Im sure that might be an option once sprint launches some LTE devices but don't quote me on that.

No probably not as there are no roaming agreements on 4g sprint was talking with big red but probably will never happen as different freq and VZW don't want to anyways they would have to be forced by FCC

I noticed att also has 4g not lte but just 4g in my area, would be awesome to hook up to it
I could be wrong but I think our phone will not have a Sim card either which will probably not allow hooking up to the att version...somewhere it said Sim less lte about our version of nexus

I am interested in the ONE-X, but only i fI have the one with the Tegra 3 processors. I'd like that because they are the same as my Asus TF201. My question is can I get a GSM ONE-X to work with AT&T's network? I know it won't be LTE, but would it at least work on the H+ network? I have the Inspire 4G now and I believe h+ will be good enough if i can get it.

Yeah you will as long as your in a good ATT coverage area.
I am in NY and am getting about 6-10mbps download speeds.

So just to clarify, are you getting 3g, 3.5g, or 4g? (and arent 4g/lte the same thing for that matter?)

No I dont think 4g and LTE are the same.
I am getting HSPA+ speeds using ATT. ATT considers HSPA+ to be 4G.
LTE i believe is completely different than 4g.
What AT&T and T-Mobile (and Verizon for that matter) refer to as 4G isn't technically 4G. Legally by ITU definitions only LTE, WiMax2, etc. are truly "4G" technologies.
That said, the Intl 1X supports all the frequencies necessary to operate on AT&T other than LTE (for that you need the neutered dual core US version). All I did last night was create a new APN in Network Settings for broadband speeds (I know it has an AT&T APN in there by default but I wanted to ensure the settings were correct).
I followed this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69lHUIkEOIE
Ok so the question is.....
Will LTE coverage only be in areas where you have gotten or get 4g coverage or will LTE expand coverage a lil further?
I've got the sprint galaxy nexus

Read this site they have a lot of info on the 4g roll out
http://s4gru.com/
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Sprint is strategically releasing LTE in limited markets soon. They will of course keep rolling it out over time to the best places they can. There's nothing that indicates they're going to just overlay their current WiMax network with LTE in that order. Eventually they want to cover their entire 3G network with LTE but that's so far off you can't even consider it right now.
It's going to be a very small, slow roll out.
And btw LTE is 4G. You need to refer to Sprint's legacy 4G network as "WiMax". That cuts down on the confusion...
I was perusing the programming menus on my phone and happened to see one labeled LTE and it was set to disabled. What would happen if i enabled that setting? I know my msl and everything. An curious to know if it would pick up the Verizon lte network in my area
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
You won't get Verizon's LTE if you have a Sprint Nexus.......
Leave it set to disabled, unless you are in one of Sprint's LTE cities. If not, your battery life could suffer.
Not even with roam
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
No.
You'll never be able to connect to Verizon's LTE.
Keep it disabled until you know it's in your area.
There are no roaming agreements with lte and unless say the FCC makes them there probably never will be

LTE Roaming
Furthermore, I'm pretty sure the Verizon LTE and the Sprint LTE are on different bandwidths... so I don't think that the phone was built to be able to roam on both LTE networks. I could be wrong though, I don't know enough about what is required for the radios to pick up the different frequencies.
Assuming you live in a city that supports LTE. How much % less time do you get with LTE than with 3G

LTE is NOT 4G. They all call it that, but it's more like 3.9G. LTE-Advanced will be 4G when it is finalized and deployed on carrier networks next year.

I personally don't notice much difference by leaving LTE on versus turning it off. I usually get 2 days of use on a full charge. My results may be skewed a bit cause the lte signal is weak in my area, so my phone automatically switched over to 3G.

Give me a break man. I know what 4G is constituted by but with the carriers pushing out their crap (HSPA+ as 4G) calling LTE 4G is a happy medium.
And I was just trying to figure what the hell that guy was talking about when he said 4G. LTE, WiMax, Real 4G, dumb AT&T/T-Mo 4G?
If I understand correctly. The s4 processor has the lte integrated in such a way that is a bit more battery efficient than a snapdragon s3 device with lte.
This might be better in the Verizon form as they have LTE (we do too but in 5cities).

Can I use another 4G LTE provider on the Galaxy Note II from Sprint?
I have Boost Mobile and I had a Galaxy S2 with Clear.com 4G WiMax. I now can only get 3G, and as you ALL know the 3G speed has lowered quite a bit. (200~400k vs 700~900k 3 years ago)
Another alternative I guess would be to get a Hotspot, but who wants to carry around a phone AND a hotspot when you can have them both on the phone?
I believe you can use this device on any network that is actually using Sprint towers, like MetroPCS (?) or Boost?
There are threads somewhere for instructions on flashing this.
(i'm also talking out my ass, because I have only noticed these threads in passing, never actually researched this. But I bet if you Searched a bit, you'd find the info.)
Um LOL. Like the thread right under this one?

Thanks for the info but that's not what I meant. I mean the 4G service, not the voice, talk, text and 3G. I have that already. (that's what the thread under this one does, help you program the Note 2 on Boost, I already did that part. I meant the 4G LTE, i.e. connecting it on Verizon's LTE or T-Mobile's (MetroPCS is now part of T-Mobile I believe?) Heck, even a Sprint LTE account if they allowed it by itself with no talk/text service would be nice.

Impossible to do first off you need to understand how technology and radios work Tmobile is GSM. Sprint and verizon are CDMA and you can only "roam" on 3g verizon with a prl that can get you kicked off, if you abuse it.

Ok, so maybe I do need to do some research. LTE is *not* like WiMax? It doesn't have separate "device" from the actual voice/text/3G radio?
LTE uses the same radio as the cellphone and 3G?

I give facts and argument you insult sprint... well of course you are right. who has ever heard of the "can suck it" argument ever loosing. that's how we explained to Hitler and the Japanese emperor that he had to surrender in WW2 "Mr Hitler can suck it" -pres trueman, "since I can suck it I have ordered my forces to surrender and suggested to the Japanese to do the same"-hitler (translated to English)
if you can't give facts to support your claim you can go head and get an iPhone on a gsm network since you are using the same arguments apple uses to ensnare its sheep -i mean- customers
either that or you are an at&t rep or fanboy trying to weakarm customers away from sprint. why you aren't targeting your biggest competitor Verizon is beyond me but take that stuff to T-Mobile customers they'll eat that up like they eat their "unlimited" throttled data
one bad experience in one city with one small period of data speed downturn does not a bad carrier make
oh and mods don't blame chuko (or me) for starting arguments. arguments are healthy and help shape perception
