No sound, no sync

Hello,
If there is a thread about this subject, please direct me to it because I couldn't find it.
I have an XDA Cosmo running on WM6.1 (ricky's)
All was reasonably fine untill this sunday. All of a sudden it doesn't make any sound anymore and there is the headphone symbol displayed at the top. When I plug in a headphone, I can hear to that offcourse.
It is also very hard to sync it with my computer. I have to try dozen's of times.
I'm guessing that there is something wrong with the connector. Do you have any suggestions?
The strangest thing is that when I reboot my phone, it doesn't occur untill i plug something into the mini-usb connector.
Another strange thing was that it changed the colour of the homescreen automaticly overnight. I don't think the two problems are related, so any suggestions for this one?
yesterday, completely out of the blue, my phone had the speakerphone all the time on. I couldn't get it normal again. Then, later that day, the headphone symbol reappeared, so I couldn't make a call anymore.
When I connect it to my computer today, it keeps on switching between connected and not-connected for 2 minutes and then decides to be not connected. Even when I leave the room and there are no noticeable vibrations that could cause a bad connection.
Anyone has an idea? Because the phone is useless right now and I can't flash another rom when I can't connect it to my computer.
Greetings and thanks a lot for any piece of information.

turn off bluetooth
Bluetooth hasn't been on the last couple of months, so I don't think that that is the problem

[Q] Help - speaker automatically turning on

Hello,
I have problem with speaker - every time when I call or someone call to me and i answer phone, speaker automatically is turning on. I can turn it off, but I have to do it every time.
Software update / factory reset don't help... What can I do? It harware fault?
tried cleaning cache and dalvik ?
don'y have root, only made "clear storage"
Might be a hardware fault.
Sensor or accelerometer.
Maybe worth getting it checked by HTC if you already factory reset and it didn't help.
ok it seems to be only solution
Problems began when one time I charged battery via usb connected to pc. But with headphones works fine.
try calibrating g sensor...

[Q] Please help, it's urgent..

I have my desire for 1,5 years now, of which 1 year rooted. Never had this problem. It got stuck on car mode, i can't send it to repair atm, isn't there any other solution then what i've tried till now?
-Soft reset
-Sim card out, turn on, turn off, sim card back in
-Factory reset, in three ways, via sense menu, hboot and recovery.
Please help me, it annoys me a lot that it goes on speaker when receiving calss/calling, and that it loads the navigation app, and media volume on full etc etc
pull battery out for 30 minutes? Check there is nothing bridging a connection somewhere in the usb port? Fluff etc
i've already pulled out the battery for 30min, i did it for one hour earlier.. and no i checked the port as well, nothing in it..
I have changed my rom, surprisingly, IT WORKED i don't have a problem anymore(for now at least)

[Q] Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) Won't Turn On

Hello all, I am in need of some help. I recently bought a Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) and haven't had a chance to get service on it until what would've been today. This is the reason why I can't:
last night I had it connected to my PC doing some data transfers and things, until my PC said it was disconnected. I wasn't all too worried about it because I was done and was actually ready to unplug it. Before I reached for the phone, it started to vibrate in a weird pattern. I grabbed it almost as soon as it had finished vibrating, and then to my realization it, it wouldn't turn on.
Here's what I've done since then:
1. I immediately tried to turn it on
2. I plugged it back up to my PC, no connection
3. I plugged it up to the ASUS AC Charger and let it charge to see if it would come on that way (Nothing, didn't start up, no LED Light, nada)
4. Left it charging overnight
5. Tried to turn it on this morning, nothing.
6. Waited a few hours after unplugging from AC charger and still nothing.
Please help me :crying: What should I do?
Long-press power button for 5 seconds and wait for 2x vibrations?
I imagine you did that, but I figured I'd ask how you're trying to turn it on.
Does it give any response at all? Holding the power button?
Recommend to test with a different USB cable or adapter.
Sincerely,
ASUS_USA

Same here, the thing was i charged it with an aukey backup batery.
nothing is working so i think it's dead
This happen to a lot zenfone 2 users
Apparently i got the same issue, when i connect to PC to do some transfer files, the phone suddenly dead (because sudden disconnect (happens a lot with loose USB port), cant turn on and cant charge, hard restart (recovery) also not working. Other phone works fine when suddenly disconnected, this only happen to ASUS Zenfone 2. And btw the phone and cables i use is original from ASUS.
Please fix this issue ASUS, this is very serious problem, seriously the phone is dead by doing sudden disconnect. Im not a tech so i dont know what is really happening, is it software or hardware problem.
I checked other forums, theres many report about this, fix it fast please.
Same problem here

hi, i have the same problem here, it really wont turn on. how's your phone? were you able to do something about it? im really worried. Thanks a lot.
If you are unable to power up after long charge, ensured cable is firmly connected, tested with different USB cable/or adapter, then it may require sending in for warranty service. If you would like warranty assistance and are located in the USA or Canada, please feel free to contact me direct at [email protected]. For all other regions please see the following for warranty service - http://www.asus.com/support/
Sincerely,
ASUS_USA
I also have the same issue.
Has someone been able to fix it? Is it a loose port, problem with the motherboard, or a problem with the battery itself?
I have the same issue... But my phone got wet before I had the issue. Has that happened to anyone else with the issue?
Here a Solution I discover

Hi guys, i had the same issue with my ASUS zenfone twice! The first time the repair center took a look at it, they saw a loose connection inside the unit, they just faastened it then it turned on. After 2 weeks, the same thing happened again, then i returned to the repair center. This time, they said that they found out that the battery software was corrupted (factory fault), they changed the battery software and they got the phone running again. It's been a week since I had my phone working and hopefully this issue will not happen again.
Guys!!! Try this, hold down power button until it reboot two or three times, to be exact until the reboot screen goes blue then let go the power button. yea, weirdly i did it that way and i got my phone working again
How much did it cost?
I had purchased 2 ZenFone 2, 1 for me and my wife on 5/11/2015.
Well my wife's Zen2 wouldn't turn on and it had a full charge 3 days ago.
I've tired a hard reset connected to a different usb cable and also charger, messed with it for 2 days and NADA it was DEAD......
She doesn't use the phone much maybe 1 gb of data for the month and under 100 mins and she hates to text..
But I did get the extended warranty from Newegg for $25 per phone and they will email you a gift card for the same price of what I paid for the phone.
As soon as the Tracking info hit UPS the gift card came in my email within 36 hours and I ordered her The ZenFone 2 Laser which should be here Tomorrow hopefully she will be happy with it.
Same problem here. I plugged my zenphone 2 on my pc to transfer files. It vibrate and turns off. Tried to replugged it to my pc but does not work. I also use different usb cable and adapter but still it wont open nor charge. Is there anyway my phone be restored? I've tried the hard reset but to no avail. Please help.

[Q] Z1c suddenly died/bricked (stock lollipop)

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and haven't rooted or installed custom roms before, but maybe you can halp me with my problem.
The other day i was on my way to work, at home my phone was working just fine, but when i arrived, it was dead.
I put the phone on charge for the rest of the day, but nothing happened, only a dim flashing red light. Tried to reset in all possible ways.
I charged it with a usb power meter and it draws only about 20mA intermittently...
When connected with the sony bridge for mac software the phone isn't recognised at al. I tried pc companion in windows XP (in bootcamp).
and then the phone keeps connecting and disconnecting over and over.
I don't want to sent the phone out for repair, because there are a lot of pictures and other private documents on the phone and i can't erase the phone myself. Who knows what happens when the phone is repaired.....
Is there a way to get the phone back to live without erasing?
Thank you very much

open the sim card slot you will find a small red button (Reset button) there next to the sim press it until you feel 3 vibrations then don't turn on your phone charge it until full then turn it on if it didn't then again press the reset button and don't turn it on , go to pc companion>support zone>software update>repair my phone . and this will be your only hope and i'm afraid you will lose all data on internal storage
