys please...look at the power button at the top. on the right side of the power button do you see like a little hole at the bottom of the button..kinda like the plastic power button is out of place? i know it is nothing and will be covered when using a case but i am kinda OCD with things like that and i just want to know it is not me just imagining things
sounds a good choice i must admit it does look sexy in white carnt wait to get mine.

I don't see the hole on mine, at most there is a really small gap next to the button at the front camera side but it doesn't sound like what you're talking about.

Since I have not yet been converted, I would have to say, NO, you did not make the right choice. Pass on HTC's silly decision to make a phone that doesn't allow adding an SD card. My 16 month old HTC phone with 4GB of internal + 32GB of external barely stores my modest music collection without much room to spare for other things like lots of apps or picture/video storage. I would think that charging a premium for a quad core CPU and such a gorgeous screen, what moron decided to exclude external storage ability without designing in at least twice the memory they settled on? ... and I really do want to like this phone!! Maybe by the time I am ready to upgrade, HTC will realize their mistake and release a version with external storage ability. I mean, you already have to get into it to install a SIM right?

I think youll find most handsets are going down this root now with space constraints due to large processers, better cams etc and they will just tell you why do you need to store stuff on phone when it can be stored in cloud for easy access aswell

I think i'm done!

Posting in this section because posters on this form have experience with both the S4 and the Tegra 3.
Currently I own an HTC ONE S. I love the way it looks and feels in the hand, the screen and battery life is decent and when its working correctly its lovely and fast.
BUT
I hate the chipping issues and there is no official word on a solution for the black version. The Internet and signal is sporadic at best jumping from 3G to HSDP+ and often not working at all i'm also getting soft resets when browsing the internet. I also hate that it can't play 720p youtube smoothly.
I'm thinking of complaining to 3mobile and upping my tariff and swapping for a HTC One X (international with Tegra 3).
I'll get used to the size and the added bonus of extra storage will be nice. The battery concerns me a little. In work I always have access to a charger so thats ok. But at weekends when i'm out and about just using the phone for the occasional call and text and nothing else am I likely to notice a huge difference between the S and the X?
Would you make the change if you were having the same issues as me? I've had two ONE S's both with the same problems so its not just my phone.
There have been no updates for the S whereas there have been at least 2 for the X. Also the ROM scene on the S isn't great with not many releases and I was hoping to learn how to do that and have some fun tinkering.
What would you do?
Thanks for any help in advance.
If I were you I'd go ahead and get the One X because you seem to want more power to play 720p smoothly without LTE and after reading the Battery Stats thread (which includes the One X international version), I came to a conclusion that the One X has pretty decent battery life. Though I'm already biased because I literally can't sleep at night because I'm thinking about this phone, I would still recommend it over the One S also because of screen size and quality. But before you pull the trigger and get the One X, you should ask around the forums and see if anyone else is using the unlocked international version of the One X on T-Mobile and if they're experiencing similar issues.
they said they changed the process of the one s, so idk exchange it for the one s, if it doesnt work go to the one s!!!!
but i think your meant to post this in the international one x section??? yes no idk
Wrong forum, this is the S4 One X(L) section.
That being said, the S4 version is still a fantastic device.

Apologize. Could an admin move it for me?
current One X owner, it eats h264 for breakfast and plays 1080p videos flawaless im surprised the One S can't play 720p, tegra games and the SLCD2 screen have to be seen to be believed
however we have serious list of random build quality defects right and there is a high chance you might get a defected unit, i made a poll and 28% out of 600 voters had a defected unit
im switched two phones so far each with their own set of build niggles, these devices are fresh out of the oven and HTC is yet to nail the production process

My advice: get rid of them and move on. Why stick w something that gives you so much distress and then feel unhappy?
That being said, if I were to get any of them, I'd stick around since they are such nice phones and I cant imagine me using Android on any other brand Sam*cough*sung*cough.
But again: it's just a phone. Dont like it dont use it.

Please don't be misleading when it comes to defective numbers, its natural that when people have defects they come search on a forum like this and when nothing is wrong they don't.
Also after years of reading these forums its clear that out of the thousands there is always a few ocd who nit pick at things that the general public would never even notice as build defects.
My One X is fine btw It's the longest I have ever gone without rooting and installing custom rom, I think because I really enjoy the stock speeds and sense UI re design ^.^

Dust would drive me insane! The chipping issue on the ONE S is not good at all.
The phone plays 720p fine in a dedicated media player but it does not like 720p in youtube in the browser.
I do like my ONE S just wish it would work properly (internet and MAO coating).

I'm with basil3...to any of us here, the most minute little inconsistency will drive us mad and we will post and ***** and moan about it all day long, but to most people, such things don't even compute. It's the same reason "most people" buy iPhones...they just don't know any better and any old POS will do.
Fwiw, I also have a perfect OneX. Still stock and brilliant in every way. I also find it difficult to believe someone would keep going back to something that they found defective fifteen times...
get the XL if you are on tmobile..if you buy the international version you will be stuck with edge unless you live in an area that tmo has refarmed their 1900 spectrum to handle 3G (which I doubt it)
