2.3.4 (R800i, 4.0.2.A.62 version) this is what I'm using now with JokaWild ROM, Doomlord's Kernel v11, Juicedefender, AVG, ZDbox, System Tuner, SD Maid, Titanium backup, ES File explorer, etc. My battery lasts longer now and I am overclocked at 1.4ghz take note
i mean stock roms only and rooteable with 1 click method. thanks tho
best battery life for me is stock 2.3.4 (.62) with jokawildROM 2.5, doomkernel 11 and -36 baseband.
Alot of people and doomlord says that -36 gives you the best battery life and signal reception
if you have extreme battery drain try wiping battery stats from cwm.
My stock battery goes down 15% after playing mc3 for 2hrs
for me its 2.3.4 (R800i, 4.0.2.A.42 version) Stock,
but only a bit. i play with ics cfw, so no good battery at all
For me it was 2.3.4 (R800i, 4.0.2.A.42 version)
Until I upgraded to my first CFW on my R800i, KA12 using DoomLord's ICS Kernel.
My battery seems to have gone down by 25-30% at least.

I have an Xperia Arc S, running JJ's Hybrid ICS Rom. Since installing I've noticed battery drain and that I'm currently on baseband 48. I noticed JJ suggests baseband 64, but all baseband posts I've come across say don't do it on ICS. So how do I change the baseband when I'm on ICS?
Thanks
flashback to .42 then do baseband, then go back to ICS?
baseband 36 with libraries is the best baseband for battery
I'm using Baseband 64 and arconium ICS v5. Battery life is pretty good.
witch of this 2 firmwares has the best battery life (and witch is better firmware):
4.0.2.A.42 or 4.0.2.A.58 (full stock just bloatware removed)
hi....i have the 0% battery problem on my xperia arc and i want to update it to ics, but i havent been able to find any kernel which fixes this problem what should i do?
I have tested it and I finally decided that staying at 2.3.4. modded to 2.3.7. by myself
so will i be able to update to ics when doom kernel for ics 4.0.4 with the fix for battery issue comes out ?because now if i officially update to ics it shuts down with the 0 battery problem .......
dont . It drains battery like hell !!!!
ICS is good but very good with tweak.
Many rom provide many tweak.
Upgrade to ICS and install a ROM like JJHybrid rom and MooDeD rom or others.
With MooDeD rom, my battery can last in 2 day with normal usage.
I got the NXT 1.2 rom in my Xperia Play, which is made in android 2.3.7 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649368 ), but a guy told me the android 2.3.4 is better than 2.3.7 to run games, and suggested me to install the NXT 1.1, which is 2.3.4.
Is that true? 2.3.4 version run games better than the 2.3.7? If yes, why?
I was seeking for 2.3.4 rom's for Xperia Play, and I had found the Gin2JellyBean 1.8.1 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631144 ), android 2.3.4 too.
So, what its the better for gaming? NXT 1.1, NXT 1.2 or Gin2JellyBean 1.8.1? Another suggestion?
Thanks.

hahahahaha your asking for the perfect rom wich is not been created yet lol
i would recomend you follow attacks post for the step by steps
but for gaming i would probably go with Cola Rom as it is the fastest rom for gaming and probably doomkernel for your kernel.
and for jellybean rom i would go with Slimbean...well thats my thoughts... hoped it helped

Is doomkernel good for 2.3.3? I've tried Lupus GBv11 it works but the wifi is only functional on 2.3.4 I've tried hatcyl's 2.3.3 kernel with 1.6 overclock which just causes my play to bootloop and act crazy. Whats the best kernel available to 2.3.3? From what I can tell the bulk of custom ROMS are based off 2.3.3. Aside from Lupus' GBv11 kernel wifi problem with 2.3.3 it worked perfectly. So a good custom ROM based off 2.3.4 might be an alternative, any suggestions?

Doomkernel v2 is the best kernel that I have used. I run it at 1.2ghz smartassv2 and sio. You also have to flash wifi modules that come with it. I've never had problems with it. Debloated stock 2.3.3 or my Zeuscnxtlite(Stock 2.3.3) rom gets me 300mb free ram on average.
Since Download links are down for doomLord, here are the files.
