People were saying the GPU in the GN was just terrible but its not that bad and should last me the year or two i will have it. However if i get bored ill overclock and throw chainfire 3d on it till what ever the latest and greatest is out.
Here are the Benchmarks
Games played are HD
Riptide
9mm
Shadow Gun
Samurai II Vengeance
Asphalt 6 Adrenaline
Need for speed shift
n64oid test and more games
Note: i got mine imported(its actually pre released) running on T-Mobile dumped the forgotten Mytouch 3g fender 1.2 version for it. Coming from that and the g1 this is the snappiest device i have ever owned running android. I didn't care all about GPU because ill be doing most of my mobile gaming on the PSV anyways.
It's a pain that new games like Riptide (or any Gameloft title) don't work, ...but it plays N64 and PS1 games perfectly.
It'll be interesting to see SG2 benchmarks when the official ICS update is out.
A guy with a lot more technical knowhow than me describes some of it here

The Galaxy Nexus has to run most apps in compatibility mode because they do not support ICS yet but, it has given me a great experience so far. Somethings telling me the sgs2 is going to slow down a bit when it gets the upgrade not because of hardware because of the new touchwiz coming with it.
We will have to see!

Is there any game that plays like temple run in the market?
GalaXy S ll @ 1200x720 ;D
"Run Like Hell" is the same game, it looks like, except it's in 2d, not 3:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.masscreation.rlh
Also, I'd recommend Diversion, which has similar gameplay, but is just a much better game overall, IMHO:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ezone.Diversion
Lastly, the company that makes "Temple Run, says it's coming to Android soon, (but the fact that they have put up ads asking for coding help:
http://www.anddev.org/jobs-teams-f24/port-temple-run-from-ios-to-android-t56108.html
would make me more than a little concerned, if this was a game I was waiting for.)
I'd just give the other two a shot, honestly.

Temple run in february
Hi,
Temple run should be coming out in February 2012 to android,
So wait and check the devoloper page,
theres a galaxy s2 HD already? how are you running it on 720p.
I'm just considering my options.
I am a gamer. But from what I see on Wikipedia, the game base for this is very limited with crap ps1 games like jumping flash.... ammi rite?
Considering this vs. the new HTC One X.
Is there a successor to this phone coming soon?
Trying to get caught up on this model and series...
I see now, 228 games listed in the other forum.
Though, I was hoping for some quality PS1 games at least.
It would be sweet to be able to play my PSN purchased ps1 games or ps2 games. Final Fantasy 7,8,9,10 Silent Hills, Resident Evils, etc...
=(
Well you can also install emulators for other consoles.
And FPSE is is good for all your PS1 games.
I and one other person are also working on getting PSXPeria working again as alot of people are having problems. Which lets you play PS1 games on the native Xperia Play emulator for better compatibility. We're almost there. Once we're both tested it, I'll make a thread for it with detailed instructions.
Xperia Play is a great phone and gaming device. Can emulator the other consoles, so really the gamebase is HUGE.

If your a gamer get the Xperia Play. It's cheaper and it's an all rounder. Loads of games on it as well.
Oh and Sonic 4 Episode 2 will be coming out on it as well sweet ! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1521835
With the release of the Playstation Suite in April (probably along with our ICS update) we should hopefully see an increase in good quality games

Spot on
I guess you should evaluate it from every angle.
Unfortunately, I think Xperia Play is already at the end of its support life. Probably from 2013 on we'll have almost no support, and I'm kinda willing to bet there'll be no official Jelly Bean for us (though we have a great team here at xda that surely will make it work for us) while HTC One X will probably receive support til 2014.
Besides, the hardware on One X seems better from the spec sheet.
On the other hand, Xperia Play works very well for the daily use and have this amazing touchpad that I love. Until it starts to be too laggy to work on a daily basis, I'm not willing to exchange it for any other device.
So, it's really your call and priorities. We'll be waiting you to join us!
Is there anyone having the same problem as me? The new gameloft games like spiderman, batman, asphalt are slow to 7 htc one x, I tried with the new kernel faux promises an improvement in the games but still slows down. And the other games are normal, these three are happening ONLY this.
You need the Faux kernel AND the Gaming Boost app.

no it does not, its just gameloft don't support tegra 3 yet, but after nexus 7 was released gameloft announced that its going optimize games for tegra 3. we just need to wait. so my advice to you don't buy any Gameloft games its extremely laggy and anyone who says it isn't he is stupid. Even with custom kernels and Game boost app its still sucks, i have tried them.

Ah I get it now thanks for clearing it.
Although I would have thought a tegra device would be supported more quickly.
Yeah... you'd assume that a company like GL would optimize for the most powerful hardware on the market... apparently not!
Regardless, I find Batman to be ok generally, bit laggy after prolonged sessions, havent touched Spider-Man as I've only heard bad things, messed about with Asphalt 7 and so far it's just the FPS that dips and gets laggy so I'm not too fussed about that, don't play it much.
The only game that support Tegra is batman, the only game with no polygon clipping issues
Nova3 is still not officially released and all the other games are running like a joke
Batman is ok on stock but with faux and gaming boost its supers smooth while spiderman a mess no matter what you do
the situation is the same on the Nexus 7
finally One X firmware 1.29 is known to have a serious issues with games' CPU scaling, which will be solved mid august when HTC releases the 2.x update
But yea Gameloft....is so far anti tegra

It's a shame really... I personally think Spider-Man was a rush job, no doubt about it, Batman had the bigger budget as the only official game for the movie so they made damn sure it was T3 optimised, still has hiccups but updates can rectify that.
Nova3 is a joke, unless you want to r00t, flash and customize stay well away!
Bring on 2.X I say! and GameLoft... Sort your Sh*t out!

very easy to judge this whole thing with batman
batman has all the effects runs better than iDevices and old SGS2, only SGS3 beats it and NO POLYGON CLIPPING ISSUES, the difference between v1.05 and 1.06 was massive
how do you expect a game to run well when you actually see visible polygon clipping bugs

Yeah, When I installed 1.06 I was impressed with how much 'crisper' everything looked.
I have no problem with nova 3 using arhd 8.1.0 with 3 dot menu removed but my phone gets really hot though and I emailed them about mc3 cuz I love that its just like cod on a mobile and they sent me a tegra 3 version and runs sweet but looks about the same on my old phone

Thanks for the replies, the way is to wait, tried to play Spiderman with faux kernel, it was almost the same thing, only slightly improved, is still quite slow. So we wait.

Asphalt 7 and Spiderman runs awesome with Faux and Gaming boost, 60fps
Assassin's Creed Mirage will be a more focused game, with a condensed experience that emphasizes stealth and parkour over combat. Players will take on the role of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a member of the Hidden Ones who previously appeared in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The game is set in NINTH CENTURY BAGHDAD, taking inspiration from historical events that occurred in the region
The story of Assassin's Creed Mirage is not yet fully known, but it is clear that the game will take place before the events of Valhalla or 100 years before the formation of the Assassin Brotherhood, as Basim Ibn Ishaq is a known character from that game. In Mirage, the player will follow Basim's journey as he travels through the Levant on a quest for vengeance and to uncover a conspiracy that threatens the stability of the Assassins.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is currently slated to release in late 2023 for PC and next-generation consoles. Ubisoft has not yet revealed a specific release date, however, reliable rumormonger Tom Henderson says the game may be released in October 2023.
As the game progresses through development, more details are likely to emerge.
Assassin's Creed Mirage: Rumor Release Date, Gameplay and Platforms
The Assassin's Creed franchise is one of the most beloved in gaming, with its combination of historical settings and stealth-action gameplay.

It's great to hear that we'll be playing as Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character we encountered in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I'm definitely looking forward to more details.
